They are very efficient- always keen to help with a query and have made us aware of what we're entitled to with regards to Apprenticeship Grants- without this service we would have missed out on money we didn't realise we could claim

Taken the test several times in centre over the years but decided on the online test for convenience. I now feel like I've been trapped in the 9th circle of hell for the last 48 hours! Despite passing all the system checks, when the time came to start the test I was just left looking at a page of computer code. Contacted Pearson Vue who assured me I could rebook the test in a centre free of charge. Incorrect. I'm being charged again to rebook. Contacted Pearson Vue again who told me they were unable to help and directed me to the citb ecourses website (test was booked on citb ecourses website for £99) which urges you to contact Pearson Vue! At the end of the day, I need to do this test to renew my cscs card so I can go to work! My advice would be avoid the online test at all costs and book into your nearest centre.

I recently passed my sssts course with Asten , he made it a great experience with his knowledge and experiences he has had. High recommend

Just attended the 5 day SMSTS course delivered by Mark Dixon. Course was great, Mark throughly covered all topics throughout and gave, good real life site examples to areas that then made you relate to and understand better. Mark was very knowledgeable and approachable throughout the whole course. Highly recommended.

I had my SSSCS course recently and I was very happy with the delivery from Mark Dixon, I really enjoyed his method of teaching and the Q&A between all the topics, he was very helpful and kept the group engaged well.

Just completed the citb sssts course with Derek Howie.

The test was a lot to take in, in just two days but with the help of derek it made it a lot easy. Great teacher!!

Glad it’s done now but really did learn a lot exactly on the health and safety side of thing.

Terrible stay away from them you do a test and don’t get a certificate after spending triple what you needed to

They are an absolute stain

Awful awful awful. Booked online test my laptop passed the requirements, when it come to taking the test it wouldn't work and they won't refund me asif its my fault when I passed the requirement test an hour before.

Bad company. Avoid using direct use a 3rd party pay extra £20 on test but you have SECURITY.

I do not recommend, I paid twice to take the online test and both times the test did not open, after 15 minutes of trying of course it opened but with the message that I entered too late

Avoid the online H&S test at all cost!!!
I’ve personally sat the test & passed twice at a test centre. It’s now my sons turn, so the benefit of being able to undertake the test online seemed a perfect option, oh how wrong we were!!
Horrendous level of nonsense just trying to access the test. It won’t work on 2 separate laptops from 2 different firms, won’t work on a personal tablet. 24/7 testing offered but only working week support provided.
Now rescheduled for a 3rd time, will be calling customer services to see if we can swap to a test centre instead.
When you read other reviews, we’re clearly not the only ones to fall foul of this poor service.
CITB surely if this is happening repeatedly, the problem sits with the platform being used by Pearson Vue to provide the testing and not the people paying for the tests!

I’ve just finished doing the online test and have to say what a horrible experience from start to finish. I’m not computer savvy, my brother is, so i asked him to set up his Mac book for me to do it. He knows what he’s doing but he said it was an absolute nightmare just trying to set it all up . Finally got it ready to go and then the bloody test started whilst he was helping me get ready in front of the screen!!! Then to top that at the last question I lost the screen (which wasn’t down to bad internet connection before anyone jumps to conclusions!) Anyway, i know this sounds like sour grapes but the whole process is/was unnecessarily made difficult. Not everyone is a wizard with a computer!This is just one big con and an exercise in rinsing money from people, who at the end of the day are just trying to go through the ‘supposedly’ right process to be able to do an honest day’s work. Disgraceful 😡
So update!! It turns out that I’ve passed this second test then , which after the debacles I described above is frankly very ( albeit) pleasantly surprising because i said to myself that if i fail I would definitely not be giving them any more of my money ! Trouble is now I’ve finally got to this stage, suprise surprise it’s another £65 I think to actually obtain the cscs green card!! 😡.And, upon reading the reviews of them (cscs) and people having their money taken but not actually receiving their cards, and customer service being absolutely nonexistent or shit at best I’m not holding out much hope 🫤.
The whole business, Citb and cscs and whoever is behind all these money rinsing operations should be brought to account, the government or someone needs to step in and stop this daylight robbery!! Skilled people with experience, indeed honest people who just want to be able to earn and do an honest day’s work are getting fleeced and the whole process is way too complicated , expensive, and difficult to navigate. I have never spent this much time writing a review of this sort, but i feel this needs to be brought to attention and my experience is obviously not an isolated one by any means if you read more. It’s all about ticking boxes and being able to deflect liability.As others have mentioned, some of the questions in the tests could easily be various answers offered, it’s just how there are wording them and have absolutely no relevance to real world situations on sites that people like me have experienced over the last thirty five years. If I ran a business the same way as these mobs do I’d be on one of these tv shows like watchdog or something, being accused of ripping everyone off!! 🤣.All in all, a sham, a scam and a scandal! .Disgusting.

A Government backed tax, sorry charity. Yep, another tax. That's all it is. Sure you can try to get some money back to fund training, if you're lucky. So now the construction industry are dealing with inflated material costs, taxation and uncertainty across the nation so no one is spending money, and you have to pay to be a member of the CITB, what they mean is you get forced to be a member and have to pay.
Also, an online exam to show you know how to 'be safe' on site is just a load of rubbish, if we've all done all of these safety exams for CITB, CSCS etc then why do we even need site inductions anymore that just say the same stuff. It's all one giant money making scheme and has nothing to do with site safety or improving it !

Shocking applied for a grant got a letter telling me my payment was being processed after 9 weeks of waiting called to see what was going on and then got told my grant had been rejected, absolute con will never be involved again in my life. Do not waste your time wouldn’t surprise if they had the money from the government and just made up an excuse not to pay.

I did this test a few months ago.
I had to spend loads of time memorising all the questions.
Then on the day I got 100%
The questions are designed to trick you the exam is designed to make sure that you spend loads of time learning how to pass.
I can safely say that I learnt nothing and have put that nightmare behind me.

would not even allow me to pay a former complaint in wouldn't allow me to do nothing try to book the test and wouldn't allow me to put the test all because I was dyslexic in the scruminating me against my dyslexicthis is a disgrace someone who's trying to get into the demolition industry and someone who's trying to get into the industry and this is against my rights

Just attended the CITB SMSTS refresher to requalify. This was a 2 day course completed online. A dry subject but like all H&S absolutely necessary to keep the industry safe. I was most impressed by the tuto Mark Burgess whi was extremely professional and delivered a great course with some great examples from his years of experience. Thanks Mark see you in 3 years mate.

Arrived at a test centre with identification but was quickly and rudely asked to step aside whilst somebody else got booked in. I tried to reach out to staff and ask for assistance but they was reluctant to explain anything in full but lead and pointed me to a notice board. Completely un professional, asking for so much identification is ridiculous for a basic skills test.
