Everything was great, the services were awesome. Dr Dogan excellent doctor did everything to make sure that I was safe and comfortable before and after surgery. I love the atmosphere and staff, language is a barrier but manage to get through things. Recommended to anyone who is wanting to get a sleeve or gastric bypass.

Hospital of horrors. Woke up during surgery the pain was indescribable. Woke up vomiting was shouted out by the nurses to stop vomiting because I was going to rupture my sutures managed to get to sleep. Next day Doctor came and was shouting at me to lift up my gown so he could change my dressings because of infection I just wanted pain relief before he did that because I was in agony. He just kept shouting at me that he he owned the hospital. I had to do what he said. He removed the drain and ripped off a surgical plaster which sent my muscles into spasm it was agony that day the nurses were so mean calling me witchy witch. They accessed my socials and were playing videos of my daughter outside my room. They were knocking on my door so that I couldn’t sleep. Somehow they were able to see in my room. One of the male nurses commented on my nipples. I discharge myself a day early. I found the surgery to be the most painful i’ve ever had. But mentally what the nurses put me through I wouldn’t want to put my worst enemy through. I stayed at the Cerrahi hospital in Istanbul. I strongly advise you to take someone with you do not go alone. You won’t see anything negative about the doctor as the translators make sure everything is deleted. Be very careful use a booking agency and like I said, don’t go alone it mentally broke me.

From the start Dr Dogan and his team give you lots of information about what is happening. Karem who we interacted with always gets back to you as quick as he can. Always there to answer any and all questions you have no matter how small or silly they may seem.
Booking the flights through Karem made the process so much easier. All we had to do was apply for visa on our own and show up to airport.
Once we arrived in Turkey it was pretty easy to navigate our way through the airport. Especially since they gave us all the information where to go ahead of our flight.
The driver was super friendly and the car/van we had was so nice. Felt special being driven around.
Mary greeted us at the car and helped us to check in at the hospital. She was very friendly and warm. Very easy to talk to and had lots of insight about what was going to happen. She would often just grab a bag to help get us to our room. She walked and waited with us to every procedure that needed doing. Always explaining what was going to happen next.
Morning of surgery comes along and we’re visited by Dr Dogan and he explains everything about the procedure what to expect and ask if we have any questions. That’s when I break a little as I’ve never been out of the country before and I’ve left my kids for the first time. Warm hand from him to reassure me that everything will be fine.
From being wheeled down to the surgical ward to waking up in my room was all a blur. Discomfort is the first thing I felt from all the gas they inject. I had read about it many times and knew I had to start moving. I just kept swishing my legs around doing anything to shift it. Once the nurses came in to get me up and moving and give pain meds things moved much better.
The breathing exercise they give you definitely helps so I will say make sure you keep up with that. Also try to burp as much as you can helps shift the gas and ease discomfort.
Daily check ins from Dr Dogan to see how I’m progressing gave me the reassurance I needed to know I was doing well.
I have to say the nursing staff were amazing. Super friendly and as helpful as they could be. Sometimes had a little trouble explaining what I needed but was able to Google translate if needed. They really did an amazing job.
Moving onto hotel stay and all the staff and drs come for final check ups and give everything you need to continue on your own. You’re constantly in contact with the WhatsApp if you need any help.
It was so nice to move into a bigger bed that I could stretch out in. Clean comfortable rooms. 2 nights there and then back to airport to fly home. We had the same driver the whole time which was nice.
I cannot thank the whole team enough for everything they have done for me.

I wished I done this sooner. First Kerem was Soo helpful to this day. He helped me understand and makes sure im okay everyday.

When I arrived the driver picked me and my partner in a nice maybach van with an amazing interior.

I got to the hospital kerem made sure I was comfortable and Mary was there all the time during my pre op checks. After the pre op checks were good and went into surgery. First day was abit hard but the nurses and Dr Dogan made sure that I was okay and in safe hands, 2nd day Dr Dogan advised me to walk more and drink more there was no pain but I felt sore like after doing 1000 situps. 3rd day the soreness decreases day by day. The hotel was very nice. I pretty much got to the hotel and went exploring Istanbul straight away.
Buse the dietian makes sure that I'm taking my daily water intake and getting my steps in. I'm back in Australia now 9 days post operation. Buse has been helping me with diet questions and recommends me what to drink.

I travelled all the way from Sydney, Australia and I had gastric sleeve last week and all i can say is AMAZING ! The whole team, the nurses and Dr Mahmut Dogan himself were so lovely ! Nothing was complicated at all , everything happened so smoothly and so easy ! They all made me feel so comfortable through the entire process and I honestly don’t know why I didn't do this sooner ! I have already lost 6kg in 6 days !! The healing process is so fast which is the best part about this experience which goes to show how great Dr Dogan is at his job. I am so thankful and so grateful for everyone and Dr Dogan himself , he really cares about ALL of his patients ❤️ if you’re thinking of doing this , DONT THINK JUST DO IT 😍😍

I travelled from Sydney and had the best experience.
I was very well looked after and even travelled on my own so i was even more scared, but they made me feel so safe and secure.

My friend and I traveled to Istanbul for WLS with Dr Dogan. We organized the surgery with Kerem his assistant whilst we’re in Australia. Kerem is amazing! He made the journey so smooth and effortless from booking the whole surgery in, telling us everything we need to know before we even arrive. I was scared to begin with but once we arrived it was such a easy and lovely experience, from being picked up from the airport and taken to the hospital, Kerem and the beautiful Mary organized all the pre opp scans straight away, then we had surgery, all the day we arrived! Which meant a lot to me as I have 2 little ones at home so didn’t want to be away from them to long. The surgery was amazing, Dr Dogan, Kerem, Mary and the whole team were perfect! They couldn’t have made this journey any better! I highly recommend Dr Dogan and his amazing team to anyone thinking of WLS. We are forever grateful for the steps to our new life! We have been looked after by the best of the best and are now relaxing in the hotel for two nights before flying home. Any questions we had Kerem responded straight away, he was always so efficient and friendly and such a beautiful person. The care never ends, their always their for you, every step of the way! 14. Dezember 2024 – der Tag, an dem sich mein Leben verändert hat. Ich habe meine Magenbypass-OP bei Dr. Mahmut Dogan gemacht und bin nur wenige Monate später schon 28 kg leichter. Ich fühle mich gesünder, glücklicher und bekomme Komplimente aus meinem ganzen Umfeld.

Ein riesiges Dankeschön geht auch an Ernährungsberaterin Tuğçe – sie ist wirklich 24/7 für mich da, beantwortet jede Frage mit Geduld und gibt mir auf meinem Weg unglaublich viel Sicherheit.

Ich habe nicht nur Gewicht verloren – sondern Lebensfreude, Selbstvertrauen und neue Energie gewonnen.

Excellent care from the first communication to ask about the procedure and how it works. Karem very helpful and informative explaining how it works what happens on a day to day basis. Dr Doğan excellent the operation went extremely well and had all tests before the surgery to ensure I was suitable. Ie endoscopy, bloods, ultrasound, ECG. Post Op care great all the nurses friendly. A1 service!

I had my surgery on the 3rd of April 2025 and I’m so glad I did. I flew from Melbourne for the gastric sleeve surgery but stayed for 10 nights so my support person and I could explore the beautiful city of Istanbul. It was truely amazing, I loved it there and would go back in a heartbeat.
Initially when I booked the flights I asked if I could stay at the hotel the extra nights so I could avoid moving around but Kerem told me it would be better to stay in a different area to sight see and recommend where to go and his advice was perfect and made our trip extra special!
Even though we were coming for the extra time we were still picked up from the airport and taken to our hotel and then transported from the hotel to the hospital as well for no extra cost!
Once I was at the hospital it was a little overwhelming going for all the tests and everyone around you speaking a foreign language then waiting for results and going in for surgery the same day (I think most people have the tests one day and surgery the next but this was changed for me so I could have as much time in Istanbul as possible). While this was overwhelming it was still comfortable due to the lovely staff. I had a translator that came around with me and she was lovely and answered any questions I asked to the best of her ability (even the weird drug induced ones I thought up while waking up from anaesthesia). The surgery went smoothly but when I woke up I was in incredible pain. I thought to myself “what have I done? I don’t want it anymore, put it back!” But after falling asleep and waking up a few times the pain went away and I began feeling normal. The Dietician Jenny is so sweet and gave all the information I needed and reassured me that it’s a lot to take in but she’s there if I have any questions and she will update me when I’m at each new stage of the post op diet etc. Kerem also helped me get my room changed at the hotel when we had a problem with the one we got smelling very strongly of cigarettes! I’m still in contact with both Jenny and Kerem who check in at every step. I’m only 7 days post op today and I feel great and have already lost 9kgs and feel better and more mobile than I have in a long time. I can’t thank the team enough 💕

I had a gastric sleeve on the 4th March from the first conversation with kerem to flying home I had no worries everyone was excellent from getting off the plane in Istanbul and getting off the plane in Manchester. As soon as I got there with my companion my transfer was waiting to take me to hospital. Once there filled all forms and was shown my room for the next 2 days. Had bloods/echocardiogram had my last meal before surgery very nice food. Next morning had endoscopy/xrays spoke to a doctor and then escorted back to room to get in my hospital gown and get ready for procedure was well taken care of. Had procedure and was bought back to my room. Incisions didn't feel to bad felt like I done too many sit ups but the gas pain got easier the more I walked about. I had regular visits from nurses and Dr dogam through the day and night. I had the dietician jenny wonderful lady came and talked to me about my fluids/nutrition Once I was discharged to the hotel I had transfers waiting outside to take me to airport. From start to finish excellent service 5* to everyone.

I had a gastric sleeve in April 2024. It’s now April 2025 and I’ve lost 8 stone. The booking process was seamless, Karem who I dealt with was amazing, very helpful and knowledgeable, always available. I was picked up at the airport in a luxury vehicle and the driver was lovely, as soon as I arrived at the hospital (around 6pm on a Friday night) I had all of my pre-op checks. The hospital was state of the art, like a 5* hotel, immaculately clean and the staff are just incredible. So kind and attentive. The surgery went well and the after care was amazing. You would never ever get care like this in the UK, the private room was lovely and the en-suite was very nice. The hotel was even better, out of this world. The care I received was second to none, and I had nothing but support for months and months after my surgery, from my surgeons team and my dietician. I’m now about to book more surgery with the same team as I was so impressed with the service and care. Honestly, I cannot rave about Dr Dogan enough, him and his team are absolutely first class.

I had an outstanding experience with Dr. Mahmut Duran and his team. From the very first contact, he impressed me with his expertise, taking the time to answer every single question in great detail—without ever pushing for a commitment. He provided me with all the necessary information to make a confident decision about my Gastric surgery, leaving me with minimal concerns.

The entire process—from pickup, admission, pre-surgery evaluations (GP, lung specialist, psychiatrist, dietitian, and Dr. Duran himself), the surgery, and post-operative care—was handled flawlessly. The clinic ensures the highest standards, with regular check-ups every 1-2 hours (oxygen levels, blood pressure, temperature), daily blood tests, and a smooth recovery process in comfortable, well-designed rooms, even with WiFi.

Most of the staff spoke basic English, and for any language barriers, they were well-equipped with translation apps, always going the extra mile to assist. Dr. Duran is a truly caring physician who even checks on his patients on his days off. He is deeply passionate about his work and makes a real difference in people’s lives—always prioritizing their health and well-being.

I consider myself extremely lucky and grateful to have been referred to Dr. Mahmut Duran and his clinic. Highly recommended!

I am 6 days post op and returned back to the UK 2 days ago. I had read some reviews prior to going which were a little worrisome regarding pain and absence of support from the team after the op and also the language barrier. I was therefore prepared for what might come. From landing in Istanbul to arriving at the hospital, the preparation thereafter, and prior to the op were of a very professional standard. Both me and my companion were treated amazingly, with respect and absolute dignity. The standard of pre - op care went above and beyond and when it was time for the op, I was relaxed and in a state of peace and calm. It took just over an hour for the procedure and within two hours I was able to walk about the ward with little support. I have had little to no pain, and only took two painkillers from the nurse the day after the surgery but I did not request them. I have taken nothing since. I have had no reflux, no wind and no nausea. My only concern was of my own making because I never used the toilet before flying out and I became constipated. This was soon remedied by Eda who sent an enema to the hotel as soon as I asked. The whole team of medical staff, the nursing support - all too many to mention, were absolutely amazing. They even encouraged my lousy attempts at their language without laughing too much. I am sorry I did not do this sooner, but I am so glad I did and my research and decision to go with Dr Dogan and his team were the best decision of them all.

I was recommended Dr Mahmut Dogan and team by family members. Still hesitant coming from Australia to a foreign country for a big procedure however from the very beginning liaising with the coordinator Kerem was so easy, comfortable and informative. The entire process from start to getting to Türkiye was so fast and went smoothly. I am currently 4 days post op and feel amazing. My husband as my support person and I were cared for so well by the entire team from transfers to hotel and hospital stays as well as the actual procedure. The nursing staff at the hospital were so lovely and it has been super easy to communicate with everyone as some speak english and others are well into using google translate. Dr Dogan was very caring with his approach right up to discharge. Jenny is very supportive explaining everything step by step and is only a message away when I need to know something. All in all I cannot fault the team one bit. I can’t believe I had surgery in Türkiye but I would 100% do it again without a second thought!!!

So landing in Turkey I was picked up at the airport, taken straight to the hospital and through administration with the nurse every step of the way with me,

Yes not all the nurses could speak English and yeah some were quite abrupt with me, but that didn't tarnish my experience!

I was in alot of pain the next day but I'd just had surgery, so obviously it was gonna be a little nippy ha ha.

Now months and months later, I'm happier, healthier, fitter.

(Won't lie guys and girls, the new nookie life is better than when I was a teenager and I'm 44 lol)

I've seen some people post bad reviews with warnings and all I can say is, everyone will have different experiences so don't go expecting to have an identical time to me or anyone else! Everyone is different.

Personally I have had and I am having a great experience!

So good in fact that 3 months after my surgery I went back with my partner and she got the same operation! We are both healthier and happier!

My review keeps getting deleted (strange) perhaps because it’s not 100% positive and they can’t handle that. Well, that’s honesty for you!

I had my gastric bypass 18 days ago with doctor Dogan. Whilst i felt completely safe in his hands, my experience wasn’t the best. The surgery went well.. however the pain i experienced immediately after surgery and still now 18 days on.. is unimaginable. It’s not just gas pain, it’s incision pain and i’m still waiting for it to ease. I also have terrible acid reflux, which doctor dogan did tell me would disappear immediately after surgery (not been the case for me)

The nurses in istanbul, do not speak english. You will need to use google translate, and not all of us want to do that when we’re in so much pain. They come into your room at night and administer all kinds of things through the IV that you have no idea what they are due to the language barrier. They’re very rough and i have the bruises all over me to show for it.

Jenny, as nice as she is, is all about the social media side of things, the glam and the glitz! her english is quite good, but since my surgery, and communicating on what’s app only, the advice she’s given, has been questioned by my doctor here in the UK.

Overall, i wish id had my surgery done in the UK, mainly for peace of mind more than anything. i am extremely traumatised and in a lot of pain and discomfort.
