I signed a consumer proposal with…
I signed a consumer proposal with Farber. I was told that my student loan couldn't be part of the consumer proposal however it was. I paid my student loan than I paid Farber and they kept a thousand dollars from the overpayment. That's crazy. I paid my student loan in full and Farber is getting the thousand dollars from the overpayment. They claim that its going back to the creditors but that debt was already paid. Very bad business Farber. This people portray good business but let's be real. Its fraud and it does not help your credit report!!!

In a consumer proposal, all debts must be declared and your payments go into a single pool that’s distributed among creditors based on the agreed terms. Even if a debt like a student loan is paid outside the proposal, your total payment amount does not change, and that creditor’s share is redistributed to the remaining creditors as required by law. This can feel like an overpayment, but no funds are kept by Farber or applied at our discretion.
