Everything from the start of my journey…

Everything from the start of my journey until now has been Amazing, I cannot fault the care I received one little bit , rhe process of chatting to a co ordinator and then starting my journey to instanbul was so stress free I would recommend 100%, the care from the nurses and consultant and their teams was amazing, I was treated with total respect throughout, the hospital is absolutely beautiful with everything you need for your stay , the option to take a companion is qn essential one to me which was another plus for choosing Apera , on the hole I would recommend this service 100% and my surgery has changed my life for the better ❤️

I had gastric sleeve surgery in March…

I had gastric sleeve surgery in March and can honestly say Apera were amazing I couldn’t have been more looked after ! Sonia was my first contact and she was amazing throughout !!!!!!! I am very happy and feel amazing ! Would definitely use them again !!! Thanks Apera ! 😃👍

Experienta cu Apera a fost foarte buna.
Incep cu respect, apreciere si multumiri calde la adresa intregului personal medical si in mod special domnului doctor Cengiz Ertan 🙏❤️.
Totul este gandit cu minutiozitate si foarte bine organizat, fiecare amanunt conteaza si vine in sprijinul pacientului.
De cand ajungi in aeroportul din Istanbul si pana la plecare, te urmareste sentimentul ca cineva s-a gandit la tine.
Multumiri si “echipei” de traducatori, soferilor, receptionerilor, oameni minunati, calzi, amabili🙏❤️.
Foarte important, am plecat de acolo cu informatii pretioase de nutritie si nu numai.
Mult succes in continuare Apera!

I was recommended Apera by a friend

I was recommended Apera by a friend. However was still careful to research.
I cannot find fault with any part of the service I received, it was exemplary. From VIP pick up from the hotel in leather recliner seats and a mini fridge stacked with water, to the at hand translator, the hotel suite, not room! The 3,3 course meals my chaperone had brought to her daily. They do extensive health checks before surgery.
Xrays, heart ultra sound, bloods, ECG plus all the usual blood pressure etc… The after care was amazing. After surgery you are checked on almost too often! In your own private hotel like room with sofa bed for your chaperone.
The day you return to your hotel, the clinic took us to boat trip solely for us and other patient's. Which was bliss. I even saw dolphins. Felt like a holiday.
If I was forced to add a negative… the tv had no wifi so couldn't stream netflix . The package they give you with the advise from a session with their nutritional has everything you need when you get home. They give you an insurance package for anything you might need when you return home. My only regret is not doing it sooner.

I had an amazing experience with Apera Health Group!As we arrived at the hospital ,Tatiana explained us everything and took us to our room for medical investigations before surgery.All the team together with the doctor were amazing.I felf safe with the doctor as he has an experience for over 25 years.I would definitely recommend Apera Health Group as I was happy and pleased with my experience.

The service from my first contact with…

The service from my first contact with the co-ordination to my discharge from hospital was so easy and smooth. Apera has thought of every single little thing so you dint have to, which is awesome as that's the last thing you need to be us stressed before an operation, I wouldn't say it's a 5 star I would definitely rate it a 10 star. The Apera staff, hospital staff are second to none they care amazing, they have everything organised, and when they say something is going to happen at a certain time it does. I took a companion and they even look after her supplying breakfast, dinner and tea at no cost, if you are thinking of using Apera I would definitely not hesitate, and U would definitely recommend them

From pick up I felt welcomed , treated with such kindness and care !
They really go the extra mile to make you comfortable after surgery !

My journey with Apera

My journey with Apera! Wow is all I can say! From my coordinator, dietician, nurses, translator's, surgeon team, Doctors, hotel staff and the lovely porter. I am amazed this was like 7 star place! The hospital is out of this world, rooms beautiful then our hotel was amazing rooms were beautiful.

The way you are treated is outstanding, I can't fault anything so far in my journey and so glad I chose Apera for my surgery. The care you are giving from this amazing team is incredible.

They are so on top of everything, very thorough with all pre op tests, asking any questions is never any hassle. I would highly recommend using apera and to leave it here!

DR Cengiz you are amazing!!! Thanks from the bottom of my heart! Leaving a clue as to which patient this review is from!

Samantha was my first contact with…

Samantha was my first contact with Apera. She guided me all the way and solved all my questions, even out of hours.
The coordinators at hospital are always there for you too.
As a nurse I can say the nurses were great.
Very grateful to had such an amazing people around.

An honest opinion - it seems more negative than it is, I was overall happy but just had some issues

I have taken my time to write this as I hate reviewing experiences straight away, especially when reviews play such a large part in people’s decisions. I am 4 weeks post op.

Organising the surgery was easy enough, if not too easy. I was assigned yelena as my contact, I wasn’t given any information about my surgeon, just the price and information of what was included. As I had a friend who used them I went ahead regardless.

The vip transfer from the airport was gorgeous, it was very comfortable, air con, and definitely VIP although we were left waiting nearly 3 hours for 2 other people who were coming with us which after a long flight and long day of travel was quite frustrating

The Kailyn hotel is lovely, the rooms are nice but it the air con wasn’t working well so we were boiling. Be wary of the room service prices, they are incredibly over priced - €40 for steak?! - whereas you can go to a local restaurant and spend much less in lira, my partner went round the corner to a restaurant and spent £15 on 3 courses. The beds are comfy and the suites are pretty although we weren’t there long enough to appreciate them well. You get told your time for pick up late in the evening so it’s hard to know what time to go to bed. Luckily we were due to be collected at 10:15

The transfer was late to colllect us, we ended up not leaving till gone 11:30 which was frustrating as we could have slept in a bit more. The drive to the clinic is around 45 minutes.

The clinic was pretty, but they do bombard you with paperwork and information about the risks which was good and informative. The staff barely interact with you. The only thing I wasn’t happy with was that the paperwork you sign says you agree to social media posting of you, there’s no opt out portion to this. I crossed it out and wrote no photos or videos as I didn’t want to be plastered over their instagram until I knew what my experience was like. We had the “discount tree” which I guess was alright but was a bit disappointing when half of us got 2% off but others had 10%. Would have rathered a set amount off.

Onto the hospital, the hospital was clean, the front looks like a boujee shopping centre almost. It was very pretty. Unfortunately the rooms didn’t look anything like the advertised rooms, it seems they advertise floor 7 which is much more modern and fresh. Despite this, the rooms are spacious, clean and had storage for bags etc. there was a TV but unfortunately couldn’t use it as no access to English subtitles.

The nurses were incredibly heavy handed and really have given me ptsd from their blood taking activity. I was in agony.

The surgeon was very kind although quite nosey, he was very kind in explaining what he was going to do and how I was safe etc, he explained my results to me. How I would be safe and healthy and how I would be given a relaxer to help me calm down before the surgery as I was very scared. I was first to go down which did help.

Coming round from surgery, I woke up in recovery and was struggling to breathe due to my asthma, I was begging them to take me back to my room for my inhaler but I was laughed at before they took me back.

Pre warning, they take you back to the room with your stomach in a bag at the end of the bed regardless of whether you ask them not to.

The day after operation is thexworst, the gas pains and fatigue really do make you feel like you have been hit by a bus.

The translator is hardly around, and only available for a few hours per day.

Overall the surgical experience was ok, but I did struggle with how heavy handed the nurses are, they can’t speak any English so at night it is hard to communicate with them. WiFi is bad so google translate was temperamental. I am happy I had the surgery done, the hospital was nice but I don’t rate the aftercare.

The nutritionist is very pushy, she will try sell you extra products which are “important” but if they were that important they would be included in the bag of items they send you home with. She’s very pushy and tries to make you feel bad if you don’t buy things. I told her I had no money left because £45 for some collagen is extortionate.

I haven’t heard from anyone since coming home so have been doing it on my own. As I say, the surgery went amazingly well, my incisions are neat and tidy and I am glad I got it done. 4 weeks post op and I am 28lbs down. I just think the care from the nurses and aftercare need improvement.
