Poor customer service
Our composite door lock had a problem locking. As I needed to secure our home, I looked online and found GB DIY STORE, which offers an ERA 45mm middle gearbox with next-day tracking service if you place an order before 3.00. As it was a fair price, I placed an order. [ order number 302949 ] As GB DIY STORE had not sent me a tracking number by the next day, I sent an email to GB DIY STORE requesting a tracking number. I received an email back with the tracking number. Also, sorry for not letting you know, the order did arrive on time in the afternoon.
That afternoon, I removed the broken gearbox and tried to replace it with the replacement gearbox, but found it would not fit because one of the connecting studs was defective.
The next morning, I sent an email to GB DIY STORE with photos of the defective gearbox and completed their online form requesting a replacement gearbox as per their company policy.
I received no reply or communication that day, so the next day I sent another email requesting a replacement gearbox: again, no reply or communication.
I then sent a 3rd email, this time requesting a refund for the defective gearbox as per GB DIY STORE policy, again, no reply or communication.
After five days of no communication from GB DIY STORE, I contacted the Payment System used for my payment for help. Their Resolution Centre opened a Dispute case, looked at the information I sent them, and refunded me in full.
In writing this review, I hope GB DIY STORE can change the way it treats its customers.

This is not the first time I’ve purchased from GB DIY and as before the items arrived quickly and just as described, their website makes it easy to buy the correct handle for your door, there are several different types, big help. I would recommend this store

Ordered an Avocet Roto uPVC Door Handle 92pz 162mm Universal Replacement as my front door handle does not appear to be standard. Worked fine.

I bought replacement door handles for composite doors in May 2025. The service was excellent and the handles arrived pretty promptly and were just what I was looking for.

What was more impressive is how the company responded when I had a problem with one of the handles in February 2026. I emailed them a photo and they emailed right back saying they would send a replacement. It arrived the very next morning by Royal Mail tracked delivery. I think that is really first class.

It’s very easy to order the wrong replacement handle for a Upvc door. BUT GB DIY Store made it easy to get it right first time. Good price, swiftly despatched Thankyou!

Excellent service

This really is a fantastic store. I had a couple of problems (neither their fault) and they helped me immediately and were highly professional and patient. I really can't praise them highly enough.
