Open College are extremely helpful to offer advice & support throughout your learning. The course materials are informative and relevant. Anytime I needed to contact Open College they were more than willing to listen, assist and support solution.

The response was very swift. I couldn’t have hoped for the waiting time to be so short. I was really impressed.

The Open College is a great citadel of learning. The administrative staff' are excellent and efficient when it comes to dealing with queries. Anne Sandford is exceptional. I would recommend The Open College to those looking to excel in their chosen fields/careers.

I've just completed The Open College, Train the Trainer Course (QQI Level 6) Online and cannot recommend it highly enough. I learnt a lot over the course of eight weeks. I'd highly recommend the course to anyone who is looking to become a Certified Trainer or who wants to learn more about Training Delivery and Evaluation. The tutor Lorraine is extremely knowledgeable in her field. Lorraine's weekly sessions were extremely beneficial and enjoyable. I would recommend this course and The Open College to anyone.

The communication was perfect, whenever I needed any assistance in my assignments my tutor was extremely responsive. The course itself was intriguing and I really enjoyed being able to work at my own pace.

Poor Tutor , Irrelevant material , Assignments must be a minimum of 500 words from a one sentence Requirement . Feedback Absolutely awful from tutors . Take to long to respond to emails . Basically a money racket unless your doing really low level stuff . Better off paying the money to an established Educator & Not money grabbers looking for an extra few euro in resubmission fees. In 2009 I was made redundant after spending ten year's in a team leader role in a major manufacturing company where on a daily basis I worked with different team sizes of between six and forty two people and loved every minute of it. I had departed school at fifteen year's of age after my Mother Died with very little education other than the knowledge and experience that I had gained from minding my Mam from the age of nine.I began volunteering with the Special Olympics and also joined a local Fas scheme.I enjoyed these so much that I decided to register for a course in Intellectual Disabilities with The Open College in 2010. This was a very frightening experience for me considering that I was fifty year's old and returning to education which was also now computerised and online.The Open College could not have been more helpful or understanding the online tutors and mentors were amazing and helped me every step of the way.
Our Internet is poor because we live in the middle of nowhere and when I asked if they could post me the exam material in hardback format aswell as email, they had no problem with this.
I personally found this very helpful as I could put it in a folder, study it, highlight the main points and then handwrite my assignments which could be typed up at a later stage.
After completing the Intellectual Disability module I was over the Moon not realising that I needed a Major Award to regain employment.I now had a decision to make I could sit back and complain that I tried or I could convince myself to drive on and to try harder. Thankfully I chose the latter.
After a significant time lapse I contacted the Open College again and explained my mistake they fully understood and they also stood over the fact that I had previously paid a registration fee and that if I decided to continue that the registration fee would not be applied a second time which I was very grateful for.
Since I completed my Health Care Major Award with The Open College in 2013 I have had the Amazing opportunity of working with children with severe and profound health issues, children and adults with special needs, elderly people and also over thirty cases of palliative care. The Open College and it's online mentor's ,tutors and administration staff gave me the opportunity to change my life and the live's of those that I care for on a daily basis. I cannot recommend The Open College highly enough.
Do I have any regret's ? The only regret that I have is that I did not continue and complete a Degree which would have allowed me to convince, coach and train other's into achieving what I did. Thank You.

Really poor platform and really poor service. Never received my result after waiting for a couple of weeks. The terms and conditions only appear to apply to the student not the college.

Applied for a course but after 5 days I couldn't find work placement so due to the cancellation policy, I decided to cancel my application and requested a refund in guidelines within the cancellation policy. I've been waiting nearly 3 weeks for a refund and the refund will not be in full as they charge you €150 for registration fee. Also when I was applying and cancelling my application I had to fill out questions such as provide summary of my education, skills, previous work exp etc along with proof of qualifications and when I was cancelling my application they needed to know why I was cancelling my application. Felt like I was applying for a job and not a course with all the questions they wanted answered and proof provided. Would not recommend this college to anyone. Very disappointed

I completed a QQ1 In care support worker and it was brilliant, tutors amazing great feed back and really quick getting results I acheived all distinction except for one module I passed which was my own fault just hadn't done online exam before and messed that up but I would highly recommend this college I just wish my level 6 course was on there college because my next course unfortunately in a different college was nk comparison to the them.Thk you open college and all the great tutors.i done my course in 2021.Thks Louise Murphy.

I have just submitted my last assignment which should have been submitted end of august. I just want to thank the Open College, and my lectures Lorraine Walsh and Siobhan Browne for being so patient and helpful in one of the hardest years of my life.. Thank you for giving me the confidence for sticking it out even when I wanted to give up.

I have recently finished my level 6 early childhood care and education qualification online. My experience with this college over the last period of time has been nothing but amazing, they are so understanding and supportive towards you no matter what the situation may be. I also would like to thank joe for been so understanding and helpful when I fell behind on my course due to personal circumstances, he was always reassuring me and helped me reach my goal of completing the course. I could not recommend this college more to do online courses as I completed my level 5&6 with them online, and they have been nothing but amazing. I look forward to going onto further my studies with this college in the future.

I just completed a course with the open college. It was very easy and enjoyable. I had a dedicated tutor that I could email for support, and a helpline that I could phone. It was very professional, easy to follow, and I felt fully supported. I would highly recommend to anyone who needs flexible study options.

The latest module I completed was business management. Although I have done several others, this particular module and tutor were excellent. The content was very well laid out, clear and concise, and very informative. Communication with the tutor was a breeze, and feedback from my draft assignments came back to me far quicker than I expected. Overall, this was a very positive experience for me and has given me the confidence to continue with my studies.

I recently completed the train the trainer award and found it to be Exactly as described , distance learning. This means you have to be self motivated and be able to set aside time within those 8 weeks to complete the assignments .
Be accountable to yourself.

I purposely looked for a course like this as I have two jobs and a small child I did not have time to attend a course in person.
If you feel you need the added learning experience of a classroom then look for that, as I’ve read some of the past reviews and I can’t help but wonder what they expected !
I completed the course in 4 weeks regardless of my other commitments and experience was made all the better for meeting the outstanding tutor Lorraine Walsh . Lorraine is so knowledgeable and passionate and really cares about her students . She runs drop ins so students can ask for guidance and this was invaluable.
I thoroughly enjoyed the course and don’t mind waiting on certification ( as I see it can be an issue ) as my employer was happy enough to see my provisional results !

I wound absolutely recommend the open college and Lorraine Walsh’s courses in particular !

I'm currently doing my Level 6 Major Childcare award in early childhood and eductaion i am nearly finished and OMG the Open College have been more then helpfull and supportive ,friendly and more .I find them very good they really help you as much as they can and so friendly and if stuck they really do their best They always reply back and if need extra time etc they are brilliant and accommodate you as much as they can . All the staff are brilliant and friendly .tutors are lovely .My Communication module OMG i was literally a bag of nerves with stress over it but my Tutur Lorraine Walsh was absolutely 💯% flipping amazing with the help and support and the online lesson sessions are so fun and put you at ease can't miss them .she cares so much and so dedicated and be lost completely without the help .Lorraine gives you so much advice and help and enthusiasm and she answers any question you ask. She makes you feel better bout what your doing and takes away the stress and Lorraine literally gave me the confidence and strength in doing the communication module and completing the rest of them . Honestly didn't think i could do it but she helped me and I found it 10 time easier with her friendly personality she is a absolute legend and I truly appreciate all she does and did and she just makes everyone feel at ease .A Asset to the college .but I am Really 100 % glad I'm doing my Level 6 with the Open College and Highly recommend to anyone doing a course online. 5 stars and more . Even the layout and login and all the modules presented so good and all the staff .admin etc are truly all supportive and so quick at replying and friendly . All the tutors off each module etc are so skilled and helpfull/ friendly . I truly am thankfull and appreciate all they do and did and seriously the Open College and the courses definitely recommend 👌 😊😀 💯%
