Expressunlocks - Complete Scammers

Well now, Expressunlocks eventually removed my order from their website, blocked me from their chat format as well as refusing to any my direct email queries. They kept my money with my final words ensuring their deceit will be posted widely over the network. Expressunlocks is a complete scam with Scotland Yard about to receive all their message traffic and related receipts. Do not trust these people - complete scammers!!!

Total scam website

Total scam website! They will do a bait and switch and say it costs 28 bucks to unlock but then that’s just a check fee which clearly you can check yourself for free your IMEI. So the actual fee is 68 more dollars…. They lie and say it takes 30 mins and they have fake reviews but it takes weeks even months. Then after you get scammed for the 68 bucks they say it’s a total of 178 more making the total almost 300 bucks altogether! Like I told the agent if you guys have to lie and dance around your wording to make a person believe one thing only to do another then clearly it’s a scam. Oh but it’s all written in our terms because you know companies scam people all the time so you have to read the terms first. Regardless what they say it’s all bullshit and they promise you a refund by a credit note which is not a refund cause why would u use a credit on a phone that didn’t work the first time! It’s like they are playing the system to keep your money! There is a right way to do business and a wrong way! They are clearly doing it the wrong way but look into class action and sign up and after enough people report then we can legally make a change. No wonder they accept crypto for payment! That should have been the first red flag!!! Oh and if you cause them too much trouble they will submit you phone to be blacklisted! It’s just white collar criminals! Be warned they are a total scam site!!!

To clarify a few points from our terms:
- “2.1 It is not possible to cancel your order once it is paid for.” and “7.3 ‘Pre-orders’ … are not covered by our money back guarantee. We perform a variety of checks…”
- Our Refund Policy states an “Incorrect Unlocking Code: If, having worked with our technician … and we cannot get the code to work, you'll be refunded.”
- We only blacklist an IMEI in cases of fraud/stolen-card disputes (“13.7 In case of a dispute arising from the use of a stolen credit card, we will assume the device is also stolen and proceed with an immediate blacklisting of the IMEI”).

I know that’s frustrating — please contact Live Support with your IMEI/order and I’ll personally escalate and review your case ASAP.

From what you describe it sounds like separate charges for eligibility/submission and then the unlock or an upgrade. Our Terms explain that “It is not possible to cancel your order once it is paid for. Pre-orders, eligibility check, and unlocking costs are incurred immediately upon placing your order,” and “‘Pre-orders’ also referred to as ‘Eligibility Checks’ are not covered by our money back guarantee.” Also: “By clicking Credit/Debit Payment you wish for the order to be commenced immediately.”

I can look into this and explain each charge, but you haven’t supplied your IMEI or order reference — that’s required to find your order. Without it we can’t address your specific concerns. I was skeptical about using this…

I was skeptical about using this service because of the pricing and I was not sure it would work. I went with it and my phone was successfully unlocked from a corporate account promptly. The phone
Had no balance or block but it was on a corporate account I no longer had access to through Verizon directly. Nevertheless, it worked and saved a huge headache. Thank you.

I started the unlock process with…

I started the unlock process with Expressunlocks as the price was competative. However that was an intial price for the start checks, there was then a much higher price for the actual unlocking process that was going to take 4 days. I need the phone unlocking before then so did it myself through EE in minuetes. When i contacted Expressunlock to stop the process and refund the second amount of money, the initial amount is not refundable, I had a garbbled email back and no refund. Today, 5 days later, i have recieved the unlocking codes. Not good.

A couple of important points from our terms:
- “It is not possible to cancel your order once it is paid for.” (T&C 2.1)
- Refund Policy: “Already Unlocked phones: No refund if you order an unlock for an already unlocked phone.”

Because you had EE unlock the phone before our process completed, that normally makes the order ineligible for a refund. If you want us to investigate further (for example to see why you still received codes), send the IMEI or contact Live Support and we’ll review the order and explain the options.

Expressunlock never did the job ongoing dispute

Expressunlock took my money and said it would take up to 5 days and would probably be allot less than 5 days , after 5 days they then said they wanted another 3 so I told them I was taking the phone to a shop as they had exceeded the 5 days , the shop did it in 18 hrs , I reported them to the bank to get my money back and this is there response to me

It's important to understand that each dispute incurs a £34.80 fee on our end, in addition to any unlocking fees that may have been returned by your bank. As a result there is now an outstanding unlocking balance due.

Unfortunately if the balance is not paid, we will have to blacklist the device in order to recoup our losses from the manufacturer, who we had to pay for your unlock.

We have given you a 7 day grace period to pay the balance, after which on the Wed 22nd Oct 2025 we will unfortunately have to remove the unlock and blacklist your phone. Please note that blacklisting a device is irreversible and will mean it will not work on any network, including the original one.

iPhone 13 Max Pro unlocked after $403

My iPhone 13 Max Pro was SIM locked by T-mobile. Expressunlocks charged me $403 to unlock it. Initially on Wed 24 Sep 2025, 18:00 EST, I paid Eligibility Check Payment received: $24.99. On Wed 24 Sep 2025, 18:10 EST, Standard Service Unlocking Payment received: $54.00. On Thu 25 Sep 2025, 06:02 EST, Unfortunately your IMEI has been rejected on Standard Service, due to being either In Contract, Financed, No Active Line, or Outstanding Bills, and requires T-Mobile USA Premium Service which costed me another $174. They said 'The great news is that we can still unlock your device using our Premium Service, which is faster, fully guaranteed, and bypasses most of the restrictions placed on Standard unlocks.' before charging me $174. I thought now finally it will be unlocked.
On Tue 30 Sep 2025, 14:04 EST, they said Your iPhone 13 Pro Max Needs a Higher Tier Service. Thank you for submitting your device for unlocking via our Premium Service. Unfortunately, the request has been rejected, as your phone requires a more expensive unlocking method.

This advanced service is 100% guaranteed to unlock your device within 7 days – or you will receive a full refund directly to your card (not a credit note). I had to pay another $150. So far I have paid $403.

I just forgot about this unlock request and than I get this email

Attention Arnaque !
J'ai acheté un iphone reconditionné et qui se trouve être simlocké sur un réseau US.
Le site expressunlocks vous fait miroiter un déblocage rapide et vous demande un 1er paiement de 28,99€ pour vérifier l'éligibilité au déblocage. Très vite, il est précisé qu'un second paiement de 44€ est nécessaire pour le déblocage.
Désespéré, et avec l'envie d'y croire, on paie. On vous indique un délai de 7 jours maximum, mais moins de 24h après, on vous indique que c'est plus compliqué que cela, et que l'opérateur US refuse, mais heureusement, expressunlocks a négocié un déblocage premium de 157€, soit un papiement supplémentaire de 79 €.
Evidemment, l'expérience s'arrête pour moi ici, l'ironie est qu'ils m'indiquent que l'opérateur a rejeté la demande de déblocage alors que j'ai fait ma demande un dimanche dans la nuit et que les bureaux de l'opérateur n'ont toujours pas ouvert le lundi matin quand ils m'informent du prétendu refus de l'opérateur.
Le site refuse de me rembourser et ne m'envoie que des réponses automatiques toutes faites lorsque je demande un remboursement ou des explications.
NE VOUS FAITES PAS AVOIR NON PLUS.
Je vais pour ma part demander l'échange auprès de mon vendeur de téléphone reconditionné et faire jouer la garantie légale de conformité.

Got there but longer and more costly than I wanted...

Service took longer than expected and initial price increased to actually get the code. Cost £15 then £30 so would have been cheaper to go to local shop. Started the process so had to finish though otherwise money wasted. Did get the code about 10hours after process started though.
