Overall not bad
Had the platinum plan for a few years, Beginning of the year I had a service, the engineer noticed a leak and marked it up as urgent, I had to chase them up 6 weeks later about this. But credit where credit is due, the lady on the phone very helpful, organised an engineer within 3 days with the correct parts and on the day the engineer rang when he was on the way, turned up when said and was a very pleasant guy, cleaned up after himself and did a good job.
Overall a good company, apart from chasing up an “urgent” repair which by the time it was sorted had damaged 2 carpets.
Contract worthless
We have had the “platinum service” contract with this company for 5 years. It is not worth the paper its written on. The service is slow and incompetent. Most problems have resulted in several visits as the faults are not identified or addressed correctly. We had no heating for several months while they messed about with various solutions. Eventually we had to replace the radiator. It’s Christmas Eve we have had no hot water for a week. We had a visit last Thursday the problem was apparently the switch which was fixed but no hot water, a visit yesterday the problem was the thermostat which was replaced still no hot water . We can’t have a visit today as they are “not a same day service” So we have paid £300 to a company who have failed to fix the problem twice and left us with no hot water for Christmas. We would have dropped the contract years ago but to date haven’t found another company that deals with pulsacoil and dread to think what service we would get from them if this is described as platinum. In our opinion they only survive as a company as they have a virtual monopoly.

There is something fundamentally wrong…
There is something fundamentally wrong with this firm. I have made several calls over the last two weeks to buy a new boiler. No one calls back. They promise to call back but they don’t. They assure me they’ll email a quote but they don’t. I have £2,000 on the table to buy a boiler, yet they are not the least bit interested. You couldn’t make it up!
Update: one week on and still no callback or email.

Rude and disingenuous support team...
We took out a platinum care package in 2017 which was to include an onsite health check. They got in touch in November 2017 to give us a visit date in December. Unfortunately we weren't going to be there that date. They told us we would receive a new date in the new year.
By June 2018 we had received no response so I called them. They just said that the next time someone was in our area they would call.
At the end of August 2018 we received a renewal notice although we still haven't had a health check from the previous year.
I called them again to tell them I hadn't had the health check yet and the person who answered was very unhelpful and just said she would pass it on to the relevant team.
One thing which was particularly annoying under the circumstances is that the renewal letter no longer offered the basic package, only the platinum which includes a health check or a platinum plus. When quizzed about this she told me that the basic package was available still but is not offered when you are on the platinum package. I think this is REALLY BAD form and the main reason I give them a one star review. Again, the person who answered was rude and none sympathetic to my complaint that having not received a health check from last year then why would I pay for another one this year.
Surely the renewal notice should outline all (three) options available.
The review is specifically for Gledhill Response who call themselves the Gledhill Repair Specialists.

Gledhill PlusaCoil failed after light…
Gledhill PlusaCoil failed after light use for not much over a year. The fix was admittedly simple but Gledhill charged a ‘fixed’ £320 for the repair. Not impressed either with the failure or the high and inflexible repair cost.
Excellent company
Excellent company. Website and forum are full of information which helps in relation to the PulsaCoil 2000 water heater.
