My family have been with Britline since we moved to France from thr UK in 2019 and we have always been exceptionally happy wth the service. The fees a reasonable and the online and app systems are really easy to use. In particular, our account manager David Metcalffe, who has been our main point of contact since day one, is a very kind, friendly and helpful gentleman, we couldn't do withut him. Being able to converse in English is so vital for us, banking is not an area where we have room for mistranslation.

Rubbish! Transferred a deposit of 250 Euros five years ago. Received all the documentation in French! How does that help me? So, I never logged on. Closing the account now with zero balance as they charged me a yearly inactive fee plus a monthly account fee.
Apparently they sent me reminders about my account online. Tut

We have been customers with CA Britline for over 20 years. During this period they have always been available to assist in any query and have made our life so much easier from organising insurance policies to managing bank accounts for our children. CA Britline is like banking was in the UK 40 years ago when you knew the bank manager and more importantly, they and the bank staff knew you. All the team are polite and helpful. Today Jane brought my attention to a potential problem. Her prompt intervention allowed me to take appropriate action and nuetralise the issue. I cannot imagine any UK High Street Bank being so usefully pro-active. Top marks to Jane and the rest of the Britline team. If you need a bank account in France CA Britline should be your ‘go to’ option. If you already have one, change it to CA Britline. You will not regret it!

Yesterday I spoke to Britline. The lady I spoke couldn't even do basic maths.
I paid in a small English check. After conversion. It was €61.87.
Credit agricole took to charges.
€22.50 + €19. = €41.50.
I ended up with € €20.37. When I pointed out that the bank had more of the check than me. She could not accept this was the case. No matter how many times I pointed this out. This is a bank remember I thought they worked with figures. Time for a change i think after 16 hrs. Totally incompetent!!!!

A very helpful lady called Diane was incredibly patient on a number of occasions trying to sort out problems I had created on my CA app on my phone. With great respect to my slowness, she successfully guided me through the issues. Another lady helped too but I can’t remember her name.
I would highly recommend Britline as a bank for English people having a property in France. A superb service, which means a lot to older people!!

I've banked with Credit Agricole / Britline for nearly 10 years and always found them to be personal, friendly and professional. Every email is answered the same day during business hours, if sent out of hours, the next business day.
We recently had a telephone appointment with Diane Ogilvie to set up a new account product, because our old one was no longer fit for purpose.
Diane contacted us exactly on time and to progress the set up of of the new account, it was necessary to be talked through the procedure on line via the CA website.
Neither I or my wife are particularly confident or knowledgeable in this field and it was reassuring that Diane was so patient with us throughout. I can't thank her enough for her patience and understanding throughout. We managed to achieve what we set out to do and that was only down to Diane's patience and encouragement.
Thank you again Diane for all your help, support and guidance.
Personally, I think British banks can learn a lot from Credit Agricole / Britline when it comes to making a pleasant banking experience, where customers feel valued.

Amazing consistent people centric service! Always friendly always helpful. As a former CEO of 2 UK banks famous for service, (first direct & The Yorkshire Building Society) they are up there in the same excellent level.
From start to finish our experience with Britback/Credit Agricole has been exemplary, the staff courteous and all the transactions in English. We would not hesitate to recomend Britback to any Brits going to live the French dream.
World class staff and service in every regard. All members have displayed exemplary patience, courtesy and product and procedure knowledge.The correct person is always available, and is never in a rush to conclude a matter in hand until the client, myself, feels confident that matters are satisfactorily concluded. We have been with the bank for over 25 years and have found them to be reliable in money transfers, direct debit payments etc. We had our French house insured through them too and they were always helpful when we raised queries on the phone.
We have used Britline for 24 years. We came to live in France in 2016. The bank often went beyond expectations. Recently there have been changes and we now have an account manager, David. I’ve just bought a house in France and, as I work away a lot, I needed to set up a French bank account to allow for direct debits for my household bills.
The account was super easy to set up and I really like the app as well.
I had to have a phone call with an agent in the final stage and I spoke with Maria Celeste.
She was super nice and very helpful, she also gave me lots of helpful advice regarding insurance as well.
So far so good, takes a lot of pressure off those first few weeks when you seem to have a million things to do in a second language! Thanks MC 😊
After a poor experience with Banque Populaire then Barclays France, we banked with Britline (Cr Ag Normandie) for some 12 years while living in dept 47 and then reluctantly moving to UK in 2019. We've just closed the account as not needed. For the whole time, the staff were friendly, prompt to act and reply, helpful and diligent. And you can talk to someone on the phone, in either language. I only wish that British banks were up to their standard.
I moved my account from Credit Agricole in the Ariege to the Britline branch in Normandie. The English speaking staff were always helpful and efficient and I would certainly recommend this bank to anyone who is not a fluent French speaker and needs abit of helpful advice and service! Thank you Britline.
