Excellent customer service. My lunch box lid kept opening up even with it sealed and the band around it. I emailed B&B and within 24 hours the matter was sorted with a new lid sent out.

Good But Charcoal Wouldn't Fit
Bottle arrived on time and well packaged. I don't think it's a problem but the charcoal was broken in two. What was more annoying was that it wouldn't fit through the neck of the bottle. I had to get a grater to shave one side - a bit of a messy job.
I left the filled bottle for about 12 hours and the water has a neutral taste which is what I'd expect (and hope for). I'll need to experiment a bit more to see if the same results apply to shorter times.
Postscript: Black + Blum kindly sent me another charcoal stick - great customer service!

Hi Robin,
I’m sorry to hear the issue you have had with your charcoal filter.
Due to the fact that the stick is an organic element, it is possible that the charcoal breaks inside the vacuumed pack.
Also, since the charcoal is a natural product, each stick can vary slightly in thickness and length but it shouldn't be an issue to fit it through the neck of the bottle. Therefore we are more than happy to replace your charcoal filter and you should receive it shortly.

Poor customer service- item arrived damaged no response from them yet
I ordered 3 x Charcoal sticks and 2 out of 3 arrived snapped in half. They sent the item in a jiffy bag. I emailed them to ask for a replacement but still haven't had a response. The lady on the phone didn't seem to sure about replacing. Its a shame as I love my water bottle but certainly won't be continuing to buy anything from them again with such poor customer service. Really disappointing.

We are sorry to hear the issue you have had with your charcoal filters.
According to our warranty policy we ask for pictures prior accepting any returns or exchange. Since you have sent a picture showing your issue please note that we are more than happy to replace your charcoal filters.
Due to the fact that the stick is an organic element, it is possible that the charcoal breaks inside the vacuumed pack.
Please note that the broken charcoal will still perform its job perfectly well, and will filter your water the same way the long stick would have done.
Also,you are still able to drink from your bottle if the charcoal has unlocked itself or if that has split into pieces since there is a little curve at the top of the bottle which would help prevent the charcoal from falling out while you are drinking.

Cork and plastic is not going to break in transit. Considering that these bottles are supposed to help reduce waste this amount of useless packaging beggars believe.

Please note that our charcoal filter measure 12 cm and can perform its job perfectly up to 1.1 L of water.
Binchotan active charcoal has been used in Japan as a water purifier since the 17th century. It reduces chlorine, mineralises the water and balances the pH. Our binchotan active charcoal can be used for up to 6 months and amazingly recycles for many different uses after this.
