Called in to get a new lens cap for my Opticron binoculars as I had bought both pairs there and had been happy with the service. I had a cap with me. The lens caps have fallen off of both pairs of my binoculars and this was the only one I had left. I was told this rarely happens and that I would need to bring in the binoculars in as the lens caps are specific to each model. The lens caps regularly fall off our binoculars! I was told in an offhand manner to look in the window to see if I could see my model. It seemed to me that most models had one of 2 sizes of cap. No offer was made to see if my cap was suitable for any of the ones in the window and that model could be ordered. Also I reported that the straps supplied with the binoculars regularly came loose. I was told this couldn’t possibly happen if fitted correctly. I assured the staff member that it could only to be told I obviously knew more than him despite his years of experience. I left the shop at that point as I had the distinct impression that the customer is always wrong! I will have to see if I can get the replacement caps elsewhere!

Having seen the reply, I rest my case! Have ordered them online.

Bought a lens to take out of the UK but they never gave me the VAT form or Details costing me 190 pounds I would never have bought the lens if I knew that I wouldn't be getting the VAT back on it

Very good service - even offered to deliver personally to my home as I am relatively local although In the end I fetched it from the shop. Lens is brilliant although doesn’t have full functionality with my old camera body. I bought from here as they would be good with returns if I had needed to do so.
