I have had calm and helpful support from L & C throughout the whole process of switching provider and remortgaging my flat. Was recommended a law firm called XYZ…
Was recommended a law firm called XYZ Law, which was shutdown by the SRA a few weeks after my completion.
Now dealing with Land Registry and another firm to correct registration of my new home at my expense.
Just wanted to inform people that they probably do NO vetting of the solicitors they put you in touch with.

We do carry out extensive vetting of all our solicitors on panel, however, in this case XYZ Law's closure by their regulator was not something we were given any notice of.
All your costs should be covered by the SRA's compensation fund (https://www.sra.org.uk/consumers/compensation-fund/), so please, don't go out of pocket on this!
