Received my Herman B this week. Best chair. Good quality. Great value for money

Just want to thank the sales team with helping me decide on the perfect chair. I received good service from the start and am very impressed by the value for money.I will recommend 2ndhnd to anyone in the market for an office chair.

3rd chair I have ordered this one for one of my elderly clients. Needed something with more support and a higher back. Excellent customer service and delivery was on time. Would definitely be recommending them to other clients as the price is amazing compared to similar chairs on other sites. .

Update: Finally got a replacement chair which is way better constructed than the original one I had. We'll see how this one goes.
Original: Chair delivery was great until I sat in said chair. First off the screws on the arm rest were too long and poking into my elbow. Secondly the seat padding was non-existent. Thirdly, the recline had multiple issues. I had to buy a seat cushion and cut down the screws myself after a few months of discussion where they were agreed to replace the cushioning in the chair, they just cut off all contact.
I've chased them up several times via email and their site but nobody ever comes back. To make matters worse, less than 10 months after having the chair and the plastic housing that manages the recline setup exploded whilst I was sat fully upright and they're still uncontactable after I tried to speak to them several times even though the chair is still under warranty. All round terrible experience. I'm now going to have to buy a new chair.

At this time I'm still waiting for the product, yet my experience so far is 1 star - the worst I've yet had in online purchases, and believe me I have a long history.

I just removed the huge negative review I had placed here due to the after-sales service of 2NDHND.

I had the worst online shopping experience in my life thanks to how DHL managed the import with their abusive fees, inability, and mistakes.

Through all this process, the staff (and I believe even the direction) of 2NDHND got involved with my issue and attempted to handhold me through the issues we were encountering with extreme care and availability.

I can recommend this seller, for the value, responsiveness, and effort they put even after the sale has been closed, which I believe is what determines the difference of quality in nowadays companies - I feel like I can guarantee that any problem you have will be dealt with to their best possibilities.

Amazing company and amazing support.

Can you imagine how hard is for someone to stop their lives to come here to make a sincere compliment?

It is far easier for someone to come here and tell everything that went wrong with a company or service, especially while they feel angry and frustrated. I did this many times.

But here goes my sincere report of my experience so far:

I bought a chair that, Humanscale with 2ndhnd and at their website, it said "new". The chair arrived at home and was strange, didn't feel used, but felt like it suffered a big fall or something.

Its components were a bit locked and others a bit loose, but I was so desperate for a good chair to alleviate my lower back pain that I assumed that this was ok and kept using it.

The chair is really good and did fix my lower back pain, but this isn't a review of the chair.

However, the chair's faulty behaviours only got worse and worse. To a point where I almost fell on top of my 1.5 years old daughter because its arms were unexpectedly unlocking.

That passed and I learned to ignore the chairs problems but eventually, the arms were absolutely broken, completely loose, completely annoying and unreliable.

I thought that my warranty was gone and contacted Humanscale directly and told them the whole situation and asked for help. They said they could help but that I should first try to contact 2ndhnd.com that were good and capable of fixing it inside the warranty.

I did my homework and found that indeed my chair was still inside the warranty, so I contacted 2ndhnd.

They were super supportive, understood everything, were very respectful and more importantly arranged the chair collection for repair.

A couple of days later there were here and to my surprise, they took my chair but left a temporary chair.

So they covered all the aspects one would be worried about.

Will they care? yes, they will.
Will I have to send a chair somewhere? No, they will collect at your home address.
Will I have to convince them of my complaints? They are not trying to not fix stuff.
Will I have to buy a new temporary chair? No, they will leave a decent one with you.
Will I have to pay anything? no.
Will I have to collect the repaired chair? No, they bring it to your address and collect the temporary one.

All of this went smooth as butter, no stress over the phone, no stress with the pickup or delivery, everything just right. They surpassed the expectations with the temporary chair, to be honest.

Now I have my original chair and so far has been working fine, which boosts my productivity and makes me have free time to write this review.

Special shout to the carriage driver. He could be the guy that picks things up and delivers things without caring, but even him asked for explanations, told me they would fix, gave me a reasonable timeline of when the fix would be done and delivered. At the delivery he remembered me and asked me if the temporary chair was good enough, was very kind and really showed CARE.

Chair is of excellent quality and at a very competitive rate. I also purchased some other items for the office including a pedestal and cabinet. Both are great items.

The confirmation of purchase arrived instantly and delivery the same week. Would recommend and use again.

I am enjoying my first HM Aeron bought from 2ndhnd. It was worth the 1 month wait as they waited for new parts to fit to the chair before delivery. I made a mistake with my second order. 2ndhnd refunded me the full amount immediately at my request. I have since bought several more Aerons from 2ndhnd. Excellent company and product! I must admit, I was a little skeptical of what I would be getting here, but it seemed worth having a punt. I ordered a Steelcase Please V2 (in beige leather) and am delighted with the chair. The quality of the leather is fantastic (after purchasing, I suddenly wondered if the leather would be horrible PU “leather”). I did contact 2ndhand for confirmation and they stated that it had been refurbished with Italian leather. All I can say is that is feels like really good quality (they do seem to be missing a trick here, not stating this clearly on the website!).

All in all, I am very happy with the purchase and the service. One minor point is that while the chairs are stated as being “in stock”, they are actually refurbished to order. It was delivered within the stipulated 10 working days, so not a problem – but it might be helpful to state this somewhere on the website (along with the genuine Italian leather 😊 ).

For anyone contemplating buying a Steelcase Please V2 : I appreciate chairs are very subjective things, but I after coming from an Aeron – I much prefer the support of the Please (I’m 6’3” and ~16st) – it’s a great chair, with really good adjustability.

On this basis of this purchase, I would certainly recommend 2ndhnd.com.

Really pleased with my chair. A very good price for such a high quality office chair, better than you'd think for second hand. I spend long hours working from home, and it makes a big difference to have a comfortable chair rather than a dining chair!

The experience is so surreal that I will just write the dated facts:
17.11.2020 - I ordered a chair.
24.11.2020 - I received an email that the chair has left the main warehouse and I would receive another email when it was delivered to the courier for the final shipping.
11.12.2020 - I sent an email asking about the status of the order.
15.12.2020 - I received an email stating that the chair would be sent that week.
13.01.2021 - Since nothing happened I sent another email. There was no response so I resent the email on 19.01.
20.01.2021 - I received an answer that they would check the status and get back to me the next day.
03.02.2021 - Since I received no answer I sent another email. A few emails were exchanged between 2ndhnd personnel and they have located my chair. Unfortunately it had a rip in the mesh, so I said I would like an undamaged chair.
04.02.2021 - 2ndhnd found another chair and promised they would send it in the next few days.
04.03.2021 - Since again nothing happened I requested a refund and it was issued the same day.

Had a chair and desk delivered from them for working from home. Very efficient and great service. Would use again and would highly recommend

The customer service team was extremely helpful with all the questions I had about making a purchase from Spain. I bought the Herman Miller Aeron and it arrived in perfect condition! Very happy with my purchase!

Excellent service, purchased 2 Steelcase Please V2 chairs which have transformed our working from home setup and we are very pleased with. Had a small issue with one, contacted 2ndhnd for advice and they quickly resolved the problem. Would recommend and use again.

We bought 2 chairs one was replaced 9 months after purchasing it, now six months later it’s broken again, but now I have no Warrenty

Nearly £600 for 2 chairs that’s lasted less than 18 months, both of our chairs are broken now. We emailed and ask for help but they won’t help as out of warranty.

Don’t buy second hand chairs as they won’t last you, spend it on a new chair. The 12 month warranty isn’t worth the risk for £300 chairs.

My husband and I share our home office part time each but with me at 5' and him at 6' we have struggled to find any chair that would be adjustable enough to suit us both. I contact 2ndhnd before ordering and they offered great advise on which chair would suit us both.
Once ordered the chair arrived within a week and was well packaged. You can tell the chair has been spruced up with new fabric so the chair looks as good as new but without the new price tag.
The chair is really comfortable with all the adjusting features in perfect order so we are really pleased.
I have recommended to friends and family who also need office chairs for working at home.

After a few months of working from home at the kitchen table, I was getting back pain and realised I needed a better chair to work in. I was really surprised at how expensive decent office chairs are, eye-watering! So I looked into second hand options. I expected a second hand chair to maybe feel like an old model, tired, not great condition, but better than the kitchen chair. I was wrong! My second hand chair arrived and looks good as new bar a few very minor scratches on the legs, its so comfortable, fully functional, modern, it's just great. Great option for anyone working from home.

I ordered a Herman Miller Aeron chair on the 31st of January and received it on the 22nd of February (EU country).

While the shipping was slower than I’d like to, it was well worth the wait. Chair arrived in a good condition, works as expected and it is indeed very comfortable.

I did have to pay import taxes, which in my country came to about 150 euros, so the total cost ended up being around 700 euros, so make sure to account this when buying (thanks Brexit).

It was still cheaper than any local used ones and half the price of a new one, so I’m still pleased with my purchase.
