The chap that I spoke to recently to book a holiday was so helpful, clear & obviously happy in his job. The booking process is so easy, especially by phone.

Needed to ring Customer Services three times within an hour to be successfully given back answers to three different questions. All three ladies were friendly and very helpful. As a result I booked a holiday that evening, which was straight forward.

Easy to book. We have travelled with Great Rail Journeys many times and have always been satisfied. If there was a problem it was dealt with and sorted without causing the travellers any major disruption. All travel couriers very pleasant and helpful.

It was all done over the phone which I was glad of because I'm not very good on line..it was all booked.. deposit paid with no fuss at all.. Very happy with the helpfulness the lady who dealt with the booking portrayed

Got through quite quickly, I think I spoke to Helen, she was very helpful and I was able to book the dates I wanted.

My telephone call was answered promptly and my booking was handled very efficiently and to my satisfaction.

Inefficient. Didn’t listen to what was said. But at least called back to confirm that they had corrected the error.

I did request a provisional itinerary but have not receive one.

The area is beautiful. The architecture unusual for France/Spain. The pintzos delicious. The tour guide good, although meeting up with coaches was sometimes a bit tenuous but always worked in the end.

It would have been good for more optional tours to be made available. There were too many down days, 3 in 7 days. For people on their own or less intrepid travellers this was difficult. It would have been nice to have a comfortable airy sitting are.

We particularly wanted to book the Edinburgh, the Highlands and Islands tour and wanted a July 2027 departure that fitted in with a Cunard cruise departing in early August. In Australia, the only straightforward option is to book via APT/Travelmarvel that use GRJ and where there is an additional AUD 2,000+ additional cost. Our Australian travel agents tried to arrange an agency agreement with GRJ but this was going to require a 100% payment of the tour costs up front with none of the discount offered on the UK website. Obviously, our agent was not impressed. This contrasts with the experience with Cunard who were happy to transfer a booking made on-board to our agent. The actual booking experience was OK, once I managed to get to the UK pricing rather that the American ones.

Having had to change my original booking from December 2025 to 2026. All the staff I spoke with were very helpful and understanding

The booking process on the phone was very efficient and all the necessary. Information was provided si that i was able to make the correct choice of holiday. I felt very confident with all aspects of the process and would be happy to recommend Great Rail Journeys to friends and colleagues.
