My sand and cement order never got delivered :-( Ok, the lorry broke down…I can accept that. Delivery was then rearranged at Wickes convenience (…not the next day, but the day after…fair enough). This day came and went with no delivery…3 days wasted. Called the store (no call from Wickes) to be told there was a mess up their end with the rebooking and offered delivery the following week!...had to request a refund. Having planned to complete a small project in the garden this week I’m feeling very let down. If I could give no stars right now I would. Wickes never let me down so badly before.

Terrible experience in the Basingstoke store today. We had a kitchen design journey appointment booked, which is step 1 as per Wickes website:

We were booked with Donnae and I have never had such a poor customer service experience in any shop in all my life. She immediately told us (very rudely, might I add) that we had booked the wrong appointment type and what we had was no use to her. She made no attempt to explain the correct process or what we should have done instead, and made me feel like an idiot.

There is a right way to inform a customer of a misunderstanding, and a wrong way - she went with the latter.

The information she was able to give us was confusing, unhelpful and the least inspiring “sale pitch” we’ve ever experienced. We walked out after not even ten minutes. We weren’t going to spend tens and tens of thousands on a kitchen, we explained what we needed and she couldn’t have been less interested if she tried.

We ended up going to Wren and saw Ellie where her customer service is second to none, and we’ve just spent £12,000 with her instead.

What a great visit ,the staff are knowledgeable and so helpful. I’m regularly called on for DIY help with family so I visit often and have always found the store easy to navigate and staff always helpful and never have a problem. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Staff were very helpful, they took the time to help me find what I’m looking for and get it to the till. As a disabled visitor I struggle sometimes to get around stores but this was easy and the staff were great . Thank you

Not being a regular DIY'er, I had no idea where to find the items I was looking for on a recent project. Staff were patient and helpful in finding all the items I needed.

Olu was extremely helpful and kind, and patient with me as obviously I didn’t know what exactly I needed- she asked me about it and helped me find the correct product which worked perfectly

Sarah was so accommodating and nothing was to much when we visited the Basingstoke store yesterday. Thanks to Sarah she helped us see how our tiny bathroom could look and we can't wait for our new bathroom in the coming months!

Have never experienced such POOR customer service,,waited nearly half hour at the click and collect,,watching as others just abandoned trollies full of materials and left in disgust. The ONLY member of staff that seemed interested, was a young lad stocking shelves who apologised for the long queues,,,,for god sake make that lad a manager, as the so called ones in charge had NO, idea what they were doing .!!!. Needless to say,gave up and took the business elsewhere. Just avoid the place and shop elsewhere would be my advice.

This is more about the home delivery service than the store. Being disabled i require more time to answer the door. Although I made wickes aware of this. It has become obvious that they haven't informed the delivery service as the delivery drivers just dump the goods on the garden and go. Leaving me to have to arrange for someone to move it within reach for me(by door).

We visited Wickes Basingstoke for a kitchen design consultation, which took over 30 minutes with one of their kitchen designers.

To our shock, we later received a £100 parking charge notice. It’s unbelievable that genuine customers are treated this way while spending time planning a purchase in-store.

This has left a very negative impression, and honestly makes us not want to return again. Very disappointing customer experience.

I went to Wickes Basingstoke for a bathroom, they charged me £100 for the car park!!! They give you a meeting and then you get an automatic parking charge!!! very unhappy that this was not explained by Wickes, if this is how they treat thier customers I will go elswhere.

I like wickes and use it quite a bit along with my local B&Q.
Went in to my local Basingstoke store today to get a couple of lengths of timber. No loose timber on display but plenty of packs which staff are usually happy to open. Today, a busy Saturday, I walked round the store for a good few minutes and not a single staff member on the floor to be found so I decided to leave. Admittedly you had 2 checkouts staffed today which is not usual for this store but I counted 10 people queueing to pay. Other than the checkout staff I didn't see any other staff available. Very poor show for a busy Saturday but usual during the week as well.
I went to B&Q which was also extremely busy. In and out in 5 minutes. Plenty of queues yes but all moving and I counted 8 staff persons on the checkouts.
Wickes, you need to be doing better. You are losing customers and sales due to very poor customer support.
