I rented a property for two years with Golding in Liverpool and I can honestly say it was a terrible experience. Whenever I had an issue they would either ignore or be extremely condescending towards me. They treated me with absolute disrespect and I would avoid this estate agents at all costs! We had to live with rats in our garden for a year! I could list several examples but I think the other reviews do this nicely enough!

Would never ever recommend. The house was filthy when we moved in and hadn’t been touched since the last tenants. We were left with no heating in the winter, broken back doors in a high crime area for 4 months, mould, no working fire doors or fire alarms, scuffed and dirty walls since move in, leaks, broken oven outlet and more. (all that was reported and never attended to). our many calls and emails did not solve anything. we are now left with no deposit returned for their own faults.

james i rented fom this terible firm in january 2007 and i was in a small studio flat for 10 depresing years the staff were orible to me and very arigent to and as time went on it just got worse then i moved to another one of there propetys by anfield and the landlord was very bad i was there for 5 years and all the drug dealing in the arier was very bad do not i repeat do not rent from this firm i was held by gangs who got in my flat and thay targeted the wrong one the landlord evicted me for know reason and he was putting anyone in the flat upstirs i have a more better place now and i can get on with my life and sleep better at night james iwill never i repeat never go with letting agents again in my life

Do not rent of these so call estate agents. There all about money. Never do any work on the property. And try everything to keep your deposit when you leave.

Had to get the property ombudsman and Liverpool City Council involved for problems during my tenancy from July 2022-October 2023. Windows continually leaked, radiator didn’t work and left me without a bathroom floor for over a week.
Dreadful conditions and customer service.

Absolutely terrible. Save your time, sanity and mind by steering clear. AS FAR AWAY AS POSSIBLE. Cannot put into words how unorganised and unprofessional these so called agents are. Couldn’t home a squirrel if they tried

Staff / agents are rude.

God forbid you ask them a question.

I enquired regarding the balance due for my final month's rent, to be met with a rude and inappropriate response of "refer to your tenancy agreement".

I had to reiterate my enquiry twice to get a full and proper answer from Louisa Roper

I advised her that the final months rent would be paid on the final working day of the month, in line with my salary payments and as has been the case for the entirety of the tenancy.

On the back of this, I was inundated with further excessive emails from Louisa Roper exclaiming that the rent was overdue - these emails even continued despite the rents having already been paid.

I advised them that the rent was paid and to only reach out if it was necessary, this was met once again by even further excessive emailing from Louisa Roper advising "it's her job to chase me".

DESPITE THE FINAL MONTHS HAVING RENT ALREADY BEING PAID!

I escalated this by way of a formal complaint - the response that that they agree the emailing was excessive and that further training would be provided for the individual, it seems these people have had no training in customer service in the first place.

Golding estates are an absolute joke of a company and their attempt of communicating basic answers to basic enquiries leaves a lot to be desired.

If you can rent elsewhere I would recommend that's exactly what to do.

i don’t usually write reviews but honestly has to be the worst estate agents I’ve had to deal with. I asked them to advertise my room 2 months in advance as the property is ranched with spiders and due to a medical condition I have to leave. I left the room in top condition, regularly cleaned it and looked after it, their response was ‘you have to pay £180 for someone else to take the room’ even though I was going to leave the room in 2 months anyway. I gave them permission to go in and take pictures of the room and allowed viewings. Customer service is terrible you can never get hold of them. If you’re looking to let your property use kings property Lettings instead, they’re a bit more expensive but service is so much better.

Absolutely awful letting agent for anyone! Treated like students, but were were working professionals. Took my own move in photos and videos and kept them safe. Took my own move out videos and photos and kept them safe. And thank god I had, because despite leaving my studio way cleaner than the day I moved in, Goldings tried to say it needed a further £100 worth of cleaning and withheld that amount from my escrow deposit. I ended up going through The DPS scheme that offers a free adjudication scheme and lo and behold they saw my evidence and saw right though Goldings poor attempt to screw me for more money. I had my full refund sent and they got nothing awarded from the dispute.
If you are with Goldings, then keep a record of every single contact you have with them, make a log. Keep every single photo of issues and report them in a timely manner. Keep every single email. You will need them when you go to move out. If you have mould, Goldings somehow think it’s acceptable to add that to move out reports saying “DAMAGE” despite it being a landlord responsibility to address. They will then ask for cleaning costs. It’s just not on and a really very poor show. If you can rent from other letting agents, then do so, but if you can’t then make sure you are absolutely keeping good accurate records and photos and clean your place within an inch of your life on exit or you’ll never see your deposit escrow funds ever again. Nice as pie to you when you are doing viewings with them to take on a new tenancy , once you vacate your property they will not even talk to you about your deposit or listen to any reasoning. The DPS at least saw sense!

The agent has no car for clients, I booked for a viewings I ringed them to notify them that I’m lost and they agent just drove off and asked me to rebook after I took a day off for viewings.
I was like 2 mins away but she never cared to ask me about my where about or went extra mile for a client….. this is the worst experience I’ve ever seen in UK. I’m so disappointed

They take 20 days for referencing and after that they delayed the move in date for 2 weeks, and when I asked to cancel and get my deposit back , I didn't get a response. And when I call them and explain my situation they are keep lying and say they will call me back and get my refund, and now when i call them they refuse to refund me.

Create fictitious problems to extort money, renters and neighbouring houses. Stay well clear

i asked for the void report on my place full of has come out still has not got it i have had excuses no action i still want it but i don,t think the report is there all placesshould be checked this one has,nt i have asked on several times still nothing

If I could give below zero, I would. Golding Estates and in particular one of the directors Brian Price are unprofessional and cannot be trusted at all. Avoid any dealings with this company or director at all costs.
This director is also linked with other companies, so please be aware. To avoid any bad experience such as I have please be aware that he is also director of a further 18 companies, although a few of them may have been dissolved for obvious reasons.
There are many words to describe such a company/person, thief/liar/scoundrel. These are but a few words.

I have been working with Golding Estates to rent a few houses out in Liverpool for a couple of years now and have been well looked after by Lauren who is professional and good at letting my properties out to suitable groups. I have found the team in the office including Sadie and Katherine to be helpful.

Been living on a new estate for over 3 years, I am a shared owner, I have contacted customer service a dozen times and put complaints with photos but nothing gets done, tried to call the housing manager left voicemails/ emails still no reply and spoken to a few customer service staff. My issues are still not resolved and no reply after 3 months!! Have emails and photos to prove.. any ideas anyone on how to escalate this higher !??

Took months to fix damp in my room even though the conditions were making me very ill and they were aware of this. They don't respond to emails and leave problems such as wifi not working unfixed. Go with a different company!!

This company has to be the worst estate agency I have ever dealt with. They refuse to respond to emails. They are extremely unprofessional. They speak to you like you are a child and worst of all they try to thieve as much money from you as they can. Anyone who is considering moving in with this agency, go elsewhere. Any problems with the house they will refuse to fix or even acknowledge. They have given us wrong account numbers to pay rent into, left us for months with no boiler, left the house full of holes and rats and then had the cheek to charge us £500+ in cleaning fees from our deposit. We have tried to get in contact to ask for proof/evidence/receipts and we haven't had a response. This company is a complete scam and I seriously hope anyone who reads this thinks twice about renting with them!

We are currently renting with Golding Estates. We have had multiple problems since moving in in August including an overgrown garden, filthy sofas that have not been cleaned, lack of Wi-Fi and a bathroom that is uninhabitable. Contractors are currently doing work on the downstairs bathroom, resulting in carpets being ripped up, no flooring, no shower or toilet and lots of noise. This leaves us with one bathroom between SEVEN students. The heating in numerous rooms has not worked since the day we moved in, resulting in the house being extremely cold, especially over the past few weeks now that temperatures have dropped. Golding have been unprofessional when replying to our multiple emails, resulting in these issues either only just being addressed, or not having been addressed at all.
Inspections on the property are not carried out to the full extent they should. Many electrical objects that are in the house have not been kept up to date with their checks, posing potential risks to us as tenants as well as the contractors working on the house.
I would not recommend letting with Golding at all. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
