Zero care for peoples time, Zero communication, Zero customer service
I made an appointment for Aug, the engineer did not show and did not bother to let me know.
Made a 2nd appointment for Sep and confirmed 2 days before and the engineer did not turn up and did not let me know again.
A 3rd appointment was offered for October!
Despite knowing the urgency due to a deadline, no one in any of the teams made any effort to check that a engineer would arrived as promised or to check in with me.

GasElec are a great team. Alfie is very efficient and always so friendly. Excellent at resolving enquiries, nothing is ever too much trouble. Would highly recommend using GasElec! :)

We were made to use them in 2020
They were appointed through the agency that manages my property. So they fleeced us. Among the many fleecing activities was charging £500 to move an electrical socket.
Do not use them.

From the initial visit to replace the gas boiler to being fitted and fully operational the service has been exemplary and the professionalism of the highest standard. The expertise of the Senior Engineer instilled confidence. No short cuts. No compromise. Much respect shown to the property and all residue waste taken away. I would affirm that this work could not have been done better by anyone. Relationships were open and warm. I look forward to his return to do the annual service!!
Rectified quickly - speedy resposnses
A bit of back and forth regarding an EICR attendance, but overall happy with their prompt resolutions. Will happily keep using the service.
Not suitable for vulnerable people, never use anyone who refuse to do trivial 'remedials'
Careless and far too keen on squeezing false extra work. Dismissive attitude when queried. Failed to properly identify the type of supply - it has standard domestic supply (off pole in garden which actually have to walk past to get to property - so basic an error that every engineer should notice without even looking) - insisted it was an industrial 3PH supply (impossible). Dangerously failed to identify socket too close to kitchen sink wet zone. Refused to fix a trivial fault ('remedials' they call these) - so instead of 1 min fix whilst on site they insisted on repeat visit @ £180. Stated that system was seriously overloaded with no evidence whatsoever (nearly double of the maximum rating of the main service fuse - impossible). This apparently required £000s of upgrades. Subsequently the electricity supplier and another electrician described this as complete nonsense (using less than 60%).
Gary McGowan - excellent boiler and gas services
Gary McGowan came out to service our boiler and complete a Gas Safety certificate. He was incredibly accommodating with our complicated schedule, friendly and helpful! I would thoroughly recommend Gas Elec based on the brilliant service we received from Gary.
Absolutely fab
Absolutely fab. Boiler dial would not move. Called gas elec. first young lady lovely. Passed me through to engineering who were lovely yet again. Had engineer out within a couple of hours. Took a while to sort but done. Engineer was lovely. Explained what he was doing and why. And calling back to check everything ok in a few days. I cannot fault the company for polite and wonderful service. Thank you very much.
I ordered my EICR certificate test…
I ordered my EICR certificate test through Makeurmove agency, who then used gas elec company to come run the test for me.
Prior to the visit I was sent a link with an email/telephone number to book the test.
I booked my test on the phone followed by a confirmation text with date and time.
On the day for the visit, the engineer Omar gave me a call to inform me that he was on his way.
Shortly after the call he was on location ready to do his job, he introduce himself with ID shown and explained his purpose of the visit.
After and an hour and half he did all the necessary test then explain the next step to me. Test outcome was satisfied with reports sent to his company who will then send the certificate to Makeurmove.
In summary everything went perfectly as expected. I will definitely work with this company again should the need arise.

The engineer Gary was efficient and polite. Lovely to have as a work person in my home and his care and attention as he installed a new radiator, pump, valve and timer was exemplary. Thank you.

very poor customer service. made booking a safety check a nightmare. inflexible days and time slots. avoid.
Not reliable and poor customer service response times/ communication
I ordered a boiler service through openrent and this company was supposed to carry it out. They did not do it and did not contact me regarding any issues they might have had with this. There was also no suitable response - so I emailed them after 10 days to which they replied that the engineer was unable to carry it out. This left me without a safety certificate/ boiler service for more than a month. Useless customer service. Not worth the money you pay and not reliable. Luckily I got a full refund from openrent.

I booked my job through Openrent, and they assigned it to Gas-Elec Group. An engineer named Omar Abdi visited my property, and I was very impressed with the service. Gas-Elec (Omar Abdi) provided excellent customer service, and the job was completed on time. Omar was knowledgeable, efficient, and highly professional in his work. He carried out all the necessary checks and took the time to explain why each one was important. I highly recommend Gas-Elec (Omar) for any electrical work and EICR TEST. But today he went above and beyond bless him!
My kitchen sink had blocked & flooded so he was straight under my sink, found the problem & cleared it all for me.

Hi having worked for gas-elec for 3years all i can say that as one of the gas engineers i could not have worked for a better company.
From introdution of how the company works and what they expect is first class and backup was always very good.
the staff were always polite to myself and if any customer had a problem i would put them in touch with right person to deal with.
When dealing with customers i was always professional and polite and found that this helped the company in a lot of ways,
As i said this is the best gas company that i worked for and all the fantastic staff as well who were all great..
just to say thanks again and i will enjoy my retirement but will miss you all so much.
P.S Highly recommend any gas engineers looking for a good company to work for.

Terrible service - unresponsive and inefficient
I have previously had really good experiences with Gas-Elec and found them to be responsive and efficient. I’m not sure what has happened over the last year but service has gone downhill. When I had my gas safety certificate and other checks done for my property, there was radio silence following the appointment. I received no paperwork and had to chase multiple times before receiving the documentation after 2 weeks, with no explanation offered for the extended delay.
Since then, I have tried multiple times to pay the invoice by phoning the accounts team. Each time I am placed on hold for 5 minutes before finally being put through to voicemail. I have left messages via voicemail and email to customer services. Customer services advised that someone would contact me but it has been over two weeks and still no callback.
Despite this, they have still sent me a reminder of my outstanding invoice. If they want payment, they will need to contact me as I have wasted enough time chasing them. Terrible service.
