The Patient Experience Dept
The Patient Experience Dept. is a hoax. The person in charge, Madeline Roman does not return phone calls or replies to emails. The "advocate" Alex Rodriguez is rude, unintelligent and condescending. Don't waste your time because the patient is never right. Only the hospital is right.
After all the mistakes their Drs make they cover them up.

I was told by friends not to apply there for employment. Oh boy they are right!. Nurses walked out recently, hiring now with 25,000 signon bonus. Well it is not worth it. They can keep their signon bonus. What you get is aggravation, disorganized, rude staff, too commercialized and too much politics going on. I resigned. Won't apply again.
Buen trato en el hospital
If you had a minus 2 star rating, I would use it
I decided to write this review to warn others and express my deep concern and frustration regarding an obscure overcharging incident in connection to an urgent care visit that took place nearly two years ago.
At the time of service, all deductibles and copayments were duly settled, and we were assured that all charges had been satisfactorily addressed.
However, to our utter surprise, we recently received an unexpected bill from Baptist, which we cannot comprehend. We have made multiple attempts to resolve this matter by reaching out to various departments, including customer service, billing, admissions, and even the so-called "Patient Experience" department. Regrettably, our efforts have been met with silence and a lack of transparency.
The existence of a "Patient Experience" department should ideally reflect a commitment to quality care and customer satisfaction. However, our experience has led us to believe that it is merely a facade to overcharge and mislead customers. This blatant disregard for the alignment of services with accurate charges raises serious concerns about Baptist's dedication to healthcare quality and patient satisfaction.
What is most distressing is that Baptist has officially closed this case without providing any factual information or evidence to support this overcharge, which raises concerns of double billing. This situation is both frustrating and ludicrous, and it has compelled not only us but also several of our colleagues with similar experiences to reconsider seeking medical care at Baptist in the future.

Baptist Health: Extreme dysfunction and indifference to the consequences of their actions
Baptist Health is an extremely dysfunctional organization. They are grossly understaffed and this has a very negative impact on the patients who seek care at their facilities.
I have been receiving follow up procedures for thyroid cancer, and need to have ultrasound imaging procedures on my neck and throat. I've been trying to schedule an appointment to get an ultrasound test since last June. I was told that only one person is available to view the scan remotely and they couldn't confirm if that person would be available on the day that they scheduled me, because their calendar only tracks that person's appointments for about two weeks, and my appointment was two weeks beyond the calendar. When my appointment drew near, they told me that the person was not available. I was then rescheduled a month later to another facility to get the test done, and when I arrived for the appointment, they told me that my insurance was out of network.
They told me that I was in network at a Baptist hospital, but out of network at a Baptist imaging center. This is no way to run a health care system!!!!!!
Had breast cancer back in 2019
Had breast cancer back in 2019. Wasn't feeling well in 2022, night sweats, horrible fatigue, thrush so I went to see Dr. Cheryl Moss-Mellman, the Director of Clinical Breast Services, at Lynn Women's Center in Boca Raton (A Baptist owned facility). She was rude, condescending and dismissive of my symptons and didn't bother doing blood, mammogram or ultrasound knowing I had previously had breast cancer. She told me to go see a therapist. 6 months later I was diagnosed with INVASIVE breast cancer. This woman has no training in breast cancer, she's merely an internist, but they have her billed as an expert. I complained to Baptist and NOTHING was done. This woman, from my horrific experience, is a danger to all women. She should be removed from her position and should not be trusted with breast cancer care at all.
Literally the worst hospital system I…
Literally the worst hospital system I have dealt with. My father was a doctor so I grew up in the hospital environment and I am also in healthcare. Every negative review you see here is 100% dead on. They ONLY care about the money and not the patients. You are nothing but dollar signs when you walk into their offices. Save yourself a heart attack AFTER the hospital visit when you get your bill. They rack up the charges of which none are explained before hand. The love doing unnecessary tests too. Again just racking up the bill. Billing customer service (if you can call it service) doesn't care either; better pay up or the ship you to the next collection agency. Will not work with you. Literally, go anywhere else but here.

Had an appointment for an MRI at 8750 sw 144 st. Arrived early at 10:50 for my 11.15 appointment. Discovered that we had forgotten the prescription home. Drove back home to get in, arrived back at 11.35, but were told that I could not get back in………Extremely disappointed with the lack of flexibility and lack of customer and patient service….
Billing Issue
Janet Alvarez from the Patient Experience team was amazing. She was super friendly and advocated on my behalf for the unnecessary charge that was incorrectly place on my bill. Thank you for all of your help@
Overcharging and Misleading Patients
We had an infuriating experience at Baptist Health Urgent care in Doral Florida. We were misled on their same day cash payment option. At checkout they did not even have a real person checking us out. Instead we were talking to an iPad and gave our credit card information to pay the same day cash price. We were charged $150 for the visit and then a few weeks later, we received at statement from our insurance company say the visit cost an additional $500. Therefore, they charged us $650 for a 5 minute visit with the doctor to look at our daughter's ear and diagnose her with swimmer's ear.
Do not go to a baptist health urgent care because they will mislead you on payment and then overcharge you and your insurance company.
Staff was pleasant and that’s kind of…
Staff was pleasant and that’s kind of where it ended. Came in with loud popping in my thumb/wrist, swelling and severe pain. Dr Xrayed and said nothing wrong bye. I asked what Dr thought was causing the popping. “Oh I don’t know, could be a tendon. Brace it for awhile’ Nurse pointed to brace I came in with said use that. Explained it didn’t fit correctly, he gave me a generic brace with NO thumb support and again said Bye. Fast fwd - Got into my own Ortho yesterday. I now have on a half cast, more pain than I went in with. Waiting on CT to figure our what really IS WRONG! Thanks for wasting my time Baptist and making my injury worse!
I wasn’t impressed with Dr
I wasn’t impressed with Dr. Dan Homer’s attitude toward his patients. I had to do a simple blood test for a health check-up. When I asked my questions about this procedure, what might affect the results, and what things I should avoid, I got a rude reply.
Hematology at Baptist Hospital Appointment Service
The doctor did a couple of Ultrasounds and Blood Tests on my husband. He referred him to Hematology Department at Baptist Hospital among other referrals. I could not believe I could NOT get an appointment date UNTIL I have the doctor's diagnosis. I don't think the main doctor would refer my husband to the wrong department. Also, a crucial specialty would make you wait for a date until they get the diagnosis.
Dr. Dan Homer
RUDE! that's all I can say about Dan Homer. I was engaged with him on one project and initial it was going good but after some months he started treating us like slaves and wanted everything in Free from us. He never got back to us quickly and after month or so he comes with very Rude email and calls threating us to do his work for Free. He is Fraud and I feel like giving minus rating but I could not go less than 1 star.
Dr Dana Homer is a scam
Dr Dana Homer is a scam. I have been working with Dr Dana Homer for a project and this doctor is a big scammer. He wants to do all development for free without paying any money and threatening me and my team. Don’t trust this Doctor he is a big scam
Waited 1 1/2 hours and Dr. Never showed up
Try to do virtual visit. We have been waiting for one and a half hours no one ever came on. If there's no one available why was the appointment accepted? Terrible service!
DISGUSTING PLACE
DISGUSTING PLACE. I was literally passing out in their office and they all laughed at me. horrible people worse service I can't stress enough that you should never enter this building
Unsolicited personal mail
Keep sending me emails - I’m not the recipient but they keep sending them despite my requests. Some of the information is personal but whoever Matthew D Phipps is, it isn’t me.
Dismissive, careless and abussive practice!
Read this before going, and go for yelp reviews instead of google (bad reviews can be easily deleted by the provider on google). The doctors in the emergency service of this place will charge you for tests without informing or disclosing this to you. Baptist makes you sign an online "consent-to-all" form without giving you the chance to not consent items you do not agree (you can, but you will be send to an email that never gets back to you, then you will no get an appt), the only thing you can skip is students present during you evaluation. I was charged with a unnecessary unjustified test, never informed to me by the emergency doctor, I was charged 94$ out of pocket for this wrongfully ordered test, the rest of the visit was payed by the insurance (almost 900$). Customer service responds almost never, and certainly nobody will get you back to you. The 3 times out of + 50 calls I could reach somebody in 4 months this person of "patient experience services" agreed that the 94$ has been waived because it was an improper test not informed and not needed for the diagnosis. This was a lie and never ever done, 4 months later I got a collector bill for same 94$. Nobody answers the phone, nobody replies the email, I have a case number for dispute that I gave to the collector office, and the collector cannot obtain a reply from this people, want to leave a voicemail? "Sorry, the box is full", you are lucky to leave on?, well nobody will call you back. I lived in 4 other states of the US besides FL, never ever had a problem with health care system, and I am very blessed to have a very good insurance. This is the worst hospital I have ever been in my life, and by far the most dismissive, unreliable and careless customer service I have ever encountered. You may see reviews complaining about wrongful charges in yelp or even in their FB website, BELIEVE THEM. This business takes advantage of how busy people are to spend hours of several days on a phone and just get no other alternative than pay vs lose your time. We need to do more than just posting reviews but to start reporting this abussive and scammy practices to the Health Department.
