I cannot recommend Gill at Forbes Solicitors enough. I have used their services on more than one occasion, and every single time, the support, professionalism and care I have received have been exceptional. Gill has always taken the time to listen to my wishes, understand my circumstances and ensure that both my wishes and, most importantly, my child’s wellbeing remain at the forefront of everything. During what can be incredibly difficult and emotional situations, having someone who genuinely listens, supports you and puts your child’s best interests first makes all the difference. I have always felt heard, supported and reassured throughout the process. I am incredibly grateful for all the help and guidance I have received and would wholeheartedly recommend Gill and Forbes Solicitors to anyone needing compassionate, professional and dedicated legal support.

I recently engaged Forbes Solicitors Manchester and I was represented by a Miss Niamh Monaghan.

With legal matters, inevitably come endless questions and/or concerns.
My questions were met directly and accompanied by welcome advice and information and my concerns were swiftly put to rest.

I found Miss Monaghan to be meticulous in her work, professional, competent and diligent yet being understanding ,patient and empathetic whilst remaining most personable and affable.

If Miss Monaghan is indeed the measure of the quality of service expected and offered by Forbes solicitors then I have no hesitation in highly recommending both Forbes Solicitors LLP and Miss Monaghan.

Forbes solicitors and Miss Monaghan have my utmost thanks and appreciation. Should I ever need legal counsel again I will not pause before contacting them immediately.

They don't want to help clients in need just want their money.

I would highly recommend Sam Healey. He was extremely professional, knowledgeable and responsive throughout the matter. His advice was clear and reassuring, and I always felt that my case was being handled with care and attention. Sam and his team were very approachable. They understand the stress that you are feeling and try to sort things out quickly.

I have had several letters from this company. They are full of errors of fact, for which I have asked for an apology. No apology has been received.

They persist in addressing me by the wrong title: they have not apologised and still continue to use the wrong one.

I am now going to make a formal complaint to this company. If they do not respond to my complete satisfaction I will contact the Legal Ombudsman.

Update 30 June 2026. After 2 months of requests for a written apology and for them to use my correct title, today I finally received the written apology. It had my correct title. It should not require me and another legal person to keep requesting an apology before they comply.

They tell you what you want to hear but at a costly price ! And would let you carry on in believing them
Leave well alone they don’t explain the exact costs just lead you into a false promises stay well clear

Used twice.
First occasion selling a business, clear pricing etc. Went well.
So used to buy a business. Pricing went through the roof. Paying not just one but two solicitors. Cost me thousands for a lot of work I really didn't need. Wouldn't use or recommend again.
Make sure you get clear concise quotes and don't go down the rabbit hole of having stuff you don't need if buying a very small businesses.

Bilal was fantastic to deal with. He was professional and always did extra, he was always prompt in his communication and was always there when we needed him. Definitely reccomend him !

We had a couple of meetings for our Wills and Powers of Attorney and were pleased with the thorough explanation of our options and answers to our many questions.

Worst experience I have had they mis advise and make your case worse and even charge just for a phone consultation really bad experience I have moved my business elsewhere and would not recommend them, they have lost their family friendly feel and no longer talk to you like humans go elsewhere

Keep well away from this firm. You will agree on said amount to pay. Then they straight up lie to you. Demand more then drop you

Very very poor throughout .. basically complete rip off merchants .. basically get your own law degree then solicitors qualifications because the money spent doing that far outweighs the unprofessional advise given

The most stressfull time ever.The speed and lack of communication and standerd was 29 months of hell.we had two solisters working for us in 20 months the 1st was either not in the office or in a meeting not sighing work off for weeks and weeks at the time.team building for the whole office working from home extreamly rude and spoke to us like we where children. The Solicitors where in control they sent the photographers round to take pics of my dads house did not inform any of the family. So that day i went to check on the house i pulled up and the blinds where moving i jumped out ran down the drive opened the back door and they where standing in my dads property i thought we had burgers i ask who gave there permission i was told to contact the esate agent, i rang themthey said nothing to do with us contact the solicitors. The Solicitors asked for the for sale borad up .5 weeks the board was up and the solister hadn't sighed it of the esate agent rang but still was not sighned off.they hold back money and hold back money for months a time the house sold and week didnt get paid for over a month with out ringing and asking where is it.that was january we only got the final money that was in april time wasters and holding money back please read and take in what happened to us we lost posible viewings and a better price on dads house due it not being sighned off

We hired Forbes on a conditional fee basis (ie ‘no win no fee) in August 2021 to get probate action from family executors who were dragging their feet. We received the final payout in April 2025 after legal costs of £30,000 at our side and a corresponding £27,000 from estate lawyers.

Our disappointment with Forbes was in their lack of initiative or resolve to keep up pressure on the other side for action, nor any modicum of creativity in devising new angles to keep them on the back foot. Instead, it quickly settled into chummy first name emails between the lawyers whilst waiting nearly 4 years for time to take its course.

Every initiative taken by Forbes was provoked by us making suggestions and demanding action, all of which we could have done ourselves. But the singular advantage in appointing solicitors to act for us was that it forced the other side to take action which otherwise may never have happened. On that basis alone we award a grudging 2 stars.’

And notably Forbes’ final action was to ensure they were paid from the estate before any funds reached us, then not to send us any form of sign off or thanks for our business. Tells you all you need to know. It’s all about the money folks’

To date I have found Forbes to be tardy, unaware, disorganised and generally unprofessional. I would not recommend them as it stands. I hope this improves otherwise I will be going elsewhere.
