What a shame Wyelands has closed - at least its savings business. When it had to close its operations they informed in advance of the need to pay capital and interest several months before maturity with helpful and reassuring messaging all along - as too the same when we spoke to them on the telephone. When there is so much worrying news of scams and innocent folk diddled out of their money, the experience with Wyelands easily bucked the trend. All the very best to all its staff -who we hope will still be in a job.

Have been excellent up until now, but yesterday announced that they would be changing the interest rate in 95 day notice accounts to zero, and then continuing to apply the 95 day notice period! I have given notice.

This was my first experience with Wyelands Bank and also the first time I'd ever opened a Notice Account at any bank. Easy enough to set up and on the two occasions I called Customer Service someone answered the phone straight away to answer my questions. The first withdrawal amount appeared back in my nominated account on the expected day.

No customer loyalty, just a one way relationship. Have held fixed deposits with this bank for many years, but with an upcoming maturity they have no products to offer. They only want customer money when it suits them. That is not relationship banking!

I have found Wyelands Bank to be very helpful with any questions I have had. The staff are polite, professional and personable. They take the time to explain and make sure you understand and don’t make you feel as if you are being rushed.

Wyeland Bank in trouble? We setup a fixed rate account but they limited how much we could save with them. Wonder if it is related to the FT investigations in July relating to links with metals magnate Sanjeev Gupta?

They offered a great fixed savings bond - and when it expired, it was very straightforward to transfer the funds and close the account.
