Shockingly Poor Service – Flooring Issues Ignored by Barratt London for Over 18 Months
My experience with Barratt London Customer Services has been nothing short of a nightmare. Since August 2022, I have been battling a serious issue with the flooring in my home (Eastman Village) that has been flaking and deteriorating. Despite providing clear evidence, including photos, videos, and extensive correspondence, Barratt London has continuously dismissed the problem as a "maintenance issue" rather than acknowledging it as a possible defect in the materials used.
Over the past 18 months, I have been strung along by various representatives. Numerous appointments for inspections were scheduled and rescheduled, or simply ignored altogether, without any proper investigation into the root cause of the problem. Escalating the matter to higher-ups led to the same empty promises, delays, and lack of accountability.
When a Field Service Manager, finally did visit, his so-called "inspection" was a complete joke. He barely glanced at the flooring and dismissed the issue outright, parroting the same excuse about maintenance, despite the fact that the flaking is occurring even in low-traffic areas. His refusal to engage in a serious discussion about the issue was infuriating.
After nearly a year and a half of relentless follow-ups and escalating the issue to multiple levels within Barratt, they have concluded that the flooring issue is not a defect and have refused to take any further action. This is an appalling way to treat customers, especially after purchasing a home with the expectation of quality and proper support when things go wrong.
I would strongly urge anyone considering a Barratt London home to think twice. Their complete lack of responsibility, unprofessionalism, and disregard for customers' time and concerns is outrageous. This is not just a case of poor service—it's a deliberate refusal to address what is clearly a defective installation/service, leaving homeowners to deal with the consequences on their own. I expected better, and Barratt London has failed on every level.
