They sent me an extremely threatening letter promising court proceedings, warrants of execution, county court judgement, etc... etc on the behalf of their client Enterprise for a car scrape just outside Heathrow. I had already paid it back in January after hiring a car that tried to kill me.

A very poor law company to whom their partner Jonathan Stork writes to you and asks for a response, received an immediate recorded delivery response in return and then fails to acknowledge or reply back to you. I have also followed up with a call to the said partner. Still waiting months later! Reported also to managing partner with no response! Bad practice

Forced to use this company as a condition of lease on sheltered accommodation. Much more expensive than I could get elsewhere. A restrictive practice that should not be allowed. Essentially Shakespeare Matineau act for the company that owns the head lease (Southernhay Estates) and the leaseholder pays the bills. Efficient but perfunctory service with little communication and I had little control or input into the process or the amount charged, which felt very high for the amount of work involved and was certainly more expensive than I was quoted elsewhere, but I had no choice.

I have provided the company with the invoice number for the amount charged to me, so I find it very strange that they are unable to identify the transaction!

Having worked worked with you for some time, I have always found the guidance we have received on several matters to be exceptional!

Customer service here is horrible. I've made 4 calls this week, been put through on hold every time while the generated voice tells me I'm number 1 in the queue for 10 minutes, ending up another generated voice telling me to leave a message and they'll call me back. Shockingly, they don't call back. Nor do they respond to the forms on the contact us portion of their website. And that's not even going into the horrible experience I had getting in touch with them last year too so it's a consistent thing with this company.

Edit: In the reply to this they state they have been in contact with me but this isn't the case - I still haven't spoken to anyone or had an email reply. I've tried several more times to get in contact since originally posting and again I've been put on hold to be disconnected after 10 minutes, emails haven't been responded to, the form on their website has been submitted again and yet nothing.

I recently used Shakespeare Martineau for my first conveyancing matter as a first time better. Raza Ali made sure the process ran as smoothly as possible with his prompt responses and clear legal guidance. I plan to use his legal services again for any future conveyancing matters.

The biggest scammers of all time. These people are scammers. They tottaly ignore emails, they dont care about anything as they thing they are above the law! stay away from this shame. I have made a payment in full as soon as I have received a letter, however they did not bother to alocate my payment and simply sent my case to CCJ. They I have shown all proofs, but you know what - they did not give a sh**.
I am assigning my lawyers, so lets see how they dance now.

I've received a letter from Shakespeare martineau stating that I owe a debt of over £1000 and I haven't even lived at the address for 10 months! I also cancelled my direct debit with them over the phone which I was in credit for in August 2024 10 months ago. Now 10 months later they're saying I owe this debt or I'll be going to court. I've paid every single bill when I was living there for 2 years and I have proof of this on bank statements. Major blunder on there part and I will be fighting this case as this isn't my debt. Tried to resolve this matter and got hung up on over the phone. Very rude customer service

Raza Ali handled our conveyancing transaction brilliantly. He was diligent in acting for us and he managed to comply with the seller's request that the transaction had to be concluded within 10 working days following the property auction. Well done Raza!

The staff at Shakespeare Martineau were always very responsive, communicate well and provide excellent professional advice.

Awful service. The firm held an original lease for a property in the archives. Multiple emails, failures to take down correct contact details, using the wrong names. Don’t return calls or emails. In our attempts to confirm they had the original. Had to escalate to CEO who failed to aknowledge email and complaint. The firm could not locate the documents when someone from complaints finally took ownership of the issue. Amazing they are still in business reading the other reviews of this firm.
