Best umbrella company
I was new to working under an umbrella company and felt like a deer in the headlights! Focused was the only umbrella company (out of all the ones I contacted) that took time to answer all my questions and at the same time did not make me feel pressured to go with them. They were also super patient when I asked them to 'dumb down' the answers to my questions so I could fully understand everything including costs, fees, take home pay etc before I made a decision. Once I signed up with them it was always a positive experience. If I ever had questions someone was always available and I received excellent service every time. I would highly recommend them and if I ever go through an umbrella company again I will definitely go back to them.

Expenses Nightmare
When I first joined this company, I was genuinely impressed. Their website was slick, easy to use, and raising expense claims felt effortless. I was so impressed, in fact, that I recommended them to a colleague - a decision I now deeply regret.
What followed was nothing short of frustrating. They made it almost impossible for my colleague to process simple meal expenses, rejecting claims for items that had already been approved in advance.
Recently, I’ve found myself facing the same nonsense - having legitimate evening meal claims questioned despite being well within my daily allowance and providing full documentation.
This isn’t about fair checks and balances - it feels like they’re more concerned with covering themselves against a potential HMRC audit than supporting honest customers.
If you’re looking for a smooth, hassle-free expenses system, avoid this company. What starts out looking good quickly turns into a bureaucratic headache.
