I got my gastric sleeve surgery done. I was nervous about the whole idea of travelling from Australia to different country by myself and getting surgery done but I have to say it was such an easy and amazing experience with Dr Mahmut and his team Kerem and Mary were really good , had smooth check-in into hospital and hotel , they got all my tests done in couple of hours after my check-in . Kerem even updated my husband about how my surgery went. The dietitian Jenny she was wonderful not only she explained me about my supplements and meds and my diet throughout the process but also now that I’m back home she answers to all my queries about food and vitamins.

I am from Western Australia and have never been to Europe. I saw the ad for Dr Mahmut Dogan on FB and sent an enquiry straight away. My questions and concerns were answered quickly and I booked and was on a plane a few weeks later to have gastric sleeve surgery! Dr Dogan was polite, experienced and hospital staff were very accommodating. Mary looked after my post care and hotel reservation and was lovely to talk to, nothing was too much effort. I am now 6 months post op and have found losing weight, even with severe physical restrictions that caused a lot of my weight gain, has been easy and stress free. 31kgs lost to date with another 19kgs to reach my goal weight. My only regret is not having this surgery sooner! 😊

Ich habe mich mit mehreren Kliniken auseinandergesetzt, doch letztlich bewusst für Dr. Mahmut Doğan entschieden. Von Beginn an wurde ich hervorragend betreut – der Assistent (Furkan) stand mir stets zur Seite, beantwortete geduldig alle Fragen, und ich fühlte mich sicher und gut aufgehoben.

Die gesamte Organisation, von der ersten Kontaktaufnahme bis zur An- und Abreise, verlief reibungslos. Selbst kurzfristige Wünsche, wie die Begleitung durch meinen Mann, wurden unkompliziert ermöglicht. Meine Begeisterung war so groß, dass sich sogar mein Vater dazu entschloss, sich am selben Tag von Dr. Mahmut Doğan operieren zu lassen. Auch hier wurde alles perfekt organisiert.

Nach der Operation waren der Arzt und das Team weiterhin für uns da. Die Betreuung war erstklassig – sowohl während des Klinikaufenthalts als auch danach. Durch den täglichen Kontakt fühlen wir uns stets gut umsorgt.

Just flew back home to Australia and already trying to organise a mummy make over with dr dogan i flew by myself from brisbane, having Kerem to guide me along the way he organised my flights, my hotel stay and my hospital stay. At first i thought it was a bit too good to be true but it honestly was the best experience from the moment i arrived in instandbul i had the information where to go where my driver helped with my bags (scariest part of the trip was the roads over there) i stayed 2 nights in the hotel first (most go straight to hospital then have hospital stay) it was really nice breakfast was a buffet style then second day i was taken to hospital where kerem was waiting to greet me i also got to meet mary both were really lovely and helped with everything i needed i had scans and tests then back to hotel for surgery the following day. Again kerem was out the front waiting to greet me where i was taken in to have the run down and go over my medical history with anaesthesiologist to make sure op went smoothly. I then met dr dogan who was ready to answer all my questions before i knew it i was waking up with nurses tending to my every need and i mean i press the buzzer and within the minute they were by my bed i had a drainage tube in that was the most uncomfortable experience but as he was pulling it out i was told to take a big breath and another member from his team came to hold my hand and support me 2mins later it was out and dr dogan came to check on me every day after aswell as kerem and jenny the dietitian honestly i would recommend dr dogan as his team to anyone even considering having it done its the best this i have done for myself in a long time and would do it 100 times over if i could im so greatful for this wonderful team of people since arriving home they have reached out to see how i am feeling and if i need anything or have any questions.

My sister in law and I arrived in Istanbul Monday for her to have a gastric sleeve surgery with Dr Mahmut Dogan. Before the surgery I was very concerned as there is a lot of bad press in the UK about having surgery abroad. I also worried about being able to speak with the doctor and his team about concerns.
We were met at the airport and taken to our taxi a quick drive to the hospital and we were met by Ada who went through documents and my sister had her bloods taken. Next we were shown to our hospital room which was very clean and tidy. She had blood tests and ecg performed in the room and then we went out for a little walk. The nurses were lovely and very kind and caring. Making sure we had enough pillows and blankets and had water. Tuesday morning we met Mr Dogan with Ada he told us she would have scans xrays and endoscopy and as long as all ok straight to surgery. Mary was our coordinator and was lovely she helped us around the hospital. Answered questions and kept me up to date on my sister when she was in surgery. When my sister came back to the room and was in pain Mary organised pain relief quickly and spoke with the nurses. Although most of the nursing staff speak very little English they are kind caring and respectful and will use google translate to help or ring the coordinator if they need to. They helped my sister to walk and a lovely nurse rubbed her back to get rid of the wind. They cleaned the room regularly and they brought fresh towels everyday. My sister was monitored every couple of hours through the night and even one time I went to ask if she could have more pain relief the nurse was walking into the room with it ready. The staff were so efficient and very good at managing the pain. We saw a doctor before she went to sleep who checked her wounds and they would come at least twice a day as well as to change the dressings.
We saw Jenny the dietician who talked with my sister about everything she needed to know about drinking and medication in the first week. She has been great and so knowledgeable.
Although my experience is not as a patient but as a companion I would say the care and treatment that the whole team provides is incredible and I am so happy with the care my sister received. Thank you all for all your help.

From the moment I spoke with Kerem online I knew I was going to be in great hands. There was no pressure at all unlike other places that called nonstop. Kerem gave me the time to come to a decision on my own. Any questions I needed he answered promptly and basically outlined the entire process from A to Z of everything that will happen when I arrive in Istanbul. Having this information and Kerem every step of the way, made the entire experience faultless.

Why I decided to choose Dr Doğan was through an advert I saw on Insta. After researching a little more and seeing the many inspirational videos and the reviews online from other patients he had also helped, this gave me that prompt to contact for more info.

To this day I continue to be amazed at my results and although still early, I am just so happy I had taken that leap of faith and chose Dr Doğan. He has given me the keys to reclaim my life and a second chance to a greater journey in health, A truly admirable person and such an amazing Doctor with hands of gold. Highly recommended 100% 👍

Had my operation 11/12/24 from Australia must admit before I left had my reservations but kerem put my mind at ease I had nothing to worry about.From when I arrived to the time I left absolutely great no issues at all hospital was great staff above expectations Dr was very informative and knows his stuff would highly recommend this practice to anyone wanting to change there life as it had with me

On December 24, 2024, I had a gastric resection operation in Istanbul, the operation was performed by Dr. Mahmut Dogan, the operation was successful. I was happy with everything, there were no side effects. The doctor's entire team was very attentive and the hospital staff was very polite, and Dr. Mahmut Dogan himself visited me 4 times on the first day after the operation, I was very surprised, since usually doctors themselves visit patients once a day in the morning when they make rounds, and he came as many as 4 times, he is such a great guy and knows his business well, I am grateful to him from the bottom of my heart for his work. If someone is afraid or does not dare to go for such a procedure, I strongly recommend such a qualified doctor Mahmut Dogan. I am personally happy that I went to him because I personally have never felt bad after being discharged from the hospital, no vomiting, no pain, nothing like that.

If anyone is considering Gastric Sleeve surgery without a doubt pick Dr Mahmut and his amazing team. From start to finish you feel like your part of a family, from first message enquiring about surgery to nearly 6 months post op I'm still apart of that amazing family. Vor der Operation habe ich nach vielen Ärzten geschaut, viel recherchiert und habe mich für Dr. Mahmut Doğan entschieden um meine Schlauchmagenoperation durchzuführen. Ende Dezember 2024 wurde dies durchgeführt und ich war und bin zufrieden, eine Herzensempfehlung.
Dr. Mahmut Dogan ist ein sehr freundlicher, sachkundiger und erfahrener Arzt und sein Team einfach nur Top 👍🏻 sehr professionell. Vor allem die drei Frauen Eda Erdal, Tugce Özer(Jenny) und Mihrace Ceylan (Mary) super freundlich, aufmerksam, hilfsbereit, 24/7 für einen da auch nach der Op.Vor der Operation habe ich viel mit Frau Eda Erdal kommuniziert sie hat mir meine Angst genommen, all meine Fragen beantwortet. Das gesamte Team war sehr freundlich und hat meinen Aufenthalt sehr angenehm gemacht und von meinem Mann und Kind (Begleitpersonen) auch.
Sie sind in guten Händen und brauchen keine Angst zu haben. Alles war super vielen lieben Dank nochmal.

5 Star for Dr Doğan but I am giving 4 Star for the overall experience and organisation.

Dr Doğan is lovely, and I can not fault him one bit. I had revision Bypass Surgery, and the surgery was a success.
I opted to stay 10days in total, as I flew over from Australia, and I wanted to recover well, and look around before flying back.

Istanbul is lovely, and the overall experience was amazing.

The team were great, however, I felt Ava was abit misleading with certain things ie: the sleeping arrangements for my husband. I was mislead in regards to my husband having a bed to sleep on with me in the room, however, it was only a small uncomfortable sofa seat. Which after travelling 20hrs, this was unacceptable.

After asking for a bed. It took over 6hrs for this to take place.. we were tired, and the break down in communication was frustrating..

We didn't get a bed until close to 8pm at night.

The meals (for my husband) were not the greatest, and I wouldn't class the hospital or meals as Premium 5 Star as advertised, because they were far from that standard.

The hotel was OK..again, I wouldn't class it as 5 Star as they advertise..

Other than those things. I am very happy with my decision to come to Istanbul to get the surgery, and I'm looking forward to the future ahead.

I already have drastic weightloss in the time we have been here so far.

I am about to fly back to the Sunshine in Perth.

Post-surgery care has been outstanding. Dr. Dogan and his team including Mary, Jenny and others have been incredibly supportive in helping me with recovery. Any questions I had during my healing process were answered promptly, and I was provided with a detailed plan for diet, exercise, and follow-up care. The care did not stop after the surgery – I felt that Dr. Dogan genuinely cared about my long-term success.

Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my experience with Dr. Dogan and his team. The combination of professional expertise, compassionate care, and the excellent facilities in Istanbul made my surgery experience far less stressful than I had anticipated. I am already seeing positive results and feel confident in my decision.

Dr Mahmut Dogan is an amazingly attentive and caring doctor! He is such a wonderfully devoted doctor whom you can tell has such regard for his patients. I was treated by him, I was very nervous. The endoscopy was quick and flawless! He also suggested that I have the surgery soon after as I was quite nervous. He answered every question, ensured he visited daily, and has a wonderful team of professional staff always able to assist whenever needed. I am so unbelievably grateful that I found this doctor, sometimes when you think about going overseas for surgery it seems scary when you hear horror stories but he is truely one of the best doctors around. I had bariatric surgery by Dr Mahmut Doğan in September 2024. From the time I stepped off the plane in Istanbul to the time I got back on the plane to fly home, I could not fault the process. It’s obviously pretty major surgery and I was understandably nervous, but all the pre-op tests that were completed and the interaction with Dr Doğan and his team put me at ease. I remained in hospital for three days in total and I could not fault the aftercare from the nursing staff and Dr Doğan. I felt well cared for and supported and also had advice from the resident dietician. Ten weeks later and I’ve already lost 45lbs. It’s not an easy journey and requires determination and perseverance and a change in attitude to eating and nutrition but it is definitely worth it. I feel that through this surgery my quality and longevity of life will vastly improve. I’d like to thank Dr Doğan and all his staff helping me to get back on a healthy way of life.

I flew from Australia to Istanbul to have a gastric sleeve performed by Dr Dogan.
Right from the booking process to the last day, it was a professional and easy process.
Dr Dogan and his team, namely Kerem the coordinator and Jenny the dietician, are incredibly knowledgeable about the service they’re providing and made me feel comfortable throughout.

When landing in Istanbul, I navigated the airport to find the pick up section where transfers had been organised.
Once at the hospital, I was introduced to everyone and taken for pre-medical assessments (blood tests, ultrasounds, x-ray, endoscopy) where everything was explained to me in detail.
The day of the surgery, everything went smoothly and I was assisted by very capable nursing staff with regular observations and pain relief.
I recovered in hospital for 2 nights and during this time met with Jenny. Jenny is as knowledgeable and professional as she is beautiful. She was very helpful in teaching me my new diet and was able to answer any and all diet related concerns I’ve had.
After leaving hospital, I spent 2 nights at the hotel recovering before being assisted with transfers back to the airport to come home.

I cannot recommend Dr Dogan and his team highly enough.

Our experience was absolutely seamless from start to finish. From the moment we arrived at the airport, everything was handled with incredible efficiency. The transportation to the hospital was smooth, and we were welcomed by a wonderfully professional and attentive staff who made us feel comfortable and at ease right away.

One standout aspect was the personalized attention we received. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we were well-informed and comfortable every step of the way. Communication was clear, and there was never a moment where we felt unsure or unsupported.

I recently had an operation with Dr. Mahmud Dogan. I am very satisfied with his work. He is a very good doctor, attentive. He has golden hands!!!!!! I also want to thank the hospital staff!!!
