Using betterroaming for my daughter’s Apple Watch. She doesn’t have an iPhone so the watch stands alone. Whilst it’s easy to sign up and get working the reception is terrible. We live on the outer suburbs of Melbourne and it will often not have 4G reception - which defeats the purpose of it and hinders our ability to send messages to and from the phone. If you live in a capital city’s inner suburbs you’d probably have no issue but outside that might be best to try another carrier. I believe betterroaming uses Vodafone. Not sure how apple can recommend only this carrier? I notice they bury in their sign up / website that they use the less reliable Vodafone network.

My daughter’s 2023 Watch plan with Truphone has been changed to a plan with this company. I’ve tried to cancel the annual plan before it’s automatically renewed. They’ve supplied a form to do this that doesn’t work, won’t reply to messages and are trying to make exiting an unwanted contract as difficult as possible. This company is not reliable or trustworthy.

Niestety ale, po zakupie już drugiego rocznego abonamentu (esim) do apple watcha dziecka przestały działać rozmowy przychodzące i wychodzące (po 4 miesiącach od odnowienia abonamentu). Support twierdzi że moja lokalizacja nie obsługuje rozmów 3G więc nie będzie rozmów w ogóle. Sugerują używać rozmów po WiFi, które są przecież niezależne od abonamentu. Jest to jawne oszustwo. Prowadzę rozmowę z supportem w sprawie zwrotu za abonament. Niestety osoby odpowiedzialne za support nie ułatwiają tego doświadczenia.
Jeśli nie dostanę zwrotu chociaż połowicznego, sprawa zostanie zgłoszona do UOKIKu i na policję za oszystwo.
Przez poprzedni rok usługa działała super a teraz się całkowicie zepsuła. Szkoda. Nie polecam

Unfortunately, after purchasing a second annual subscription (eSIM) for my child’s Apple Watch, incoming and outgoing calls stopped working (four months after renewing the subscription). Support claims that my location does not support 3G calls, so there will be no calls at all. They suggest using WiFi calls, which are completely independent of the subscription. This is outright fraud.
I am currently in discussions with support regarding a refund for the subscription. Unfortunately, the people responsible for support are making this experience very difficult.
If I don’t receive at least a partial refund, the matter will be reported to the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) and to the police for fraud.
During the previous year, the service worked perfectly, but now it’s completely broken. A shame. I do not recommend it.

These individuals are a scam. I subscribed for one year but never received a connection for calls or texts. Only the 7-day free trial worked. After that, there was zero connection. It was a total waste of time and money. I will be suing this company.
Absolutely disgusting service!!! You’re not a company you thrive of pretending to provide a service that does not work!!! And happily take people money!! Shit show, no contact number to call, never respond to emails.

I bought a data plan from BetterRoaming for my trip to Peru. Everything seemed fine until I got there, the data plan was supposed to activate automatically upon my arrival in Peru. However, once I landed, I received an email from them confirming the activation of this plan but I had no internet! I wrote to them and initially received a reply that I did not have any active data plan for Peru, then I received another email asking me for certain data that I did not have and to do certain settings that were already done anyway. In any case, during the entire period I did not benefit from the internet that I had paid for. I am attaching some of the correspondence with them as proof.
Complete rip off and joke of an company
I've been charged for 2 offshore packages and received no esim, now onto my second day emailing back and forward.

Haben für die Erreichbarkeit unseres Sohnes eine Apple Watch angeschafft und über den Betreiber ein Jahresabo angeschafft. Leider war die Erreichbarkeit unter 10% in der Dauer des Abos, sodass es unzumutbar ist, solch ein Produkt überhaupt noch am Markt anzubieten.
Basically the watch using Betterroaming just wotn take calls more than half the time. Getting customer service is a joke. 2 days in between emails. you get for safety for a child BUT you cant ring them on it even when connected to strong home wifi. Not good enough, but since they have no competitors they don't even need to lift their game
Bought for use in northern India, but unfortunately only had coverage in big cities. A fellow traveller had Saily and had coverage everywhere. Response time customer service good, but the tips didn't help as the problem was lack of signal. They did offer a refund, but that missed the point as esim is something you want to set up before arrival. Have since removed and will try one that has good reviews next time. I got this one via my bank, but have since seen the reviews and certainly wouldn't recommend for India.
Internet not working.
I got 2 GB of traffic to use in Italy but it simply does not work. I checked all my phone setting (Google pixel 8) and there is nothing blocking it. I see the eSIM as perfectly functional, connected to either 4G or 5G but internet doesn't work. Actually for whatever reason I see that a few dozen MB have been used. Waste of money and time. Stay away from this scam. Should be illegal.
Just purchased two better roaming plans for my twins Apple Watches today and so far it's working great! Was able to call and message when out of the house and the quality of the connection was great! Was originally told only Vodafone, O2 and EE provided the e sims which would work with the watches however so glad I found this.....so much cheaper than the others and so far so good......

I bought 2 plans for my daughters Apple Watches SE GPS + Cellular, one watch worked fine, but the other one didn't send SMS. They recommended me to uninstall and reinstall the plan, I did so, and then I couldn't reinstall the plan anymore. I've been sending emails for almost 2 months, and they haven't solved the issue yet. I even contacted Apple which sent me a brand-new replacement watch.
The issue is still unsolved. This has been super frustrating.
It's a shame that BetterRoaming is the only Family Share provider for Australia.
The only solution for kids Apple Watch, but next to no reception in or around school most of the time. Now the eSIM has vanished off the watch, with 8 months remaining on the plan, and it can’t be readded in any way. Have tried transferring it to another device and back but it refuses to go onto any device. I have a support ticket 02418316 but it immediately sent an auto reply that it needs more info or will be closed in 2 days, without stating what info they even need and why what I provided wasn’t enough.
contrate un plan anual el 14 de marzo 2025 para el apple watch de mi hijo y me cobraron los 39 euros correspondiente al plan anual; el dia 21 de marzo ( despues de los 7 dias de prueba gratuitos ) me vuelven a cobrar otros 39 euros en mi tarjeta, ante mi sorpresa... se suponia que el plan anual para españa son 39 euros anuales , no 78 euros... espero que me devuelvan el dinero que se me cobro de mas..
24/03/25 actualizacion!! Despues de mi mensaje a la compañia ellos me han respondido y no me han cobrado los 39€ de mas que me habian cargado en la tarjeta. El servicio sigue yendo bien en el apple watch!!! No tengo ningun problema
Terrible service. Have been waiting almost for a month just to activate the service on my kids watch. Defeats the purpose of buying a watch for kid safety.

The only solution for kids Apple Watch. Works decent for basic comms - if running late or if they want to send us an audio message etc. setup twice successfully now. Second was difficult, but they do answer their support case emails. At first they provide generic answers, but eventually they escalate to a technician of required. Hint for anyone struggling to setup mobile/cellular as the option is greyed out - switch off mobile/cellular on your own phone first.
Terrible customer service. My card expired and my son's Apple Watch was just cut off with no warning - it took ages and a lot of chasing emails to reactivate it.
