Cala Homes is a company in complete disarray. The widespread redundancies, constant staff turnover, and sudden changes to specification tell you everything you need to know about the state of their organisation.

Leadership is visibly absent, coordination is non‑existent, and the quality of both workmanship and management has collapsed.

There is no meaningful oversight of contractors. Trades are left unsupervised, issues are signed off without inspection, and customers are left to chase basic information that any competent developer would provide proactively. Cala behaves more like a sales agent than a housebuilder, with no accountability once the sale is completed.

The culture is geared entirely towards money, reputation management, and game‑playing. Any good service you receive is likely engineered purely to secure positive feedback rather than to deliver genuine customer care.
Once you move in, the façade drops quickly.
Poor leadership, poor quality, poor coordination, and no contractor management. Cala Homes has become a company that prioritises revenue and optics over responsibility, standards, or integrity.

Avoid.

Marius did an excellent job fixing the skirting board on my stairs. He was punctual, professional, and completed the work to a very high standard. The repair was carried out with great attention to detail, and the finished result looks excellent. He was also friendly, respectful, and left everything clean and tidy. I’m very pleased with the quality of his workmanship and would highly recommend Marius to anyone looking for a reliable and skilled staff.

Site operatives Martin Hales and Chris Denny were friendly, polite, professional and helpful.

Martin Hales and Chris Denny were very helpful in politely explaining the issue to us and then going above and beyond in trying to ensuring that the problem gets appropriately resolved. We’re expecting a revisit to ensure the problem is resolved completely.

We have been living in our new home at Cross Trees Park Shrivenham for 14 months. We are impressed with the build quality, the overall finish and the willingness to rectify the inevitable ‘snags’ which have mostly been of a minor nature. Gerry the site manager was very helpful when we first moved in. However we had an ongoing external issue which we found unacceptable and difficult to live with.
After discussions with Abby in Customer services Chilton and Simon, who carried out an on site inspection, the problem has been resolved to our complete satisfaction.
Abbey and Simon are an absolute credit to Cala Homes. They are very understanding, empathetic and a pleasure to work with. On the practical side Simon brings a ‘can do’ attitude and consummate skills to whatever task he undertakes.
From the delightful sales ladies going forward we have had a very positive customer experience with Cala Homes. Thank you!

We bought a house in Calderwood, West Lothian and from the moment we enquired about the plot Rob was fantastic. He worked so hard to ensure we were happy with everything, was never pushy and was very proactive when contacted. Izzy took over when Rob went on annual leave and she was equally as fantastic. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Cala’s sales team and can’t thank Rob and Izzy enough for helping us get our dream home.

Jo was very helpful and knowledgeable and provided all the information that is needed by any prospective buyer at this new site.

Never had a new home before, and my husband was ill, so did not have time to just pop over and see the property, From the first impression I had of Jo and Beckie at Cala homes on the phone, was so positive that I felt I had to visit the place this was located in Hampshire. Their friendliness' and helpfulness did not go by un-noticed. what a lovely experience of these two ladies, representing Cala homes and the impression they make on the customers, I have to really applaud them. Speaking to Jo, after a few minutes I was sold on the 'newbuild site' and area.
We have been in our property now for 5 weeks and the location and house does not disappoint us at all.
The area is fantastic, and the home is so well designed, everyone I have had in is so surprised at the layout and design. My husband spends all his time in the sunroom located off the dining area, but because of south-facing back I thought it would be overpowering with heat, like a conservatory, but the design and window and skylight location, light floods in but the sunshine does not cause it to overheat, and the window location gives lovely breeze during this hot weather. The follow up and feedback re: snags and other issues you get in a new build, has been rectified as soon as it is discussed except if we have to wait for items. Customer service follow up has been great, and we are kept informed.
We are so very happy, with our choice and trust in Jo and Beckie, who from start to finish have been fantastic, and a joy to deal with, their patience, while we waited in the selling of our old property, which was fraught at times, but I cannot praise them enough.
Well done! Cala also in the beautiful design and build of our home - We had reservations of moving into a new home, but this was not the case, it has been worth the move. and we look forward to many happy years in the area in the area of Hampshire, for our future years Perfect! Just a mention to Kerry Hall, without you and the professional follow up you did with our solicitor, throughout the whole experience, I am so glad for you and the assisted move service we opted for. Your follow up in keeping the solicitor on cue, and chasing them up, to keep it all on track was highly commendable, and eased so much of the frantic stress for me so A Big Thank You! for your persistent and hard work, looking after other Cala customers and especially us with the stress we were under. A consummate professional in every aspect, it was such a relief, knowing you were on the case, and would follow up everything when it was required, it really made my burden lighter.

George was very helpful and obliging and completed the work with care and attention. It was a pleasure to deal with him.

Cala homes, Gilchrist Gardens Erskine.
6.5 years on and Cala have not completed the site access roadway and have left the entrance road with hazard cones and wire fencing in place and raised drain covers all hazards that are hindering the safety of car users being able to access their houses.
Come on Cala, get your finger out and complete the roads into the estate.
***Following Cala’s reply, let’s all hope that it doesn’t take another 6.5 Years for them to obtain the permits and finally get the roundabout done as was part of their commitment for obtaining their planning permit from the council to get to build these houses!***

Very pleased with the work carried out by Marius today. Very polite and professional. An excellent painting and caulking job in my downstairs bathroom after a leak. Looks lovely and fresh.

Slow communication related to requests related to legal exchange, build delays with no firm updates on completion dates, inflexible with limited options. Disappointing buying experience. A more proactive approach to communication, greater flexibility where possible, and practical support when delays increase customers’ moving costs would have made the experience feel far more customer-focused.

Edwina, Sophie and Maria were absolutely fantastic throughout our home-buying journey.

From our initial visit, where they took the time to discuss which homes would be most suitable for us, they made us feel supported and never under any pressure. As first-time buyers, we had lots of questions, including what we thought were probably some “silly” ones, but they were always happy to help and explain everything clearly.

We have now been in our home for almost a month, and they are still more than willing to answer any questions we have. Their friendly, approachable and helpful nature made the whole process much easier, and we are so grateful for all of their support.

We can't thank Liz enough for all of her help and support throughout the process of selecting our new home at the Wimborne development. We are currently in the process of selling our existing home, and Liz has been incredibly friendly, helpful and reassuring every step of the way.

Nothing has been too much trouble, and she's always been there to answer our questions and offer support.

Charlie in the sales office has also been fantastic, welcoming, professional and just as helpful whenever we've visited.

They are both a real credit to Cala Homes, and they've made what can be a stressful process feel so much easier. We would highly recommend the Wimborne development to anyone considering a move.

Buying my home on the Cala Homes development in Wimborne has been a fantastic experience from start to finish. The quality of my home is excellent, and the whole process has been smooth and easy.

A huge thank you has to go to Liz, the sales agent, who has been absolutely amazing throughout. From the very first visit, she made me and my family feel so welcome with her warm, friendly approach. Nothing has ever been too much trouble, and she’s always been on hand to answer questions, provide updates, and make sure everything runs as smoothly as possible.

Liz is incredibly organised, completely on the ball, and has an amazing eye for detail. She genuinely cares about her customers and goes above and beyond to make the whole experience stress-free. Her professionalism, kindness, and dedication have made all the difference, and we couldn’t have asked for better support.

Just had our second visit to Meg and Ann in Lathallan Grange.
Again had great knowledge and made us feel at ease, last visit Ann was very helpful as we had a look around the gorgeous show homes and today we had Meg pulling maps and diagrams out to show us more of the development .
We definitely feel these ladies will be there for any questions or assistance we need when we buy our new home.

Professional and friendly, entertaining many questions and walking us around to see additional style homes whilst not yet available for viewing. Thank you Dawn
