Really appreciate the speed and professional way my problem was dealt with. Cannot fault them.

AR came out promptly to deal with a drainage overflow issues. The competently jet-washed the drains under the house and put down a camera – finally finding the fault (basically, very old clay drains). They left, saying the office would be in touch with a quote and timetable for an excavation in order to examine the drains and take remedial action. (£300 for two hours on site.) Given the urgency of the issue I expected a quotation almost immediately: I had a serious issue of overflows during a recent period of persistent rainfall, presenting a problem of basement flooding). It took AR two weeks to respond with a quote (no timetable). In the meantime I had to get some other people to investigate: they excavated and we found a mess. But they had to give up (beyond their competence). Finally, AP made their quote. I explained that, by now, the excavation had been completed and the problem exposed, could they please take this into account and alter their quotation (and provide a timetable). No response. I then called another firm: Your Local Drainage. That was late on a Friday. At 8am on the following Sunday, YLD were on site, fixing the drains, back-filling a large hole and screeding it over in less than 3 hours. AlphaRod were competent when on site, but that's as far as it goes. In contrast, YLD were considerate from the start and put themselves out in order to attend to an urgent issue. On site, their workman was super-fast and efficient. By then, it had stopped raining!

I had Alpha Rod out to replace a manhole cover on my driveway that was old and unsafe to drive over.

They completed the work quickly and efficiently and left the site tidy. I now have peace of mind that the cover is safe when I drive over it. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Alpha Rod in the future.

Great service from start to finish. We were let down last minute on a friday afternoon by a national company, I called Alpharod and spoke to really helpful member of staff who booked us in for the same afternoon. We were kept updated of the engineers journey so we knew when he was going to arrive. Gordy was super helpful when he arrived a cleared the blockage really quickly which was really appreciated especially on a friday afternoon! Highly recommend this company and I would use them again if we needed to, very much worth using a local company.

I was very impressed with Alpha Rod’s service when I had a blocked drain. They were punctual, friendly, professional and found the source of problem, before submitting a reasonable quote to deal with the “root” of the problem.

Oustanding service! I had a build up of scale causing a complete blockage in the mains waste pipe and I used a what I thought was a local company to clear it, they were not sucessful and it built up again in no time. I thought I would used Alpha Rod this time and they are second to none. I was greated by Gordy and Bradley Bear and they were fantiastic, lovely friendly people and they knew exactly what they were doing. The cleared it COMPLETELY in record time. Alpharod came on time and cleared my outside drain coming out from the kitchen by poking it with a drain rod. They charged £180 spent 10 minutes clearing outside drain and used cameras to check water cleared . But common sense says check kitchen water too to ensure no blockage. They did not do this, instead they tried to get more work from me. The kitchen was flooded as the water that's being running from the kitchen backed up. Called AlphaRod!

Alpharod wanted to charge another £150. Did not complete the job but still wanted to charge another visit. If I let them I'm sure I would have paid in excess of £500!

I called my plumber and he cleared the drain for £100 Inc parts using a few bottles of Dam Buster.

All clear now thanks to my trusted plumber.

UPDATE:
After my review, AlphaRod contacted me immediately and said the problem should not have occurred from their end and accepted accountability. They now refunded me the plumber fees. Thank you.

Called Alpha Rod in the morning for a blocked external shared gully drain and arranged attendance at the house for the same afternoon. Wayne and Mike arrived and jetted it through. They were both polite, courteous and knowledgeable. Very good professional service.

Turned up at short notice, cleared the blockage quickly and efficiently.

I had been worried about my drain blocking and how access to my property was not easy. I called Alpha Rod and the lady in the office was very knowledgeable with upfront prices which I was very happy with. The Technician came, unblocked my drain very quickly and took time to listen to my concerns and gave me all the information I needed. When he left I had complete peace of mind. Thank you.

The company arrived quickly, the engineer was very pleasant and quickly cleared the blockage. He carried out a CCTV inspection and discussed potential problems and possible solutions. I was very pleased with the service provided

I had a sewage drain blockage and, after a bit of research, phoned Alpha Rod for help. The call was handled in a professional way and pricing was clear and transparent. Their engineer (Alan?) attended same day and I was impressed by the level of equipment he had and his very helpful and knowledgeable approach. I was able to watch the output from the camera and he was very informative about what we were seeing, as well as the causes and consequences. I didn't realise how far the camera could travel into the system which was helpful in identifying the issues.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

I had a significant problem with water and flooding to the undercroft on my property. Alpha Rod visited and diagnosed the problem as the soak away on my patio and and the drains on my decking. They seemed really caring so I engaged them to undertake the work, despite the fact that it cost in excess of £2,225 and took all my savings. As a pensioner this was a major decision but they assured me the problem would be fixed.

We had a very dry summer so I had no way of knowing if it was properly fixed although I had concerns about water not draining away from the patio despite the hot dry weather. I called them back a couple of times to check but they said it was nothing to do with them. I also had rats under the decking at one point and the guy from the council said it was no coincidence that this work had been undertaken and then the rats appeared.

Fast forward to now, as the weather has changed to very wet it has become clear that not only have Alpha Rod not resolved the problem but they have actually made it worse. Following the rain yesterday I was actually wading through half an inch of water on my patio where the soak away is as the water is now not soaking away!
They also removed the large pebbles I had around the decking so now I have gaps where the decking finishes. I would not have been too worried about this had Alpha Rod done the job properly.

The main issue once again is significant flooding in the undercroft area which is starting up again as we get the wet weather.

So, in essence I paid all my savings to Alpha Rod to resolve a big problem, they haven’t done so. Even worse is the fact that they have made the problem worse than it was before. So Alpha Rod have left me with a major problem and I am back to square one, even worse.
I’m sure they are probably good for minor issues but for heavens sake be careful if you use them for anything more complicated as if they don’t cure the problem you will be abandoned and left with a major headache which will be nothing to do with them. Sorry Alpha Rod, I wanted to be able to leave you a brilliant review but you’ve really let me down.

Is it just me or is what Alpha Rod did by diverting the rain water pipe to the foul system to bypass the
soak away, frowned upon by the industry?
