Wickes - Weston Super Mare Reviews 

Wickes WSM recently donated some tools to our charity for our volunteers to use, which have been essential to help us look after Goblin Combe Lodge site and woodland. Thank you so much!

Thanks to the donations from Wickes, our children at Locking Primary School can now explore and create in the mud kitchen. We will be building a water play area using the guttering which was donated through the community project. We are very thankful to Ella, for her support.

From design to fitting the experience of our new Wicks kitchen has been amazing

Friendly staff who are kind and helpful. The store layout is good and i can find what i need but if i require assistance, one of the staff are on hand and always happy to help, Mike has helped me on several occasions

I'm a bathroom and kitchen installer and used this store for over 20 years for all my supplies. Really helpful staff and good quality products and a good location.

It is a great idea for Wickes to be promoting this idea. Too many stolen power and hand tools are turning up at car boot sales and online . The Guy and girl who greeted me at the Weston Super Nare store were very helpful and explained al I needed to know.

I’ve shopped in wickes (WSM) on a couple of occasions and on each time I have left the store highly satisfied. The store is so clean and tidy and everything is easy to find, such a great layout! The staff there are very pleasant and friendly too. There seems to be a great sense of teamwork. Holly was fantastic and ensured I was able to leave with exactly what I went in for. Such a great store 👍

Really great service at Wickes in Weston. Holly and Mike were especially helpful when I needed to carry some cement. They went out of their way to help and were friendly, professional, and genuinely appreciated. Excellent customer service — thank you both!

Very clean for a DIY store and the staff were very helpful. I had an issue with a delivery that was being delivered by a third party however the staff in the Weston super mare store fixed it immediately with no hesitation

Visited Wickes in Weston Super Mare yesterday and i must say the young lady who did our transaction went over and above to help us. ELLA is a credit to that store very helpful with our trade card as we usually have so many issues with it. Ella was very calm in sorting our issues out, Its a shame more of the staff in this store are not as accommodating. Put her in charge of staff training . Lovely young lady hope we get her next time we visit.

Don't use them - They Don't Care

We have just had the main bathroom and downstairs cloakroom completed and the service from Wickes from start to finish has been very poor. Where the works have been completed correctly the quality is good, but the fitter kept referencing how little of what the Wickes charges he gets and needed to be finished on a certain day or he is loosing money and worked with a constant pressure to finish on time. I feel this led to cut corners in some places of the works, but the biggest complaint is the lack of Wickes support and care from start to finish during the works.

1, They gave us the delivery date for the bathroom 3 months after the order was placed and i took a day at home to receive this delivery. What quickly transpires is that Wickes are not collecting your order all together for one delivery but instructing all the different suppliers to send for the delivery date. We had a total of 5 deliveries due of which 4 made it. The installer started 2 days later and after a week and a half of chasing thru Wickes so called customer service (the employee who sold us the bathroom now not interested) we didn't have the shower and taps from the 5th delivery so we had to go out and buy another set so the fitter could complete the works before he left to start another project. Customer services offered no support just saying DPD had tried to deliver twice, and you weren't in. When i requested the GPS co-ordinates and photo of or house as proof they said they don't offer that so it’s their word against ours. hmm Thought it was meant to be customer support.

2, We chose a floating unit for the main bathroom, and the fitter bought the pipes up in front the wall and boxed them in rather than buying in the wall.

3, The floating cabinet has 2 handles on it both of which are not straight.

4, We were sold a bathroom and had both the salesman from Wickes and the fitter come to the property before worked started to carry out a survey and confirm costs for specialist works. They mentioned we may need a pump on the system if the pressure wasn't good enough and were aware of the pump we already had on the ensuite shower. However, we now have no pressure anywhere in the bathroom not the sink, bath or shower and now the fitter has said a pump on the bath would empty the tank before it can refill so shouldn’t be done. Current suggestion is to spend thousands more on a non-vented cylinder. This was not ever mentioned at time of design or order.

5, Following on from the above despite 2 people coming to evaluate the works the fitter then produced an invoice for more than he suggested it would cost for the specialist works. We never made a single change to the deign or requested any extras but seem to have to accept these additional costs? Throughout the works the fitter kept commenting how little Wickes paid him to complete the works in the Wickes labour bill. This figure doesn’t include the so-called specialist works that we have to pay direct to the fitter on top, that went up from the verbal quote he gave us after the visit despite Wickes paperwork confirming we would get a full written broken quote from the fitter before work starts.

6, The green tiles at each end of the bath have not been silicone to the ceiling while the patterned tiles to the side of the bath have been.

7, The downstairs cloakroom has a new towel rail where the old radiator was. The old radiator pipes were not adjusted in the floor to come up straight into the new towel rail so we now have pipes with right angles in above the floor to meet the new towel rail.

8, The towel rail in the downstairs cloakroom has a group of about 10 scratches on the bottom left corner. Its so bad there is no way the fitter never new about it.

9, The downstairs cloakroom has a WC on a panelled bas unit with flush above. These 2 panels don’t line up.

10, Where the WC panel and cupboard finish leaves a gap of about 70mm to the end wall, which should be an infill panel instead of this horrible little gap?

11, And finally to top it off the fitter is supplied with a large yellow grab bag for all the rubbish which has been located on the drive. The works was completed 2 weeks ago today and the bag is still on the drive with Wickes seemingly unable to get removed.

Bags of topsoil ordered online for delivery. Easy site to use though delivery part could do with an area to state where to leave products.

All delivered on time next day and driver left where I asked him to. Driver carried 3 bags whereas I could manage 1 :), so glad of his help.

Knowledgeable and professional service from Mark Tiernan at the Weston-super-Mare branch and excellent communication throughout. We are very pleased with the design of our new Wickes kitchen and the recommended AEG appliances.

This is my second review but now my kitchen is finished I can share the full experience, not just a part of it.
1) the designer didn’t allow enough material to make the boiler cupboard big enough to meet regulations. As she was now on maternity leave, getting the order amended was nearly impossible. The installer insisted in messaging the designer while she was on maternity leave, No one from Wickes customer service was prepared to tell him to get another member of staff to change the order. I had to threaten to cancel the order to get it amended.
2) 4 days before the worktop’s were delivered we were told the material for the upstands and splash backs were out of stock. We had to pick another design pattern , even though we ordered and paid for the kitchen 10 weeks before.
3) 2 days before installation the kitchen was delivered, minus the integrated fridge/freezer . They didn’t have any 70/30 fridge freezers in stock . So we had to buy another one fromAO. IT took over 3 weeks to get a refund off Wickes.
4) The kitchen designer hadn’t ordered any compound for the Minerva travertine haze splash backs, this set the installation back 3 days.
5) the installer hadn’t put on his survey that he needed herringbone loose tongues (splines) for the flooring. So he had to come back and I ended up footing the bill for his mistake for £300 extra.

18 months from start to finish and in the end Wickes had to pay me to get my own installer as theirs made an abortion of my bathroom.

Customer service and customer relations, constantly deflect and almost try to put the blame on me and my family.

They are not interested when things go wrong and looking at all the poor reviews and their own dedicated Facebook page for Wickes poor service they aren't bothered about it either.
There will be the token I have personal messaged you to put things right, but don't fool yourself, the last 4 of these ended in" I'm sorry it's not my department" the worst company I have ever delt with, stay far away and get yourself a proper company who cares about their customers

Great service from the Weston super mare kitchen team a special thank you to Selina for design and back up. 2nd kitchen from wicks well made price matched appliances and delivered on time , fitted ourselves but advise if your not confident / competent do not attempt .The only criticism and it is a small one the labelling of boxes against the itemized list is daunting to sort through when you first start . Can’t fault the CSD. Overall kitchen looks great

Our meeting was good and a great help.
We were a little disappointed not to be able to see a "Physical " example I what we want to purchase but all our questions were answered and we felt confident we had made the right choice.
