Solid Oak Warehouse 

Placed an order for 2 worktop offcuts 09/11/2021.
E-mailed multiple times, but received automated responses and a couple of delaying e-mails. I have now cancelled and requested a refund, but have only received automated responses and no refund. I guess I will now have to take legal action to get my money back. I would not recommend dealing with this small firm. Uncommunicative and unreliable. Hope I get my money back.

Wish I had read other reviews first. Ordered a small piece of worktop on 25th November and still have not received it. I have emailed them several times and left a message via the contact form on the website and had no response. This morning I have registered it with my card provider as a 'Disputed/Fraudulent' transaction.

I ordered ONE shelf with brackets over 6 weeks ago and i am still waiting for the order to be completed....if you purchase something from this 'small family run business' don't expect any form of customer service....they are very unprofessional and obviously are not established enough to cope with such a large order .... my advice ... there are plenty of other sources out there selling the products these jokers are...shop elsewhere!

We bought a lot of dining furniture and the quality was very good and the table was what we had been looking for for a long while. However once received the chairs were the wrong colour! it then took nearly a year!! to sort out the problem. This meant endless phone calls and no-one taking responsibility until we threatened legal action with advise from the Citizens advise dept.

Ordered a bespoke table and standard chairs and these took quite a time to arrive - delivery was a little inflexible but I was pleased with the table and chairs.

However, after just over a year, the table has two large cracks in. When I asked for help I was told it was out of warranty so not their problem.

That leaves me with a table that looks really nice except for the large cracks - pretty useless really!

I won't be going back.

just bought a new table from solid oak company it was better than i expected you should have a look on there web page as they have lots of lovely things for the home

The table and chairs purchased seemed of excellent quality, the flip over table remains sound and is great when the family visit.

The chairs can be quite difficult to assemble due to difficulty in alining the cap screws. One chair was replaced due to a fault in the padding to the back. One chair recently failed when the inner corner rectangular block broke away from the seat frame, this was due to faulty assembly. Repairs were made by myself.

We could not rate this company in the way we wanted i.e. NO STARS AT ALL!!!! We ordered goods from solid oak warehouse in Sept 2010 - goods were promised within 8 weeks which was essential as we were moving. They took our money within days. Despite knowing we were about to move this the company kept delaying delivery and we had to cancel. The fun then began as they kept promising a refund then came up with one excuse after another not to send the refund. We have now reported Solid Oak Warehouse to Trading Standards DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!

We looked at several suppliers of oak furniture and chose SOLIDOAKFURNITURE as they provided the best all round products as a special order to our specification. They customised various pieces to ensure all were of the same grain and fixtures (handles, etc).

Saw table and chairs on website, then visited the showroom to check it was what i expected - it was, and at a reasonable price compared to other retailers with fancy showrooms etc, so i placed an order. I was told delivery would be 6-8 weeks, they have lots of the table in stock, just need to order in the chairs.
After lots of chasing by phone/email (and another visit to the showroom, some 90 miles from home, so not cheap on fuel etc) the delivery eventually came some 15 weeks after the order was placed...and the table was damaged. Sent them photos immediately. They said no problem, we'll order a replacement immediately, however it will be, wait for it, 6-8 weeks.
It is now some 3 months later, and despite many phonecalls, emails, and even letters they are ignoring all efforts to make this right (by replacing the faulty goods). Totally unacceptable customer service, and I am now making it my goal for 2012 to make sure justice is done one way or another. I have contacted Trading Standards and several other organisations, and am going to expose this company for the shambles they are so that other people aren't ripped off in the same way in future.

If you want some furniture show elsewhere and pay another 100 quid elsewhere, it will be a lot less hassle in the long run.

I notice Solid Oak Warehouse have replied to a couple of reviews on here - i really do hope they are still reading this site as I would like nothing more than the items i purchased, undamaged, and to move on with more important things in life. They know how to contact me - MOW008376.

I don't normally write reviews but I thought I had to as the service I had was great and the price was very good.

I bought a TV unit. £400 on the website. Phoned 0115 8220266 and they are having a clearance sale. I got it for £300 inc VAT and free delivery but as I am off work I drove there and picked it up.

What can I say? the TV unit is superb and weighs a ton. Its really well made and for £300. A bargain. Solid Oak too.

We bought a dining table and chairs set from this company and they were useless.

They did not deliver on time (over a week late) and I had taken time off work to stay in for the delivery. They did not call or respond to emails and I had to constantly chase them for answers.

When it finally arrived, they made my husband help to carry the goods as they did not bring enough people to help unload.

They promised a mirror as compensation and it never arrived.

A couple of the chairs are broken and the dining table was marked.

Would never use this company again.

I decided to buy from Solid oak Warehouse after seeing the great pieces a friend had bought with no problems. I was worried after reading some of the negative feedback so we travelled down to the showroom & was impressed with the furniture & had excellent customer service. We bought a dining set which was just what we were looking for but a lot cheaper than other places we'd looked. We were told it'd be delivered in 4-6 weeks but in just over 3 weeks it was delivered. It is fantastic & great quality. All in all we had a good experience & would recommend this company to others.

Visited their showroom in Ilkeston yesterday. Got a price for a dining table and 10 chairs. Arrange to collect today. They created an invoice and loaded everything into my van. They couldn't be any more friendly and helpful if they tried. Really nice coffee while I waited too. Great stuff! Thanks :)

I bought a table and chairs from the showroom a few weeks ago. Delivered this morning as promised and wow is the furniture sold and high quality. A table and chairs for less than £700? Incredible value.

Unfortunately I could have written the review by Jonhd below word for word except we are now on day 39 without any sign of a refund. Every time we have phoned the company to discuss this we have been told there is no one in the building who deals with accounts! We have now been told this on 4 different occasions. We were also told we would be getting a call back from management and almost 48 hours later we are still awaiting that call.

We have begun seeking legal advice as to how we can move forward with this and have logged this incident with Consumer Direct.

However by some degree of luck (if you could call it that) I will be in the area of Solid Oak Warehouse next week so intend to pay them a visit to see if I can track anyone down in person.

Should we actually receive a refund from them I will revisit this site and update my review, if it hasn't been updated that you can assume we are still awaiting our refund!

Complete nightmare. you place order and pay and you hear nothing. you chase and are told it will be 6-8 weeks. you tell them 6 weeks is next week and they literally say nothing. You get to week 8 and you phone again, and are told goods not coming, are not on latest shipment, and won't be coming but can offer you something different. you cancel order and are told will be handed to accounts, but will take up to 30 days. We call after 20 days and are told don't know anything about it but if with accounts then refund will apear before end of 30 days. Today is day 30 and guess what - still nothing. They have made n attempt at any juncture to contact us - it has always been us phoning them. Service is dreadful and we still don't have our refund. If we had done more research before, rather than relying on the Reviews on their own website, we wouldn't have touched this firm with a bargepole.

I ORDERED SOME FURNITURE ALMOST SIX MONTHS AGO FROM THIS COMPANY AFTER 3 MONTHS THEY TELL ME THEY CANT GET THE T V CABINET BUT HAVE THE SIDEBOARD ASSURE ME WILL BE DELIVERED BY END MAY END MAY COMES STILL NO T V CABINET I ASK FOR MY SIDEBOARD BUT NOW SAY THEY DONT HAVE THE SIDEBOARD IN THE END I HAD TO PICK SOME FURNITURE I DIDNT WANT THAT WAS DELIVERED TODAY WITH DAMAGED HANDLES AND AWFUL STAINS ON THE WOOD WONT BOTHER TO PHONE THEM JUST A WASTE OF MY TIME .THIS IS THE MOST AWFUL COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH BE WARNED THEY ADVERTISE FURNITURE YOU HAVE NO HOPE OF GETTING EVEN AFTER 6 MONTHS.
