It was my first time I workt together with a producer via Soundbetter, and I met a few producers and all very professional and kind. I am thankful that I know now how it works on Soundbetter. The service was also very good!

I was searching for a singer and sent that singer a message. Then Soundbetter asked me if they could also make other suggestions. I said "NO." Then they started spamming me with new suggestions. I wrote back saying I would delete my account if they did that again after I said, "No." They didn't listen and spammed me with more suggestions and there is no way to delete an account on their site once signed up. I have sent email demanding they delete my account

Grabbed this to get some live guitar tracked for a rough demo. Having the escrow system lock the funds until the final stems actually hit my session folder gave me massive peace of mind. Trying to upload heavy WAV files on mobile was clunky and almost killed the momentum, so I just switched to my studio rig. Once that was sorted, messaging the player directly made it stupid easy to catch a vibe and dial in the exact tone I needed. Definitely keeping this in the rotation when I need outside tracking to wrap up a mixdown.

Unprofessional, Broken Promises, and Unauthorized Changes

Do not hire Robert L. Smith. I paid him $1,826.00 with the clear agreement that he would hire professional session players for my song and follow my specific production directions. Instead, he completely failed to deliver on what was promised.

He never hired the session musicians we agreed on. On top of that, he completely ignored my explicit instructions regarding the track—he replaced my original hook with his own unwanted additions and completely neglected the specific style of drums I explicitly requested.

When you pay nearly $2,000 for a professional producer, you expect collaboration, communication, and respect for your creative vision. Instead, I was left with a track that ignored my direction and a producer who took my money without delivering the contracted services. Save your time and money and find someone who actually respects their clients and honors their agreements.

Soundbetter is a great platform that makes hiring an audio pro very easy. The offers are well diversified and, so far, I had nothing but great experiences when hiring a musician.

Easy to communicate with client but hard to find information on how the company handles VAT between providers and clients.

I think it is phenomenal that you have created a buffet style space where links of professionalism is tangible and working with the best so you sound the best becomes a reality. Being able to go directly to the source while still at the convenience of your own home or while traveling is a huge plus! Thank you for making this available and am so glad I SOUND BETTER!

I’m a big fan of the sites concept of bringing musicians & clients together. For regular users the system works well, but for new users, a better prompt/ reminder system would make the experience a lot better.

I am tired and extremely disappointed with my experience using SoundBetter.

We paid for professional mixing services for our music, expecting a professional standard of work. Unfortunately, the mix we received was not acceptable to us- There were noticeable issues with the sound, including distortion, and we did not feel the finished work was of a standard we could use for our release. basically the mixer/even though we gave a full and details of how we wanted the music to sound, when it was sent back to us, it was so poor, my word..

We raised our concerns and, after experiencing problems with the mix, made the decision not to continue with the service. We were not asking for anything unreasonable; we simply wanted a fair resolution after paying for a service that we felt had not been delivered to an acceptable professional standard.

What has been particularly frustrating is the handling of the dispute. We have been left feeling that the customer has very little protection when a service does not meet reasonable expectations.What has made this experience even more disappointing is the way our dispute and request for our money back have been handled.

As UK consumers, we understand that services are subject to statutory protections under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including Section 49, which requires services to be performed with reasonable care and skill. The Act also provides remedies where a service does not meet the required standard, including repeat performance and, in appropriate circumstances, a price reduction under Sections 55 and 56.
We have now paid money for mixing that we cannot use, while also potentially having to find and pay another professional to mix our music properly. That means we are effectively paying twice for the same service. This is absolutely disgusting. We have just been waiting around and delayed; it has been very traumatising for all of us
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, services must be carried out with reasonable care and skill (Section 49). Where a service does not meet the required standard, the Act provides remedies including repeat performance and, where the relevant conditions are met, a price reduction which can, where appropriate, amount to the full price paid (Sections 55–56).

This has been an extremely disappointing experience, and I would strongly encourage other artists to make sure they understand exactly what protection they have if they are unhappy with the work they receive.

For independent artists putting their own money into their music, this is not a small matter. Every pound matters, and we should be able to expect a professional service and a fair dispute process.
