Created by Abi Selby, Spabreaks.com is a spa booking service working with more than 1300 spa destinations in the UK and overseas and arranging spa days and breaks for up to 6,000 people each week. From a small team of three, we have grown to a family of more than 90 members of staff with an office of knowledgeable spa consultants in Brighton. But those are just the numbers. Spabreaks.com's founding principle was to make the world of spa more accessible to anybody and everybody who wanted to go. We wanted to bring back the ancient purpose of spas as places of sanctuary for mind and body. We wanted to showcase the variety of spa experiences available to every individual, occasion, location and preference. Crucially, we wanted to make spas more accessible to anyone with a major health problem or disability, and work with industry leaders to make sure that anyone who had previously felt marginalised never feels that way again. Over the past decade, that’s exactly what we’ve done. We believe in the many positive benefits of spa experiences and that they can and should be available to help the health and wellbeing of everybody. That’s why we are working to make spas accessible and enjoyable for every body by providing an unrivalled choice of spas and spa packages, through first class service and convenience for all of our customers. Our ‘spa break for every body’ ethos is central to what we do. When we started Spabreaks.com, spas were often seen as the domain of women with too much money and too much time on their hands, and that they were for a stereotypical ‘body beautiful’. We believe that spa experiences are for real benefit to all of us and that spas are places where everyone should feel safe and looked after. We believe they are for everyone at every age, gender, weight and state of wellness, and that there are experiences, treatments and destinations that everybody and every body can enjoy. Dreadful experience

Very poor customer service and voucher

Very poor customer service.
Got a voucher from a relative for Xmas for a spa afternoon, with Hot chocolate and Ginger biscuits.
Tried to book in January, and they said I could only book in January (even though the voucher was valid till dec 2026. They also said "Hot chocolate and Ginger biscuits will no longer be available."
To make it short, they then told me that I could book something else, asked a different date. It took them a month to reply, 2 days before the potential booking.
I was initially offered a refund via email, which I then asked for, but they said it's not possible.
In short, it's very tedious, the customer service is poor, not worth the painful booking and lack of consideration from the team.

You're better off booking direct yourself!

Pretty poor. Aside from the fact that the venue itself - Last Drop Village near Bolton - was an absolute dump, I did not hear anything back from Spabreaks after booking. I chased by email - no response. I called and was told they'd follow up with the spa and email me back - nothing. Desperately, I rang the "spa" itself and was told they'd emailed me (I'd received nothing). Turns out they'd been given an incorrect email address for me by Spabreaks. This was frustrating and annoying. I had to chase the "spa" and do all of the running around myself. It would have been easier (and possibly cheaper) to book direct myself! Also, don't they quality check the venues. Last Drop Village's "spa" is run-down, dirty, horrible. No one should pay to use the "facilities" there!

To provide some context, Spabreaks.com acts as a booking agent for over 550 UK-based spas and hotels. As part of our standard process, your chosen venue will usually confirm your full itinerary and treatment times directly with you via email or phone within 48 to 72 hours of making your booking.

We sincerely apologise that this itinerary confirmation did not reach you as expected on this occasion.

Because our reservation system automatically securely transmits the contact details provided at the time of booking, the venue would only have had access to that specific email address. We truly apologise for the frustration caused if there was a technical glitch or an error in their communication system.

Our Customer Service Team did attempt to assist you with this issue via both phone and email, but we unfortunately did not receive a response from the spa prior to your stay.

We always want our guests to have a thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable experience, and it is incredibly disappointing to hear that your visit fell short. Please be assured that we have passed your feedback directly to our regional Product Manager for their attention.

The staff were completely rude and inconsiderate

The staff were completely rude and inconsiderate. I was 10 minutes late to my massage and the massage lasted a total of 24 minutes and I had timed it. Obviously when the massage ended a lot earlier than expected and I questioned, the masseuse was very snappy and rude with her response and left the room abruptly. When I spoke to the lady at the desk she was sitting right next to the manager who ignored me completely and had no desire to rectify or even apologise for the inconvenience. The treatment was supposed to be 40 minutes and as I paid £112 I think it’s absolutely ridiculous that I couldn’t even get a full 30 minutes. My main issue is how rude, unprofessional and inconsiderate the staff were. Do not book as the staff clearly do not care about customers who are paying their hard earned money for a massage.

Excellent service

I needed help with a gift voucher that was due to expire. I emailed and phoned the team at Spabreaks.com and both services were excellent in communication and advice. The experience was completely ruined…

The experience was completely ruined and would not use this company again.
I booked the Sunday Escape package with one 1-hour spa treatment for each guest, but instead we were incorrectly issued a golf package voucher.
As the booking was non-refundable and there was no option to amend the booking through my account, I contacted Spabreaks immediately by email to explain the mistake. Shortly afterwards, I received a booking amendment email showing the second guest’s name together with an allocated treatment time, so I reasonably understood this to mean that the booking had been corrected and both treatments were confirmed.
However, when I later contacted the spa directly to confirm the arrangements, I was informed that the second treatment had never actually been booked and there were no available treatment slots left on the day.
I contacted Spabreaks again requesting either a treatment credit or appropriate resolution, as we did not use any golf facilities and did not receive the treatment that had effectively been implied as confirmed. Unfortunately, my email was completely ignored.
The entire experience was extremely disappointing and completely ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing spa day. The communication was misleading, customer service was poor, and the issue was never properly resolved. Based on this experience, I would not use this company again.

I was sorry to hear that there was some confusion regarding your recent booking. I have fully investigated your reservation and our subsequent communications, and I would like to provide some clarification.

While your chosen venue, The All Saints Resort, does offer a "Sunday Escape" package (which includes a 60-minute spa treatment per person), the package you selected and booked online was the "Overnight Spa and Golf Retreat." This specific package includes a 60-minute spa treatment for the first guest and 18 holes of golf for the second guest.

Our records show that we received your request on May 6th regarding a preference for both guests to receive spa treatments. We responded the very same day to clarify exactly what your online booking included. In that message, we advised that you would need to change your package selection if you wished to swap the round of golf for a second spa treatment.

As we did not receive a reply or any further pre-travel communication from you until your checkout date on May 25th, your booking remained exactly as originally selected. Had we received a request to amend your package prior to your arrival, our Customer Services Team would have been more than happy to assist you with upgrading the booking and processing any additional balance required.
