The initial application form on their website was really easy to fill in, though I would stress in hindsight that you do fill in as much detail as possible; more than you think you would need. I had... Toon meer

What is the Access Card? The physical card acts as a photo ID that can be used to easily communicate your access requirements to events and venues, so that the venues can provide accessibility to the needs of their visitors. It also works online with other platforms like ticketing systems, to unlock the access facilities you need. The card shows a photo ID and translates a persons disability or impairment into symbols, effectively highlighting the barriers they face and the reasonable adjustments they might need. The Access Card app provides you with a personalised directory of venues, with first-class accessibility information to help you plan your trips.

So helpfull
Not fit for purpose
Not fit for purpose, it only accounts for PIP which basis your award on a very low quality of life and what you can manage around the home, specifically telling you to book wheelchair access for events etc. This card is a barrier to events and venues that previously allowed you to book what you actually needed as a disabled person to attend and enjoy events. I now find there is very little I can book and attend and it is yet another barrier, not to mention yet another card to pay for instead of just being able to book what you need.
Not aware of disabilities
I had my application denied because my diagnosis is more than two years old. When you have autism, it doesn’t just go away or get better. Access card doesn’t understand this and offer no help or support. Very dismissive and rude. Wait to see the reply they give to this.
access card application
Extremely helpful staff and so quick at processing my DAP cannot thank them enough .
Great idea but not seen any value of companies that accept it yet!
The actual application and idea behind it is brilliant.
However some of the facilities I have encountered since acquiring the card do not seem very receptive of it.
More inclined for profit than catering for needs.
Benefits are hard to see
The application process appears intrusive given that detailed personal information that must be supplied.
My wife is a Blue Badge holder given her mobility issues. She cannot walk or stand unassisted. Although she has passed the criteria for the Blue Badge by the local authority, this is clearly not enough for the Nimbus Card. We can’t provide PIP information as my wife doesn’t claim any. That alone doesn’t make her any more or less mobile.
All return email correspondence is anonymous and somewhat vague at best. By their own admission, nobody employed in the company is clinically qualified to assess any of the medical information they ask for. To quote their reply “ Our training is not medically oriented as we do not subscribe to the medical model of disability.” Ironic that they ask for evidence of medical conditions.
It is clear to see from other reviews that we are not alone in the issues experienced. Given the upset this has already beset us I cannot see the benefit.
Very easy and fast process
Very easy and fast process. Friendly correspondence from staff. Thank you :)
Excellent fast service
Hopefully works for me
I have given 5⭐️ overall, however there are some niggles that I feel for existing or new customers need to be aware of.
I went to Lincoln Castle in the summer and struggled with my disabilities, I had no idea of the Nimbus or Access card.
I read an awful lot of information just to see if it was for me. I applied, read the guidelines what would happen, and what evidence was required.
Now I am under the impression that the Access card is run more so by disabled people. I understand the need to show evidence like PIP, blue badge etc. I filled mine in one Saturday and an email came back to say needed my pip evidence again as they couldn’t find it. Then wanted evidence I couldn’t walk far. I sent them a lot of information from my surgeon, X-rays of my spine, hips, and proved every ailment I have, which I might add, the Doctor said was extensive. I was a bit surprised I had to send in so much personal stuff.
However I know these things do have to be checked, otherwise anyone could get them.. I guess it’s not meant to be easy, to prevent fraud.
I paid the extra £5 to have the access card delivered between 1-3 days. Thing is RM delivery around our way is horrendous, so decided to pay the extra. Glad I did as it was delivered quickly. The company has responded to emails super quick, kept me in the loop. Any concerns were addressed. If you want peace of mind, I would pay the extra, I have read a lot have gone astray, and some waiting months.
Once received the card I have the key symbols marked as requested. I have the standing and queuing, level access, distance, WC +1 and miscellaneous. So I am pleased I gave all the evidence required.
When the access card came,I then sent off for the lanyard, quite attractive in green. I didn’t pay any extra postage on that, but came within 5 days.
Everyone via email responded in a timely manner, and the access card was very easy to understand.
Thank you for everything.
Outstanding
Applied Saturday afternoon. Got a response by Sunday morning. Completed the final form then the approval came through on Monday morning before 10am. Easy process. Quick responses. Awaiting card to come in post.
Nimbus access card
Applied for nimbus access card got plus 1 queing and tiolet needs . The card was only 15 pounds for 3 years. Bought theatre ticket got a reduced priced ticket and a free companion ticket. One visit to the theatre saved more than the price of the card.

Very helpful team with queries , and the service was very personal.
Thank you
unresponsive to emails or phone calls , want refund being ignored
I applied for a card a few months ago. they wanted more information from me. I had already provided a copy of my blue badge and medical record showing mobility issues. still trying to get a refund back from them. I consider their actions close to a scam
What a lovely helpful bunch of people
What a lovely helpful bunch of people. I probably complicated everything. Can't recommend them enough.
Extremely poor
Extremely poor and complete lack of understanding.
I write this review from most parents point of view I feel.
It is hard enough having a child with any disability. But then having to deal with Access Card is one stress I can't take.
After filling the online form and submitting with payment along with multiple hospital, doctors and other medical forms to be given a flat 'No'.
Your application cannot be processed due the 'decision maker' saying you do not have enough evidence to support your case.
Communication is extremely slow, condescending
and rude.
For what should be a simple and painless process has so far become a 2 month long process 4 plus hospital documents, requests for bank statements and government documents.
This is a complete con to protect large businesses and simply to discriminate anyone with a disability

Antwoord van Access Card
Great idea
I heard about this card from a friend . It was easy to apply for and will make it stress free to buy tickets .
Thank you very much
This is a disgraceful Con
This is a disgraceful Con. They took my money as soon as I applied, then refused the access I needed. They were very slow to tell me they were refusing my application. They asked for information I didn’t have access to. I managed to speak to someone on the phone after listening to them repeatedly telling me not to ring them. This person appeared to be helpful. She told me what to send them. I sent it. They then took a week to say this was not enough evidence AGAIN. I then contacted the theatre and they had no difficulty giving me the disabled ticket I needed. This has been a very unpleasant experience. I am still waiting for them to refund my money. I think it is a con. Avoid!
Disabled people simply judging disabilities.
Rude, dismissive and judgemental. Despite providing proof my son receives HIGH RATE CARE, I was told he doesn’t need a plus one carer because “parents are always there anyway.”
Yes, parents are present — but when you have other children, you cannot give 1:1 attention at all times. That is the whole point of needing additional support. Their response shows no understanding of the realities of parenting disabled children.
Families like mine aren’t asking for extras — just the fair support our children need to safely access the community. It’s disheartening to see disabled people discriminating against disabled children in this way.
I would not recommend them to any parent of a disabled child.
The application was straightforward
The application was straightforward. I got an automated email straight away. I received an email within a few hours. Very prompt response with their decision.
Extremely helpful and I am grateful…
Extremely helpful and I am grateful that there is something in place to support people who have additional needs- I hope all venues will start to follow suit. Thank you so much for all your support!!
