Complete scam. I didn't sign up for any paid service or subscription and now they are billing me for £100 per year. Sorry I didn't sign any contract, I didn't sign up for a paid service. Time to report you to trading standards.

Following on from this:
I have raised a case with Trading Standards through citizens advice which provide free legal support and I have raised an Action Fraud Complaint. All parties are aware of multiple complaints against Agora Business.co.uk

Exactly the same scam as previously mentioned. Will be reporting to trading standards. Do not fall for their bullshit.

This companny is a scam, we are a Care Provider and did not sign up with them. I got an invoice of £49 and then a debt collection of £62. Please stay away from them. They need to be brought to justice and all funds refunded with compensation. I will be chasing this up.

Another victim of this scam!!
Input my details to download a ‘free resource’ and apparently signed up to a subscription, which I only found out about when they started sending me invoices. When queried with them they forwarded the email they supposedly sent me which I can’t find in my inbox - all very suspicious. Now apparently I owe them £209 even though I actually only received 2 of their HR Adviser Online emails at £79.80 each. Seems like they are balancing on an extremely fine line between legal and illegal!

Another vote for scam. I have no recollection of signing up for a ‘free trial’. Have only ever received one email from them stating I would be sent another email with details how to log on….. this never arrived. Only became aware when an invoice arrived I the post. Then another….They are using a mixture of my private and business email/ address so this is also suspicious.

This company is a scam and is looting money by trapping readers in their subscription. I only filled out the form and invoiced twice. They are committing fraud with what they're doing.

I too have been subjected to a Scam by this company. They claim I signed up for a Free Trial followed by the automatic enrolment to a subscription service offering Health and Safety Advisors online. Their details contain a mix of my work address and my personal home address. I have contacted them but they insist I signed up for this service, which I did not. They are now sending me invoices for £79.80, £83.00 and £99.00 for digital services they claim I have had. I have contacted them and they have agreed to close the account but not clear the outstanding invoices for services I have no recollection or records of asking for, I did not want and do not want. I have today reported it to Trading Standards through the Citizens Advice Website.

This is clearly a scam where they have obtained my work and personal details. DO NOT ENGAGE WITH THIS COMPANY.

Hi this is just a responce to other people slagging the company off , I like many took advantage of the free offer and within the trial period unsubscribed . However I mispelt the email addrress and started getting invoices which was correct in the eyes of the law , I was away for a while and returned to several more invoices so gave them a Call a lovely mad called Neil asked me to send a copy of the undelivered email which I did and hey presto the account was scrapped no more invoices and no more stress .
Check you have not mispelt the email address as its not advisor its adviser.....

We recieved a telephone call from this company and they sent free copies then we recieved a bill.
We have not signed anything or agreed to anything.

recieved a £79.80 bill & have never heard of the company!!! Same as everybody else!!

I accidentally clicked on a "Free Resources" link and received an invoice for four copies of a health and safety newsletter. Nothing has ever been downloaded by me, and the free resource that was meant to be emailed to me had nothing to do with my search.
A fraudulent business that needs to be looked into!

I accidentally clicked onto this website looking for resource.
Straight away i received an invoice.
I gave this company lots of opportunity to sell me the product and they still failed to provide me with what the company offered and what my subscription was for before completing this review.
I was just sent a link to the site....
I recently got threatened with debt recovery letters, so i had no choice other than pat the invoice. Very poor company, nothing relevant and complete SCAM and reported trading standards.

The HR information that was downloaded as part of the free trial was wrong, among others it included information regarding flexible working that wasn't reflective of the current legislation. I highlighted concerns, got no response. I advised I would not be paying for the service as it the information provided was inaccurate. They ignored again then sent debt collection letters. Absolutely avoid HR support as if you have no experience in the sector you could easily provide misleading information or take incorrect action based on the information this company is sharing

Just received an invoice out of the blue for £79.80, for 4 months of:
* Latest digital publications
* Ask the experts email helpdesk
* Online resource centre

No one at our business had never heard of 'Agora Business Publications - Health and Safety Adviser Online' before we received the invoice. No-one has signed-up or agreed to anything with this company. No services have been received and no evidence of any agreements or services have been provided.

We have never signed up to their services and the member of staff they tried to invoice doesn't deal with anything on the business side of things either.

These people or the people they have trying to sell their products sign people up without their consent or in our case without even speaking to anyone with the authority to do so.

On 5th November 2024, I received a reply on Trust pilot from Agora Business publications and they claimed that I placed an order from them and honoured in good faith on the terms that I agreed to when placing the order.
I deny your false assertion that and I quote from your trust pilot reply " The order you placed with us was honoured in good faith on the terms that you agreed to when placing the order.
When I started to receive emails from your company I saw them as usual emails scam therefore I did not reply until your company started asking me for payment.
If you are a legitimate company then you need to have a hard look at you trust pilot reviews and change the ways you use to get customers. Because you need contracts with customers before an order is placed. Example what I know is that when I placed an order with any service company, they always ask for bank details to make it a legal binding contract.

I encountered "Care Quality Matters Online" while searching for CQC guidelines, only to realize later that this was not an official CQC resource but a third-party company with misleading branding. I never intended to subscribe to any paid service, but the company claims I agreed to a trial that supposedly turned into a subscription without clear notice.

I never received a trial confirmation or any resources, just an unexpected invoice demanding payment. After researching, I found numerous similar complaints from people feeling scammed by this company’s practices. Nearly 63% of reviews on Trustpilot rate them at 1 star, and many describe being charged without full understanding of the terms.

If you’re considering this service, be very cautious. In my experience, this feels like a trap that plays on confusing consumers into thinking they’re accessing CQC resources when they’re not. I’m sharing my experience to warn others and hopefully encourage this company to adopt more transparent and ethical practices.

Shame on you if you work for Agora Business Publications. They cold call you, offer a free *ahem* "trial" of a magazine about health & safety then you start receiving invoices. I asked them to not call the business I work for again, and yet they would still call again - this exact story has occurred in TWO different businesses that I've managed operations for.

Really genuinely bad business practice. I don't believe they think of themselves as scammers, or as semi-fraudulent. And maybe the £55 magazine even has some useful stuff in there.

But this cold call free trial practice is just foul. And they're completely aware how unpopular it is, and how bad it is at creating any kind of goodwill amongst the public. So that does make me rethink whether they're aware that they're engaged in scammy practices.

There are few businesses I'd rate as 1 star - this one is definitely a winner of this award.

100% a scam, I received a letter to my mums house (which has no connection to any business I own).

Never heard of them before this “invoice” in the post. They didn’t even get a correct company name on the “invoice”, they’ve also invoice for “posting” dates in the future.

Think they are chancers but scary how much information they can find out about you.
