Customer Service is just AI
Customer Service is just AI. no matter which way you phrase or ask your question/concern, you will never get an actual answer. its just a few scripted responses ! eventually they will ask you to start from scratch "for security purposes please start a new claim".
they will monitor all your data, then offer links with reward bonuses which mostly will be ineligible. cant even dispute the eligibility till the return window is closed. its fraud!
Offers rarely come through
Don't give them your shopping data for free. Their promotions and supposed reward offers almost never come through. And it's impossible to get help. Use other cards!
They promise you rewards and you don't get them
Capitol One Shopping offers rewards and cash back but when you claim them you either don't get them or they adjust the amounts. This is false advertising at its best! DON'T EXPECT ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY!
Walgreens/Scam/Customer Service-Have no expectations
Have ordered at least 6 times using the Walgreen savings offers... have NEVER received direct credit or acknowledgement for ANY of the purchases. Have sent numerous notes to customer service with details of transactions, dates, etc... they say everything to not address the issue... Have directly asked WHAT / WHY have purchases not received credit... the response is a list of things that might have occurred... BUT REFUSE TO PROVIDE EXACTLY WHY!!!
The App has worked fine for Walmart, Champion, Ebay to name a few... but NEVER WALGREEN.
I believe that this is just a ploy/scam to purchase... If others have experienced this... start complaining as maybe further action needs to be initiated and seeing multiple complains may aid future action.
The final straw from customer service department came after at least 5 notes asking for the EXACT reason for the lack of credit for any WALGREEN purchase...
Received my final correspondence from Customer Service SUPERVISOR which read "We've reached a point where our customer service team can't proceed further. We are unable to move forward with your original request. Thank you for your understanding."
For customer service to state that... do not waste a lot of your time.... they do not care about their product.
TOTAL bait and switch scam company
TOTAL bait and switch scam company. They promise rewards and even after reading all of the fine print, will void rewards entirely and won't resolve. They should be sued.
Cant even use their stupid app
Cant even use their stupid app, because if you click the oh get 15% cash back at aliexpress! then they make you shop in their stupid little pop up window, which guess what, AUTO REDIRECTS TO ALIEXPRESS APP WHEN YOU HIT ANY BUTTON, making the rewards useless. There is no way to stop this on iphone besides uninstalling the aliexpress app, which i lose all my coupons then.. Absolutely frustrating and a waste of my goddamned time.
Customer service is lacking
Digging through the website to find a way to contact customer service is frustrating. As far as I can tell, there is no way to contact them other than by email. After sending around 3-4 emails to try to get my questions answered, I still don't have any real answers. Instead, I get the same templated response saying I must wait 60+ days before they will review my account. (I'm starting to think that they didn't actually read my email or that the customer service is AI.) At the 60-day mark, it will likely be too late to fix the issue I was contacting them about.
Capital One/Capital One Shopping should…
Capital One/Capital One Shopping should not be allowed to con consumers with offers and then not come through!!!! I am done with them. Can't speak with Capital One Shopping, emails go unanswered. Even reached out to corporate, nothing!!! I will be taking my business elsewhere!!!!
I would give zero stars if that was an…
I would give zero stars if that was an option. I had around $160 in rewards. I was eligible to get another $50 for a purchase then I noticed all of my rewards had vanished!! No record of them at all. What a total scam
Old email attached to account
Last summer, our local internet provider got out of the email business so we switched to gmail. A few weeks ago, I went to Capital One Shopping to look for `a specific gift card and found that it was still attached to my old email address. After many, many emails back and forth trying to gain access to my Shopping account, I'm told that there is nothing that they can do and I will need to forfeit the $262 in my account.
Deceptive "40% Back" offer is a mathematical illusion
I received a targeted offer for 40% back on ParkSleepFly through Capital One Shopping. I booked a hotel/parking package totaling roughly $450. There was absolutely zero warning on the activation screen or checkout page that the 40% would only apply to a tiny $59 merchant deposit, resulting in a small $23 credit instead of the advertised rate on the full purchase.
You have to dig through microscopic hyperlinks in marketing emails to find this exclusion. I think Capital One Shopping intentionally splashes a massive percentage next to a full hotel package to bait the click, knowing full well it only applies to pennies. I think they use deceptive marketing—be incredibly wary of using their travel portal offers.
Deleted after constant interruptions and zero real savings
I installed Capital One Shopping hoping it would actually help me save money while browsing, which is the entire premise they advertise. Instead, I got a relentless stream of pop-ups and notifications that constantly interrupted what I was doing. It felt less like a helpful tool and more like an aggressive marketing engine running in the background of my browser.
The coupons were the bigger disappointment. Nearly every time a code was offered, it either didn’t apply at checkout, was expired, or simply didn’t work as promised. After enough failed attempts, it became clear that the “savings” are largely theoretical and more of a hook to keep you engaged with the extension than a source of real value.
I deleted both the app and the browser extension before ever attempting to redeem rewards because the core product never delivered on its misleading offerings. A browser extension that monitors your activity needs to justify that access with consistent, tangible results. This one didn’t.
I’d strongly urge anyone considering it to read the privacy policy carefully before installing. The data collection scope is broad, capturing your browsing history, purchase behavior, and location, and once that data is collected, deleting the app doesn’t make it disappear. That’s a significant trade-off for a coupon tool that couldn’t reliably apply a discount code.
Would not recommend, and I won’t be returning.
Deceptive advertising and promo
I made some purchases last month with active offers like spend 50 get 50 back. Because of this offers I deactivated another valuable offers just to find out weeks later that Capital One shopping denied the offers as ineligible. I followed their shady instructions. Don't trust them and don't deactivate any offers you have outside Capital One Shopping or you will get nothing.
After doing much research I would not…
After doing much research I would not do this app. Follow the actual reviews. When clicking on the 5 star reviews it is obvious that they are all bots. Or they used this app two years ago. I luckily did not download this app nor do I plan on it. If you end up still shopping through it after reading through all the reviews than that is on you.
Capital One Shopping does not credit…
Capital One Shopping does not credit rewards properly. Don’t trust this app. If you complain that you were not properly credited with a reward, customer service will deny your claim.
Incorrect rewards, useless customer service. Don't bother
Too many times my reward purchase either was deemed "ineligible" or the reward amount was substantially less than what the offer I clicked on advertised (seems like someone should be able to get them on false advertising). When trying to get help from customer service, the response is either "it hasn't been long enough" or "this is what the store reported," both ending with "we can't do anything." Adding to my dissatisfaction is the unreliability of specific gift card availability. Lowe's/HomeDepot/Kohl's are only available intermittently so you can't count on those. I'm done with them.
Scamer's website
Scamer's website, software that steals your data. No reward you can get.
Pretty much what everyone on here has…
Pretty much what everyone on here has already stated, I've dealt with. Currently my rewards are -$54... how does that even happen? How do you go negative in rewards? It's such a scam and I'm permanently alienated from CapOne now. I paid that card off and will no longer use it. Screw me? Screw you!
It's a scam and have never received any…
It's a scam and have never received any of my rewards.
Modern day era BAIT & SWITCH
Modern day era BAIT & SWITCH! Clicked on the link and it showed tickets for $137. Went to go about a possible purchase and NOPE!! Just under 200 was the best. SCAM!!
