Gastric Sleeve November 2025
From the day I contacted Tonic and spoke to Lydia, I felt like I was speaking to people who cared about me in the long term. It was not about money for them!
Having given me time to make my decision, and book my surgery well in advance of the date, I had exemplary contact, information and engagement with nutritionist, psychotherapist and nursing staff. This literally blew me away!
My stay in hospital, care team and Surgeon, Mr Alkhafaf, and the entire theatre team made my surgery a completely straightforward and calm experience.
The aftercare team have since been exemplary! Nothing seems a problem to them, they are on had to answer my questions and never make me feel like I’m bothering them!
I will admit, I have one regret, and that is not finding Tonic sooner!

From making the first enquiry to a year after surgery, the communication with everyone has been fantastic. From the dietician, PT, surgeon, nurses etc it’s been incredible support. I managed to loose 8.5 stone in 4ths after having a gastric sleeve surgery with Tonic. It’s completely changed my life, I’m happy, healthy and have a new found confidence.

Tonic has been amazing I have lost 5 stone 8 pounds since I started my LRD and I would highly recommend using them.Without all there help I wouldn’t be as happy and as healthy to where I am now it has changed my life my starting weight was 23 stone and I am a 24 year old with a 3 year old daughter and already I have noticed a massive changed by being able to do things that I couldn’t before like going to soft play and going down a slide.Its changed my life I’ve had no side effect or sickness and everyone at tonic who ring to check up on you are amazing.

I cannot recommend Tonic Surgery highly enough. This was my second surgery with them, and once again the experience was exceptional from start to finish. I previously had a gastric sleeve in 2023, and more recently a breast uplift and implants in December 2025, and both journeys have been incredibly positive.

The entire team are absolutely fabulous — professional, caring, and supportive at every stage. Professor Hindocha was especially wonderful: so friendly, approachable, and he truly listened and understood exactly what I wanted, which gave me complete confidence in my decision.

From the initial consultations through to aftercare, the whole process has been smooth, reassuring, and extremely well managed. I felt safe, informed, and looked after throughout.

Hi I’m Charlene and I had my surgery on the 23rd October 2025, from the minute I called up and booked this surgery I knew it was the right place for me. The staff are extremely helpful and reassuring. I wanted bariatric surgery for a very long time but was way too scared but between tonic staff and the hospital and my surgeon I was fully at ease.

You have so much support again before and after surgery. The dietician is great with check ins often and always on the other end of the phone. The nurse is amazing kind and so caring. The thing I love most about tonic is their transparency and honesty. I am 8 weeks post now and honestly I was at first worried and questioned myself why I’d done this to myself, now I’m getting into the swing of my new life. Trust the process it really is an amazing journey.

The only piece of advice I can give you is this , ask all the questions you want , follow the liver reduction diet and always listen and follow post op advice it’s their for a reason.

Tonic have been absolutely amazing! From my weight loss surgery back in 2023 to tummy tuck/breast reduction in October 2025 I feel that I not only had the best care and surgeons, but the support provided was outstanding. My life has truly changed for the better and I am just so grateful to all at Tonic for their support. Not that I really had any issues, but if I did have any questions pre or post surgeries there was always someone friendly on hand to help, and the surgeons I had for gastric sleeve and cosmetic surgery were extremely knowledgeable. I suffered with minimal issues after all surgeries and the recovery was great. I really wouldn't recommend to go anywhere else other than Tonic, and if I ever need anything else in the future they will be who I contact.

Considering this is a huge life changing decision I have absolutely no regrets when it comes to getting surgery with Tonic. If I need another surgery in future I plan on going back to them. From their initial communication with you to getting information about my surgeon to be contacted after the surgery, and being able to contact them myself, I am very happy with the care and support I've received from Tonic.

Tonic have been fantastic all the way through the process. Helping prepare for surgery and the aftercare is brilliant. So many different people and departments all working to make the process easier for the patient. I was in Luton hospital at the Cobham centre which was immaculate and all staff there were very friendly and helpful. Overall a great experience with these guys. Would highly recommend

After many years of struggling with my weigh and trying every medication and injection on the market. I decided it was time i needed gastric sleeve surgery. I search multiple different private weight loss company and due to my BMI spires wanted £17500 and only one years aftercare. I done some more research and found tonic the price was brilliant to what I had been quoted. From start to finish my experience has been amazing and not to mention the 5 years after care. I had my surgery on the 19th of July and I’m now 6 stone down. My surgeon Mr Alan Askari was brilliant with me and explained procedure beforehand and came to see me after the surgery and the morning after. The aftercare has been Amazing. I feel very supported on my journey by tonic alway regular checks ins with the bariatric nurse consultant. Thank you Tonic one very happy patient with the outcome so far.

I used Tonic 3 years ago for mini gastric bypass and have never looked back i can not believe the amount of weight I've lost and the service I received was second to non from day 1 the team were brilliant from initial appointment to all the after care I would definitely recommend them if your considering surgery .

I was originally contemplating going abroad for weight loss surgery, purely due to cost, but felt vulnerable about travelling post-surgery and fearful that the NHS wouldn't pick up any post-operative problems.
After some research, I chose Mr Awad and Tonic. I am SO glad that I did. A simple and thorough process from start to finish. Lots of support available post-operatively and beyond.
Highly recommend and I am 58 next month and after yo-yo dieting for 40 years. The freedom is amazing.

I was considering gastric sleeve surgery for years. The idea of surgery was drastic to me so I always had one more try. Cutting carbs was great. I lost weight quick and then kept it off for a couple of months before the bingeing restarted and I ended up bigger than when I started. Then the weight loss jabs. I didn’t really lose much on them at all and was on them for almost a year. I felt tired and would have stomach pains. I decided the side effects weren’t worth the poor results and came off them, again gaining more than I started. I’ve always been on a diet since being a child. I wanted freedom from the constant restriction and shame cycles. So I took the plunge in October this year and I haven’t regretted it. From start to now the service from tonic has been amazing. I was never pressured or ‘sold’ anything. The surgeon gave a thorough consultation and explained the procedure and any risks. Everyone I have been in contact with has been wonderful and supportive but honest and informative. Since my op I’ve had regular contact with the nurse, dietician and PT. The support is incredible and I only wish I had done this sooner instead of giving other options a go.

The staff are so helpful and understanding fro. The first phone call right through to 6/7 weeks post surgery which is where I'm at to date. I can't fault any aspect of my experience with this wonderful company.

Excellent experience from day 1. Well laid out framework, I got to choose my surgeon. Post-op care was second to none! Daily calls for the first week, then after that I could easily reach out by email if needed. A lot of information booklets provided on several aspects of the journey including emotional and psychological aspects. Facebook support group is really helpful. Using tonic, you are bound to succeed. I am very glad I chose to go with them.

From booking the consultation to the aftercare I have received I have had 5 star treatment.

I had my gastric sleeve January 2023.
From the first phone call tonic answered all my questions and worries , I thought I was too old at 67.
Had the op at Luton & Dunstable hospital under mr Al-taan, lovely man. One night stay and the nurses were so kind.
Follow up has been helpful, always answer emails or phone calls promptly.
As a lot of people say, I wish I’d done it sooner.

What a great experience it’s been with Tonic.

I contacted them at a low ebb about a Gastric Sleeve and was immediately helped by the team there, originally with Layla but Louise, Lisa, Harry and others have all been incredibly supportive.

Before Tonic I’d spoken to other parties but the difference was that they all felt like they were selling me a product while Tonic felt more like they wanted to help and cared about the process, my wellbeing and making sure everything was a good fit for me

The whole process went so smoothly and I went from the initial call to surgery in 5 weeks. All through that time I met with the nurses, dietitian, PT, physiologist and others to explain the process pre and post op so there would be no surprises.

On the day everything went exactly to plan I met the amazing Dr Adamo who set my mind and ease and did such a great job that I had very little pain and was out for short walks in just 2-3 days and very tidy little scars. I can’t thank him enough. The hospital was like a hotel and the staff couldn’t do enough to make sure I was comfortable and ready to leave the next day.

Post op, again the support is what makes the difference. The initial daily check ins were so reassuring and all the guidance on the food processes was so detailed and well supported it never felt like a stressful time and allowed me to just focus on my recovery.

Currently I’m 6 weeks post operation and this week I have a check with my PT Harry and a call with the dietitian as I go back to solid foods, it may not seem much, but this support is what takes away to worries and makes the difference in keeping you on track.

Currently I have lost 23kgs in 8 weeks and I’m beginning to see the light at the end of a long tunnel, I’m moving more, feeling better, enjoying food again and my wife is so pleased to see me happier and with spring in my step again.

I highly recommend the sleeve to anyone struggling with the enormous challenge of weight loss and I cannot recommend Tonic highly enough - forget the rest and book with the best!
