Wickes - Caerphilly Reviews 

Visited the Caerphilly store today , staff very polite and very helpful when I asked for some help in purchasing some patio slabs.
Store worker named Ian S. was amazing in getting the slabs onto my trolley, taking my payment at the till and then loading them into my car as I requested. Ian S. was very polite and I would recommend him and the store to anyone. Thank you Ian S.

When we attended the store we had an idea of what we wanted, from speaking with Ian he devised a plan we wouldn't have envisaged. The outcome was better than we thought, leaving us with a lot more space thank you Ian

I'd also like to say about the amazing job Matt has done, he completed the bathroom fitting and done a fantastic job, clean, efficient and very thorough, thank you both

Sarah, Ian, Sian were so knowledgeable and helpful when I visited the store. They had great ideas on how I could get my job done quicker and better and took time to help me choose materials and pack them in my car. Always excellent service at this store.

Liz from Caerphilly store provided exceptional service .She stopped what she was doing in the store and directed me around the store to find the exact products that were suitable for me .She also sought advice from the kitchen fitting department regarding the type of taps available to meet my requirements.

Sometimes a member of staff goes above and beyond what is expected. This was the case when I called in to buy some guttering and down pipe and also some sealant. I was assisted by a very helpful and knowledgeable gentleman who advised me on which type of guttering and also the best sealant to use. He said his name was Ian Suller. Because of him I will be using Wickes again in future. I'm very grateful to him.

Siôn was extremely helpful. Popped in for advice on replacing some damaged decking and he helped work out how many lengths needed, and arranged delivery to save me some hassle. Top job, and will def look out for him in the future if I need any advice.

Where to begin!! We have had a bathroom fitted last week. I’ll just give the highlights which will illustrate what to be careful with!
- They will tell you the installation date will be around 8 weeks from order if not sooner….we ordered in February and it was fitted last week, it’s July! They will wait for the 14 day cool off period before they confirm this!
- They gave us a date for the bathroom to be delivered 1 week before installation and state any other deliveries will arrive during the installation and the installation team will be there to accept them….in reality things started arriving a week before the agreed date and as no one was home it was left at the side of the house, there was also a pallet dumped on the drive! On the agreed delivery date the time was for after 0930…the delivery arrived at 0640 on the Saturday morning dragging my partner out of bed!
- The installation team were excellent and got the job done in 4 days, however I did need to get an electrician friend of mine in on the final day or we would have had to wait another 4 days to have a shower because the installers electrician was on holiday.
- When the survey was done by Wickes the main fuse box was deemed suitable however for the shower to operate SAFELY my electrician needs to replace the whole power board unit with a post 18, this would have cost us an extra £800/ 1000 had I not involved my mate!
After all this and the extra expenses (£3000) added to the original deal from Wickes (£7000) we were glad to get this nightmare over with!!!!
But there’s more…..our hot water tap now runs at a dribble, whenever you run the cold tap the overflow in the attic pumps out water onto the roof of our conservatory and all of the old bathroom is still in a large skip sack on our drive a week later!!!! But at least it’s over and we can get these problems sorted out ourselves. I can categorically state that I wouldn’t even buy a paintbrush from Wickes after such a shitshow of an experience!!!

Needed to buy a wheelbarrow at Wickes in Caerphilly, but as someone who is on a stick - I needed some help. Liz was great - quickly got the wheelbarrow I wanted, and then helped me get it into the car - which was VERY fiddly - she was patient and capable- many thanks. Much appreciated.

Sales assistant was helpful when I asked for assistance with three bags of chippings. Called Richard to come to my aid. He collected a trolley for me and put them into my car boot. He was chatty and friendly throughout.

We recently had a new kitchen from Wickes. Angela in the Caerphilly branch was very helpful with lots of good ideas. The kitchen is now fitted and looks great. Thank you.

I went in for some items for a bathroom renovation, and Sion and Jaqui were extremely helpful, despite it being nearly closing time.

Richard helpful with loading 100ltr bark chipping bags into my car.

Perhaps add signage by your internal stock of posts "looking for post caps/ met posts- please go outside" would help.

I called at at your caerphilly store for some paint that was needed at short notice and on checking the shelves i could not find the deluxe timeless in mat .
There was a lady working in the next asle so I asked if she could help.Her name was Liz.
She just dropped all that she was doing and saved the day as although it was out of stock she told me there was a pallet in the warehouse that may have it on there.
She came back after sometime with the 2 tins of paint in her hands covered in sweat as they were in the middle of the pallet.
She unloaded the whole pallet to help me.
Now that's what I call customer service 👏

I wanted a cordless hedge trimmer that was light weight however they didn't have any on display & boxed items did not specify the weight.
Liz in Caerphilly kindly opened a box for me so that I could handle the hedge trimmer to see if I could lift it effectively. Important to consider when you are non muscular female. She kindly packaged it back up for me securely taping the box & even thanked me for not ripping open the box to take a look at the item myself, something she said people sometimes have a tendency to do. Thank you Liz for your exceptional customer service. And yes I bought it, great price, light weight & easy to handle.

Chris at the store was absolutely fantastic I needed a lot of help and workings out for flooring he took the time with kindness and care to help me Sorting out all the amounts of flooring and underlay I would need He was absolutely fantastic .Actually all the staff I have had dealings with are so fantastic and helpful .
Thank you Chris I truly am grateful for your help but more importantly the manner in which your delivered that help to me Nothing was a problem to you .

Wickes Caerphilly kindly donated 21 bags of Multi-purpose Peat Free Compost towards our School’s Sensory Garden. Store Manager Ian couldn’t have been more helpful when organising the allocation and collection of the compost. The product is of fantastic quality, and our plants are thriving! Thanks again to Ian and the team at Wickes Caerphilly.

Great experience at Caerphilly store. I needed sand & cement however the aisle was closed off. Richard although he was busy saw that I needed to get stuff and offered to go and grab all the stuff as I was not allowed to go through. Massive help as I was in a rush. Thanks Richard
