We purchased our BYD seal car two weeks ago, tge service from Charlie Ryan and Jacob have been superb could not fault the way they explained all the fine details regarding the car and have contacted us on numerous times to ask how we are getting on with our new car and if we needed to know anything or any concerns to pop in to see them

From walking into the BYD South West - Exeter showroom to leaving with my new BYD Seal my whole experience has been absolutely fantastic.
Dealing mainly with Ruth with back up from Kirsty and Ryan was a real pleasure, nothing was ever too much trouble.
Picked my new car up on the 8/09/25 and the whilst the handover was seamless it was also very thorough.
The car drives like a dream...one happy chap! :)

I bought my Seal U DM-i from BYD South West Exeter after spending some time researching the car online. Gemma and Ryan assisted me during my initial visit to the showroom for a test drive, which led to my purchase, and later during my follow-up visit to complete the part-exchange and handover of my new car. They responded promptly to my questions and emails. Everything was handled very professionally and friendly, and I’d have no concerns recommending the Exeter branch to others.

Toby looked after us from the 1st meeting and test drive of the Seal U comfort model, we had a lovely afternoon, which is why I returned from Barry in Wales to purchase a new vehicle at the beginning of September 2025.
Toby has been in touch a number of times since to see how we are getting on with the car.
I will definitely consider returning to BYD Taunton to purchase another vehicle in the future.
The one thing that can be improved,
The BYD dealership in Taunton is in its infancy, with a small office and car park.
Hopefully it can grow into a bigger dealership.

We came across BYD at a shopping centre and were really impressed with the quality and features, which got us curious about EVs. Visiting the dealership confirmed it for us, Charlie took the time to explain everything clearly, with no pressure at all. He was approachable, answered every question we had, and made the whole process simple. Along with Jacob, he helped us through the sale quickly and smoothly. Picked up our Atto 2 yesterday and absolutely love it. Couldn’t be happier with the service from both of them!

Cannot fault BYD South West - Exeter at all. From my first contact (email) to the collection of my new Seal. Ruth and Ryan were both great. They were knowledgeable, helpful, attentive and responded to my queries very efficiently. Nothing was too much trouble, and the whole process was simple, quick and smooth. I would definitely recommend.

We called on a Tuesday and collected the vehicle on Thursday. Deven was helpful, fastidious, pleasant and always called back when he said he would, unlike another dealer we were looking to purchase from. A real asset to the dealership. I believe he’s a trainee but he knocks spots off the salesmen we have dealt with in the past, of which there are many. Thank you for a painless transaction.

I was on the lookout for my next car, BYD came up and I decided to book a test drive, Ruth was so helpful not only when I had to call to re arrange but on the day! But warm, friendly and knowledgeable, nothing was too much trouble she came from a point of experience in what she is promoting and a genuine care and amazing amount of time which is rare with other car dealers, Thank you for a great experience and introduction to BYD I look forward to seeing this site grow. 10/10

A very good experience I would recommend them,

I ordered a BYD Seal through the Tusker salary sacrifice scheme, the delivery of which was arranged through City West County. The entire process has been plagued with some quite serious problems, so this is unfortunately quite a lengthly review.

I originally ordered the car in December 2024 with a quoted delivery time of 8 weeks. 21 weeks later, I chased Tusker as I could see the car was at the dealership and had been for a couple of weeks. I was told the car had failed its pre-delivery checks due to the wrong interior being supplied - I'd ordered the black, what had arrived was the ice blue. After having waited so long for the car, I told Tusker I'd accept it as it was.

The car was delivered on the 21st May and it was immediately obvious it had been significantly damaged. The rear boot was dented. There were 8 chips of paint missing all along the rear bumper. There was a paint defect under the lacquer on the bootlid. The front seat was quite literally black with dirt. I took the car on the proviso the damage would be quickly rectified.

I was contacted by someone called Kai for CWC who assured me it would all be fixed and that it would be personally checked by him before it came back. On the 21st June they tried to redeliver it - the dent had been fixed, but there had been absolutely no attempt to repair either the damage in the bumper or the bootlid paint defect. I refused delivery of the car and this time, I requested that as I no longer trusted them to complete the repairs, I wanted an entirely new vehicle be delivered to me, this time with the correct interior. They accepted.

I was supplied with a hire car during this time, which while it was a lovely car, was clearly neglected. It was overdue a service by 3 months, it had 3 slow punctures in the tyres, it had what appeared to be a coolant leak which stopped it from charging fully while we were away, and it had electrical gremlins - with heated seats coming on full blast at random, and one of the rear brake lights sometimes refusing to turn off when parked.

Eventually the new car was delivered on the 29th July, mercifully free of damage and the correct order. Despite all the problems, I had no intention of leaving this review, until today, when I called Tusker to ask them to update the registration they held for me, as it still showed the original vehicle. Tusker were incredibly confused as they weren't aware there was ever an issue. After 45 minutes on the phone, they informed me that CWC hadn't followed process, and they weren't aware I had a new car at all. This means that the car wasn't registered with their fleet company and therefore wasn't insured, for me or anyone to drive it. So I've been unknowingly driving around in an uninsured car for a week, putting myself, my passengers and my licence at risk. Now I'd like to make this clear - CWC absolutely never informed me of this. They told me I'd need to let Tusker know of my new registration, but that was it. According to Tusker, CWC should have immediately informed them and provided the chassis number before the car was even delivered to me.

Overall, an absolutely diabolical experience, I have to say legitimately the worst service I've ever experienced from any business ever, which I feel is really saying something. The only positive experience I had was with Molly, who kindly sent a bunch of sentimental items I'd left in the original car home to me via special delivery.
I hope I never have to cross paths with CWC again.

Chicaine was very helpful when we were looking at the available models and organised a deal on a de-fleeted model which was exactly what we wanted.
