Copy and paste glitches
I like that I can copy and paste the shifts, this makes it a lot faster of a process. Deputy can have some glitches sometimes where you cannot paste shifts for backshift, as it pops up with an error stating it is a bad request: end should be greater than start. Usually, the next day deputy is back to normal.

Reliable
Reliability and accuracy lot Deputy is very high. Having worked with a bunch of others, I strongly recommend Deputy.
Annual leave system is underdeveloped but at premium price
I would echo what recent reviews are saying about Deputy support but my main gripe is about the annual leave management system. It's underdeveloped but comes at a premium cost.
When things go wrong, and they have done frequently for us due to the merging of two Deputy accounts and the recent updates to the system, be prepared to spend days and days working out what's gone wrong and how to fix it. Deputy claims to save you time and streamline processes, and it has done that for scheduling, but far from it for annual leave. We'd be better off with pen and paper!
Simple things can't be done, such as:
1) Exporting a CSV file showing total number of holiday days per employee per pay cycle (it displays on the custom report but doesn't export to CSV)
2) Employees being able to check how many days leave they have remaining on their mobile app (it's never accurate as leave approved for the following year will be deducted from the current year's balance)
There was an issue with the last update where you had to mark annual leave timesheets as paid before they would deduct from the balance. We pay monthly, so this meant the balances were incorrect all month until that one day they got marked as paid. This has now been rectified by Deputy, but it left us out of pocket as we overpaid holiday to a number of people during that time. No compensation from Deputy for releasing an untested update to it's customers.
As others have said, you can never speak to a Manager so in sheer desperation in Nov 2023, I reached out to one of the Customer Success Managers, Kat Doria on LinkedIn and she did arrange a video call with me.
During the call she said she'd help with a few things, including sorting the problem we've been having for 12 months now regarding the duplication of shift offers...
...but she never got back to me.
So disappointing!

I wasted an hour just trying to explain the problem to people who couldn't speak English very well. Borderline unethical given the claims they make.
Pray nothing goes wrong. Customer service terrible
So disappointed in their customer service. Have been trying to fix a synching issue with Xero for 5 months. Basically the customer service involves apologizing and saying the issue will be escalated.
Its seems the goal is to make you so frustrated you give up. There is no way to speak to a manager or anyone in charge. They have set it up so there is no accountability. You will just keep going in circles
Apart from the synching issues it seems to work well which is why the customer service response is so frustrating.
Downfall of Deputy
I have used deputy for many years, where has the support gone. trying to get help with one issue and support is non existent. they use to be so good with their support
Non existent support when you need it
Regrettably, Deputy has provided the worst customer support I've ever encountered. A simple request was met with an astoundingly complex and outdated process.
The support representative offered no direct assistance and simply forwarded our concern to another team. It's as if they were washing their hands off our issue rather than genuinely helping.
This experience has been frustrating and has seriously tarnished Deputy's reputation for us. Frankly, it's made us reconsider our choice of software provider.
Bottom line: If you're looking for reliable and efficient customer support, steer clear of Deputy.
No solution
Been brilliant for years but now a complete inability to deal with a glitch and they're not being transparent about what the problem is.
Being Admin cannot make changes to Employee's details
Being Administrative we cannot change mobile phone of employee if you make an error when entering their details to profile.
Employee can give their access to other because they have authority to change their number and emails.
No notifications are received when any employee changes their name, mobile number , email or other contact details.
No option for restricting an employee to certain location.
App freezes sometime when entering notes, employees are unable to log out many time.

Best and affordable software for labour management currently available on the market. Easy to sign up and easy to implement. All needed controls are in place for clock in, approval and wages pay out. Staff can see the breakdown of the shifts they worked and paid for. Holidays approval, unavailability days, open shifts are very useful. Reporting is also decent. Saves me so much time preparing information for payroll.
Love the functionality
We just recently started using Deputy and are really pleased with its functionality. I really like the reminders about anniversaries and birthdays!

Love Deputy - we moved over to them for scheduling our 500+ workforce. Deputy has really made our scheduling process much more efficient and so now we are moving all our timesheets over to them too!

Deputy is the best!
Deputy has so many features and so precision about the time, also they can remind us our shift. And we can put our shift in calendar automaticaly so our phone can remind us what time to go to arrived on time!
Seamless. Constant Improvements & Updates
I started a management position and this was the platform that was recommended we use for scheduling and timesheets/payroll. At first, it was slightly complex but there’s a lot you can do on here! Over the past year, the software has made great improvements and now it’s super seamless to use. Really enjoy Deputy now 👏🏻
