I ordered parts to put together some industrial style lighting in my kitchen. The website is easy to use and product descriptions are exact. Items arrived very quickly in eco-friendly cardboard and paper packaging, complete with more plugs, screws and fittings than I needed. My new favourite lighting shop!

I'm working on a project to create an unusual freestanding room light / lamp and needed various lengths of conduit and things. Normally you can only buy it in 3m lengths with a thread at each end so if you have to cut it you'll end up without threads where you need them! Contractors who use it a lot have their own cutting and thread taping tools, but I certainly don't!

Therefore the only reason I found and bought anything from Urban Cottage Industries was because they sold various short lengths of good quality galvanised 20mm conduit pre-cut and ready threaded at the ends.... while at it I also bought a few fittings and things, eg. male & female 20mm connectors, a T-piece inspection coupler etc...

Well, I'm glad I found them and glad I went ahead with the purchase....

It all arrived very promptly and reliably delivered by DPD just two days later (I'd ordered in the evening too late for next day).

All was as described and very nicely and attractively hand packed. You can see that someone there does take a genuine pride in what they do!

...anyhow - all in a all a very positive experience and therefore highly recommended.

I placed an order for 6 pendant lights, recieved the usual confirmation email. I then received another email the day after advising there was a problem with the order and it had been cancelled - no explanation. I checked again on the website and the price of the lights had suddenly gone up, obviously they advised them at the wrong price, although it was comparable to most other prices of the same type/quality. I emailed to request an explanation but was totally ignored! If that is what the customer service is like before you even buy, I dread to think what it is like if you have a problem after purchase. I will be steering well clear and advise others to consider closely if they are considering a purchase.

Ordered an amazing 5-lightbulb steampunk ceiling light from this company but wasn't sure which bulbs would best suit our rather dark home office. Spoke to an extremely helpful guy from the company who assured me that he had just the perfect bulbs in mind and he was so right. Everything arrived intact and beautifully packaged and the end result looks amazing. Would recommend.

Great quality product and great service, all UK made from a employee co-owned company that supports the local community. Perfect.

I ordered over 900US dollars worth of lights and found out it was going to cost me over 300US to ship them back after not being able to use them. The company made no effort to solve this issue and now I'm stuck with light fixtures I can't use. Horrible customer service and zero integrity in my opinion. Beware US residents when ordering from this company.

I love Urban Cottage Industries products and the quality is always excellent, delivered quickly and well packaged. I recently placed an order but them I had a call - because unbeknownst to me - I had messed up my order. Paul explained the issue, advised me on how to change it, sorted out the admin and saved me a whole lot of hassle . I really appreciated his proactive help and guidance, as it would have been a real issue if the 'wrong' bits turned up.

I’ve been waiting for galvanised double sockets to come back into stock for months. Someone from Urban Cottage Ind advised that as soon as they were back in stock I would be told. I had a look yesterday and found they were in stock. My client has been waiting for these for ages. I’ve now ordered from the Workshop Below who are cheaper and have found conduit a lot cheaper elsewhere too.

Excellent company and service. I firstly ordered some free samples of cable to see what colours were available. The box containing mini samples arrived the next day and was completely free - no postage or other costs.

I then ordered some cable in my chosen colour. Ordered on Sunday, arrived on Tuesday. Really great quality and received almost 10% extra too.

Only problem is that now I want to replace all the other cable in my house.

Absolutely brilliant! I bought 3 lamp holders and some fabric cable so I could make my own bespoke light. I emailed them with some questions and they were all answered promptly. They even offers to put it all together for me for a small charge. Very good quality. Definitely recommend and would order from them again!

I purchased a Single Outlet Ceiling Rose. The quality is very good. It arrived in paper packaging great for the environment. It came with everything needed including a length of earth wire.

I rang them to check something and got through to a friendly person who answered my question.

Great experience, ordered a specialist large globe bulb, ordered on the 12th Dec and it arrived on the 14th Dec. Beautifully packaged in recyclable brown paper packaging and cardboard, bulb intact as double boxed and well packed. Would recommend this company!
