Went into wicks this evening to look for some tile paint, i had spoken to a lad called reece, i had asked him for some help before i had even spoken to him, he looked visibly annoyed at the fact i had approached him, i then had asked him to show me where the tile paint was he had walked me to the paint section and went “it will be somewhere in this paint section” and had walked away before i could even ask where abouts it would be in the massive section of paint. All in all extremely rude and very unhelpful!

A huge help having Wicks Telford donate paint and equipment for us to renovate the entrance to the Salvation Army Hall in Oakengates.
We were able to choose delightful colours from their range that changed the ambiance and appearance of the reception area.

We’re so grateful to Wickes for supporting our school through the Wickes Community Programme. They kindly donated bags of bark and play sand for our Reception outdoor area, and it’s made such a difference to the children’s play and learning.

We wandered into Wickes Telford in April with the aim to get a new bathroom. To begin with the service through their design team was fantastic. We specced our bathroom out to meet our needs going for the Beaucroft range for the bathroom.

We went ahead with the quote and paid a large deposit, with the remainder being financed. Everything was ordered and our initial bathroom fitting was due to start on the 18th April. Packages began arriving up to two weeks before which wasn’t an issue. However when our bathroom fitter arrived a large portion of the bathroom was missing.

Our initial build timeframe was up to 2 weeks, so we would have the bathroom done for the beginning of may. Due to multiple delays, a lack of communication on wickes end and various other hold ups. Our bathroom wasn’t completed till the beginning of June. 6 weeks our spare bedroom was a tool store, as was our landing and we had an incomplete bathroom.

Since then we’ve had a complaint in with wickes regarding the delays and the fact we’ve had to have our builder source half of the materials instead. In addition the Bayswater panels have all blown. The bath panel blew out within a month due to not being sealed in correctly (our builder rushed the final stages clearly as he was very far behind) our sink drawer has also blown. Water has got behind the mdf and the same has happened to the toilet seat. Considering these are all 3 months old the quality is shocking. It’s bathroom furniture, it shouldn’t be doing this surely.

In addition there are a host of other issues including: lack of sealant on the bath panel, the panel around on our window has been installed at an angle, so water is running into the corner, collecting by the window where no panel has been added. Some tiles installed by them have been installed cracked on the floor which we were unaware of. Filler has been put in some places, but not others on the seams, tiles have been removed but they haven’t bothered to remove the old concrete from behind. With the radiator install we have raw plugs still in the wall from the old raditator, making it very difficult to remove. And our pipe work under the sink hasn’t been boxed in. The toilet flush doesn’t work properly, and the top lifts each time it’s flushed. And finally all of the shower fixtures are loose. They haven’t been fastened properly.

The overall fit and finish for a £9k bathroom has been disappointing to say the least. We’ve been discussing these issues since June with their customer service team. They’ve had plenty of chances to rectify the issues and have used the excuse that our builder (their approved builder) needs to come back and rectify it. Weeks we’ve had them ask oh has he contacted you this week, no worries we will chase. It’s been 3 months, more items have gone wrong. The last response we got was on the 17th of August. Again with them stating they’d chase. We’ve heard nothing.

We can’t be put through to the complaints team for compensation according to them until the issues with the bathroom are resolved by their approved fitter. At the point we are at we don’t feel comfortable with this fitter coming back.

I gave wickes customer service the chance to get me a plan by the end of last week or I would be posting this review. Sadly I’ve heard nothing from them, no plan for resolution, nothing.

For a company that said they will do everything but paint and wallpaper we are 3 months on with a bathroom that’s half complete and falling apart. We are now having to look into legal action.

Such a disappointment made from such a promising start.

Kyle at the Telford was so helpful and is a credit to Wickes. I called to the store on Thursday evening looking for kitchen floor tiles. He gave me so many ideas and clearly had knowledge of the products. I called back to the store Sunday to place an order. He remembered what I needed and arranged the ordered swiftly. I visited Wickes Telford today to exchange an item Josh O helped me with this process, the item I needed was out of stock but Josh spent some time finding an alternative checking for stock and offering opinions on quality. Josh was patient attentive and nothing was too much trouble even though I was probably a little picky Wickes is lucky to have such a great employee

Catherine the lady who was at the customer service desk was very helpful and dealt with my problem very quickly

Meg at the Telford store was absolutely fantastic helping us with our stone order. She made a very difficult bulk purchasing process possible. Credit to Meg for her patience and willingness to place multiple orders for us. Wickes you really do need to sort out your ordering system to make it easier for your customers and colleagues alike. The quality of the bark itself is excellent. No smell to it and no signs of mold which has been my experience from other suppliers in the past. The price was really good, 3 x 100L bags for £30, I bought six. There was a problem when my partner laid the bark, there was some contamination in the bags, which were shredded pieces of coke/pepsi cans, some broken pieces of a blue house brick and a small piece of glass. We bought the bark to create a soft play area for our young grandchildren and we also have pets so this was a major safety concern. I contacted Wickes yesterday and reported this as I was worried that other people may buy it for the same use as us and someone may end up getting hurt. I was messaged this morning and spoke to a guy called Andrew from customer services. I sent him some pictures and he said that they would treat the matter as serious and that they would be taking steps to contact the manufacturer and make them aware. I am impressed by their immediate response to my concerns.

Went into Wickes today with my brother and a lovely lady, Katherine, helped us with our questions. Instead of us wandering around trying to find what we wanted she guided us to the areas that were relevant. Both Katherine and other members of staff were really helpful and knowledgeable - many thanks:)

I made a click and collect for a large number of pine moulding trim. When collecting I noticed that they were not all identical and were mixed sizes/shapes. The storage box in store appeared to have been mixed up. Phil apologised and spent time to find and check the order and locate the correct mouldings. He was thorough, approachable and chatty. A great example of top customer service to correct an error. Thank you Phil 😁

Wickes have been absolutely wonderful. Their community scheme is everything you’d hope it would be, genuine, generous, and rooted in real care for local people. We were blown away by the support they offered our little community garden project. A special thank you to Michelle, the Operations manager, who was an absolute star. She was kind, helpful, and genuinely interested in what we were trying to achieve.Thanks to Wickes and Michelle, we now have the tools and materials we need to keep our shared space thriving. It will make a real difference, and we’re so grateful. Thank you

Your store assistant Marta was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable. With her advice we made a purchase and left your store satisfied.

Phil (Telford store) was very polite and helpful sorting out my issue with pipes that I needed for downpipe on my house. Helped carried ordered items out to the car. Gave detailed explanation how they worked and extra items I needed to assist with said job.

Excellent service from Nicholas at Wickes, probably the best customer service I've had in years at any establishment. Truly excellent.

Super fab Customer Experience today. Didn’t know which stones to buy and Kyle S gave me a full overview of colours and types available. Then … kindly helped me load 5 bags of them onto the trolly! Will be back again soon thanks 😊

At the end of January 2026 we wanted our kitchen replaced. We checked with various suppliers and in early February we visited Wickes in Telford. We had excellent advice from the Design Consultant Nick Butler and he came to our house measured and advised if what we and was possible. Nick was efficient helpful and had a lovely sense of humour (including about our need to store our herb and spices in Marmite jars). Nick was a star! The design he presented us with was exactly what we wanted.
A date was arranged for delivery of the units and on that date we were kept informed of the arrival time. John Jo and Jim who did the delivery were courteous on time and professional. Every item was bar coded off the delivery vehicle and stored where we wanted them placed.
On the 27th April the fitter John Haddon arrived with his assistant Dan and started removing the old and replacing with the new. During the fitting John Haddon noticed two small flaws in the cupboard doors and he Informed me that they would be replaced.
The work was completed on Saturday 2nd May 2026.
I rate Wickes and the work done by them in the following way:-
