Super-complicated online system, sending back and forth. Customer service which hangs up mid-sentence.
After 15 years in dealing with licensing and renewing I can say it's getting worse and worse.

I have applied for CSCS card through Construction Certifications (which I did not know I could have done it directly with CSCS website!) When I applied I asked to update my photo with another photo as I was not happy with the photo taken at CITB test centre (I was not informed they would take a photo) Construction Certification asked me to send an email and attaching a new photo which I did, they also sent me a screen shot that they have updated CSCS about new photo, but my card was still issued with the old photo!!! Construction Certification does not want to do anything except sending me screen shots that they have updated CSCS and CSCS tells me to ask Construction Certification to contact them, so both are playing with me, that is why my reviews will remain forever even if the problem is solved as I had too much time waste and stress for a mistake that I have not done it. These two have to deal with this issue and they don't, CSCS shamelessly tells me to pay 36 pounds for a new card! There should be some other organisations giving similar cards I believe, currently looks like monopoly!

In my forty years of working in construction today was the first day ever of not being allowed on site due to not having my "card".
I produced my citb test pass certificate, that I've shown on every site previously, and that should be the only thing needed to prove competence on site.
I was told I would not be allowed on as I don't have the qualifications to get on site even though I showed my out of date blue skilled worker card which I've held since it's inception in 1995.
Maybe it's time everyone boycotted this money grabbing racket and see how it pans out!!!!!

A few months ago I wrote a review about difficulty trying to review my Gold CSCS card at that time i couldn't find my QUALIFICATIONS I am 66 so stuff gets lost over time..Anyway recently found a photo of my QUALIFICATIONS on my phone .I have replied to CSCS TO get my card again but cannot upload the photo to verify my QUALIFICATIONS no matter how hard I try You cannot phone them because it goes to their cos y partners Pearson. All I am able to do is try and get a screenshot of my card but it is all file types they want.I am a guy that just wants to work but the money grabbers. at CITB and CSCS are making it really difficult to get validated.The CSCS Site has got to be one of the worst sites possible to use I tried. To upload my QUALIFICATIONS from the phone but every time I tried it wanted me to start as a brand new opening account.If you are sitting in your office having never worked on a site in your life and are making it hard for people to get into work I hope you get karma you deserve.Give me the ability to work not much to ask is it?

All they want (gov.uk) is to rip you from any angle possible .. so every 2 years you have to pay again taxes , fees etc ...in nederlands is 10 years valid the cscs .. here use to be 5 .. now 2 .. whats next ???!

didn't deliver my card despite being paid for and then when I requested a signature as evidence of its delivery they replied "good afternoon unfortunately we cannot advise you as it has been over 90 days".. so they took over 90 days to send out my card and are refusing to help me because they took so long to send it out.

CSCS: Not Fit for Purpose, Set-Up for Finacial Gain, Not Legally Required.

With tens of thousands of construction workers to find in the industry, the new CSCS and 'forced' NVQ requirements will put individuals off at entry level and encourage seasoned construction professionals to leave.

It is time that organisations & recruiters sought solutions elsewhere that reflected the practical experience gained by individuals and their competency.

I would like to commend Saskia for her support today in assisting me to apply for my son’s cscs card. Her calm demeanour and kindness was exemplary and am grateful to her for guiding me through the process to completion. In an increasingly tech driven world it is a blessing to experience a human touch and empathy in action.

Absolutely laughable process of getting a card…. Passed the test, provided qualifications, paid fees etc.
Emails from documents saying reply when you can’t reply, phone number on email is disconnected, customer service has zero clue…. what a shambles just for a card which isn’t legally required!

Absolute scam. Multiple overpriced tests that can easily be cheated, to later be told there are even more tests for additional fees. Nothing is made clear in the beginning. Complete money making scam that does nothing for safety in the construction industry. Time for a new company to take over.

It’s beginning to feel like a scam I paid £43 plus the £190 for the first piece to able to get the cscs card which when booking it say £43 for the test and card now it’s saying I have to paid a another £62 pound to get the card does this ever end. Who is making the money from this. Please look into all the cost before getting the card.

In reality the CSCS card is useless, I do not know why it holds so much sway on sites, a 10 year old child could pass the H&S test after reading the book for a bit so I don't even see the point in that... However they are making it harder and harder to get cards for no real reason, certain college qualifications that Apprentices get awarded for our line of work "they don't recognise" so we can't actually get our Apprentices "officially on site, you have to jump through hoops to get a labourer a card and now you cannot even apply for a card until the one someone holds has expired, then you don't have the continuity if a certain site has an over the top Safety guy and is a stickler for the dates....
Have just been trying to renew an employee card, who has had a card for 15 years +, I can't renew it, I have to apply for a new one and resubmit all his qualifications etc once again once his current one expires, I know thats going to be a pain now..........

Just wondering Why it's so hard to obtain, a cscs blue card now.
Website is useless.
Just spent three hours, trying to upload, my qualifications, still can't!
Phoned helpline 3 time now, got told a different thing each time, rudely spoken to once. You've made something complicated, that should be very easy.
I will not be giving anymore of my money to CSCS, useless organisation!

Probably the worst app I have ever used. Hard to update information. Poor layout, like an app from 20 years ago. Poor design, poor layout, poor graphics,

No wonder no one wants to be in the construction industry with clowns like you and spending 1000s of pounds on your card it's nearly impossible to carry on working on site so get some more Albania frauds to carry on the truly shocking standards of work they set 1.5 million houses are year 😂😂😂😂😂🤔🤔🤔🤔

The CSCS scheme is full of graduates who do not understand what a trade really is they think a bit of paper is more important than experience to be honest it’s just leaching of the working man again wait and see how it goes when labour try to up the rate of house building not a hope the government should kick these people into the long grass the scheme is not fit for purpose I’d like to see these people get a proper job

UPDATE - After some misunderstandings ... finally they managed to renew my cscs card L 3 in wood carpentry.
5 stars are for when everything is perfect, so i give just 3 stars and ... thank you !

I’ve owned a card from its inception but this renewal was a real eye opener. This company’s customer service is about as bad as it gets, their staff were rude, aggressive, argumentative and pretty incompetent. They don’t have a basic knowledge of the system they’re using and have no idea about the product, they seem oblivious to what the card represents or any knowledge of what qualifications are allowed or accepted. As you can see from the other reviews this company is not fit for purpose, the fact they have a monopoly seems to nurture a culture of arrogance and contempt, perhaps if there were other companies offering this service they would have to up their game but as it stands card holders have to deal with this outfit. Fortunately for me this is the last time I will need to renew my card so I won’t have to deal with this company again.

THIS IS A MONEY MAKING SCAM.
My son applied for a CSCS card and passed test. then paid £65 for a card but told need to pass a health and safety test but can have a temporary card for 6 months but it will take weeks to arrive.
As a student working during summer break this was useless as would be back at university by then.
Asked for a refund and the only offered £41, net loss £24.
After continually chasing no refund after 7 working days.
This company has outshopped all calls to India who are useless.

I have now contacted my MP regarding this and has now raised the case as a formal MP Enquiry.
