Following what was a traumatic experience with my new car, which was hit by another just days after delivery, repair was arranged by my insurance company with Fix Auto. Throughout the whole process I was kept fully informed of progress by a member of staff, Kerri, even when there was a delay with parts delivery because of the bank holiday. This kind of customer service is sadly lacking these days but Fix Auto treat the customer as a priority. Well done!

Excellent and swift service. Car was quickly assessed for damage on the spot and booked in for the work soon after. On the day the courtesy car was ready and waiting. Work done to a high standard and car valeted. Most of all, a friendly and helpful service with someone available on the office number for updates when needed. I recently used AutoFix for bodywork repairs and had a largely positive experience regarding the craftsmanship, though I have significant concerns regarding their vehicle security protocols.
The Pros:
The entire logistical process was seamless. They provided a door-to-door service, picking up my vehicle and dropping off a courtesy car, then reversing the process eleven days later once the repairs were complete. The staff members were polite, helpful, and ensured everything went according to plan.
As for the repair itself, the repairs to the bodywork are nearly invisible. The only minor blemish is a small piece of debris caught under the door edge protection tape, which creates a slight bubble, but otherwise, the finish is excellent.
The Cons:
Unfortunately, the presentation of the car upon return was disappointing. It was returned covered in a thick layer of dust—enough that I could write my name in it. Additionally, there were lines of cream-colored polishing paste left along the door edge protection tape on two doors, which I had to carefully buff off myself.
Major Security Concern: Tracker Deactivation
The most concerning aspect of the service is a garage policy that I was not informed of beforehand: drivers disable factory-installed trackers during transit and throughout the repair period.
I only discovered this because my manufacturer’s app kept alerting me to open and unlocked doors. Upon checking the app to turn off notifications, I realized the GPS location still showed the car parked at my house, despite it being at the workshop several miles away. The garage disables the tracker before driving the car away and does not reactivate it until the car is returned to the owner.
I can find no legitimate reason why a repair center would need to disable a customer's security tracker, especially while employees are going to be driving it.
Final Verdict:
While the repair quality is high, the lack of transparency regarding the tracker is suspicious. If you choose to use AutoFix, I strongly recommend:
1. Recording your mileage accurately before pick-up.
2. Placing a hidden secondary tracker (like an AirTag) in the vehicle.
3. Confirming their security policies in writing.
It is a shame that a "painless" service was overshadowed by such an unusual and unexplained privacy policy.
