Customer Service is terrible

My flight was cancelled at the last minute, leaving me stranded without any reasonable alternatives. I was not offered a replacement flight until four days later, which is an unacceptable delay. Additionally, no assistance was provided for accommodations during this time, nor was there any support offered to address the significant inconvenience caused.
To make matters worse, my vehicle was located at another airport three states away, creating further logistical and financial hardship due to the cancellation and lack of timely rebooking options.
Overall, the situation demonstrated a serious lack of customer care and support during what was already a stressful disruption. I would like a clear explanation of why no timely alternative or accommodation assistance was provided, and I am requesting appropriate compensation for the expenses and inconvenience caused.

I had a very frustrating experience…

I had a very frustrating experience with Spirit Airlines that completely disrupted my travel plans.

First, they changed my return flight just two days before my trip, which already caused inconvenience. Then, after I had already arrived at my destination, my return flight was suddenly canceled entirely the next day. The only alternative they offered was a new flight on May 9 — far too late to be a reasonable solution.

To make matters worse, if I wanted to return sooner, I would have had to purchase new tickets at a cost of around $1000, while Spirit was only offering me a refund of $315. This is completely unacceptable and unfair, especially considering the situation was entirely caused by the airline.

The lack of reliable service, poor communication, and inadequate compensation made this a very stressful and disappointing experience. I would not recommend Spirit Airlines based on how they handled this situation.

Customer Service???

I needed to add wheelchair assistance to my reservation with Spirit Airlines, and the process was extremely frustrating. There is no way to request this directly on their website or mobile app, which is surprising for such an important service.

I tried using the chat feature and entered all my information, only to be told by an AI system that a live agent would follow up via text. After waiting about 30 minutes, an agent finally contacted me—but then asked me to repeat the same questions I had already answered.

After another delay, I was told I would need to be transferred to a different department that handles disability-related requests. At that point, I gave up.
All this just to get wheelchair assistance.

This airline has to be the worst

This airline has to be the worst. They continue to delay flights but can’t make sure you make your connecting flight, when speaking to customer service the only options outside of the next flight in 24 hours later, they only have suggestions to make you have to spend more money, the simple solution you running connecting flights hold them it’s simple…if you can afford it don’t take spirit and definitely not a connecting flight

This was not clearly explained anywhere. It feels misleading and unfair. What looks like a cheap ticket ends up being much more expensive due to hidden fees.

I would not recommend flying with Spirit.

Worst Customer Service

I am extremely frustrated with my experience dealing with Spirit Airlines’ customer service. For the past month, I have been trying to redeem a flight credit, and the process has been nothing short of exhausting and unproductive.

Despite multiple attempts to resolve this issue, I have been unable to get any meaningful assistance. Reaching a live representative is already difficult, but trying to escalate the matter to a supervisor is even worse. The process feels intentionally obstructive, with no clear path to speak with someone who has the authority to actually fix the problem.

What’s even more disappointing is the complete lack of follow-up. I have sent emails and requested callbacks, yet I have not received a single response. It gives the impression that once they have your money, customer concerns are no longer a priority.

Customer service should be about resolving issues efficiently and respectfully, but in this case, it feels like the opposite. The lack of communication, transparency, and accountability is unacceptable. A month is more than enough time to address a simple request like redeeming a flight credit.

At this point, I would not recommend Spirit Airlines to anyone who values reliable customer support or straightforward processes. This experience has been unnecessarily stressful, and it has completely eroded my trust in the company.

They will lose your bag and not reimburse you

Spirit Airlines lost my bag on an international flight. I had to complain to an employee who was very helpful but didn't properly file a claim. I was also not able to file a claim on my own because they had a QR code that didn't work with external booking confirmations (I used booking.com to book this flight). My bag was returned the next day, but I had to make some purchases in the meantime. I was told by the employee that I could claim it as long as it's reasonable. I made sure it was reasonable, but because I wasn't able to use their QR code and the employee didn't file a proper claim, I was never able to get reimbursed for my purchases. They also showed no empathy for this situation that they created. Avoid Spirit. I know it's cheaper than alternatives but they will leave you out to dry.

Sehr Unzuverlässig die schlimmste Airline ever

Erst war der Flug verspätet dann wurde er gecancelt und das alles um Mitternacht super 👍 das war der letze Flug lieber bezahle ich mehr und kann mich darauf verlassen das es reibungslos ist. Hier gilt auch der Spruch wer billig kauft zahlt zweimal bei uns in Hinsicht

First the flight was delayed, then it was cancelled, and all this at midnight! Great! 👍 That was my last flight. I'd rather pay more and be able to rely on things going smoothly. The saying "you get what you pay for" definitely applies here, especially when it comes to hotel rooms.

Greyhound of the sky!!

My experience with Spirit Airlines was awful from start to finish. A last-minute cancellation pushed my flight to the next morning, wrecking my plans and costing me $82 in Lyft rides. Even worse, I was charged an extra $100 for a carry-on bag that was included in my original booking — I was told I had to pay that ransom or be denied boarding. The combination of unreliable scheduling and blatant upselling felt like extortion, and the financial and emotional toll of their incompetence was unacceptable. I will never fly Spirit again and strongly advise others to avoid them unless you want to risk surprise cancellations, forced baggage fees, and a total lack of accountability.

Cancelled my flight 3 days before my…

Cancelled my flight 3 days before my trip to Medellín after I booked the flight 2 months in advance. Then, they had no other flights going that day so I had to request refund and buy a new ticket with a different airline and they wouldn’t pay the difference so I’ll make sure I never purchase a Spirit flight again. They offer bare minimum of service, planes are trash and flight attendants ghetto and unprofessional

They are robbers

They are robbers. They canceled my flight from Austin to Newark. I rescheduled for the only flight available which was late in the evening the day after my original flight. It turns out the flight had an overnight layover in Orlando which wouldn’t get us home to the next day. When I wanted to cancel the flight and get my money back so I could book with another airline, they refused to refund any of the money saying I checked the box to reschedule so there was nothing they could refund. They would t even refund my checked bag fee. Robbers. Also I waited over two hours to chat with someone who could tell me they wouldn’t refund the money.

Absolutely the worst airline experience…

Absolutely the worst airline experience I have ever had. Spirit Airlines completely ruined our family vacation.

When we arrived at the airport, there was only one employee working the entire Spirit counter while a huge line of passengers waited for help. We stood there for over two hours just to speak with someone. The lack of staff and organization was unbelievable.

After finally speaking with a manager, we were rebooked onto another flight. We went through TSA and waited at the gate, only to be told that flight was canceled as well. When we went back to the desk to ask for help, we were told there were no flights to Orlando until Sunday night, even though our entire trip and Disney plans were scheduled for Saturday.

This wasn’t just a flight—it was our entire Disney vacation. We had already purchased Disney tickets, a hotel, and a rental car, and the cancellations completely ruined the trip.

To make matters worse, Spirit Airlines is refusing to issue a refund and is only offering a credit instead. After canceling multiple flights and leaving passengers stranded, offering a credit instead of a refund is unacceptable.

The airport desk was severely understaffed, customer service was extremely poor, and there was no accountability for the disruption they caused. This experience has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing.

I will never fly with Spirit Airlines again, and I strongly recommend others think twice before booking with them.
