If you want a hassle go to hanger gave them my papers to get shoes and AFOs fixed then later was told papers were not right and were only for shoes and then they were wrong and told would have to have more papers sent to them. I guess HIPPA doesn't apply to them.

Diabetes Shoes…
I was somewhat harsh with my previous review about Hanger Clinic in Starkville. I recant the first review which was written mostly out of frustration. I understand that they only work at the clinic therefore they can't rush the delivery of shoes I was delighted when I finally got them so plus up to Hanger clinic.
Do you research
Do you research, there’s a lot of places that are much better. When calling several places, 6 of them. They all validated the complete mess that Hanger is. Furthermore, I had two people come up to me publicly and tell me that Hanger is utterly sloppy. I should’ve listened from the beginning. This will help, go to indeed.com look at the reviews from employees, yikes.

If your feet ever get bad enough that you need to deal with a prosthetic or orthotics professional please try to save as much energy as you can to run away from this place. I lost two toes to a blood clot 4 years ago and since then I have needed orthotics to help me walk and prevent diabetic ulcers. Recently moving to Southern California I was referred to hanger clinics when I needed new shoes after recovering from a diabetic ulcer. The person referred me to Hanger are no longer friends hahaha that's the kind of crummy job these people did to me. Not only did it take almost two and a half months to get my new orthotics I didn't even wear them for 10 days before a 2-month vacation was cut short because I developed a new diabetic ulcer. You can see from the pictures that I have attached the shoddy job that they did. Please note how my foot bends to the right while the orthotic bends to the left. The orthotic is also two sizes too large for my foot. I have tried to contact hanger about this to no avail. Oh yes by the way the stains on thee orthotic itself is blood from the diabetic ulcer that opened up well I'm the sixth day of my 60-day trip. The one where I had to come home from China because of the infection that was caused from the ulcer. Don't
I highly recommend technician, Jason Ramsey, for Cranial Remolding
I just wanted to acknowledge what a wonderful company Hanger Clinic is and what an amazing technician, Jason Ramsey, is. He worked so well with my son, Kai, who was diagnosed with plagiocephaly at around 5 months old. Not once did Kai cry while Jason was scanning his head or putting on his cranial helmet. Jason uses a "magic tambourine" to get the child's attention while he scans their head. Kai loved the noise it made and wouldn't take his eyes off of it. Jason is very knowledgeable and efficient at his job. I'd highly recommend him to anyone that is in need of cranial remolding for their child. Not to mention, Kai's head shape greatly improved. He no longer has a flat spot on his head.
Hanger clinic has given us terrible…
Hanger clinic has given us terrible customer service! We were getting orthodics for my daughter's feet and the initial appointment went okay, but they weren't very friendly or helpful and contradicted all advice our podiatrist has given us. Even making suggestions for treatment we've already considered but opted out of because of the additional damage it would cause my daughter's feet. He said the podiatrists just want to do surgery because they want the money and it could pay for their new boat.
Then we were supposed to have a 2nd appointment to pick up her orthodics, they called us to reschedule our 2nd appointment because the orthodics were not in yet.... so they rescheduled for another week out. THEN they called to push that appointment back again, another week because the Dr over us had his own Dr's appointment. That week passed and the day we were supposed have her new (3rd attempt) appointment they called us again saying they had not yet called our insurance to verify coverage so we couldn't come pick them up yet. I waited a week and a half to follow up then called back to see if they had contacted our insurance yet only to be told they had not. Today I called again- 2 or 3 days after my last call- and they said they just got approval this morning but I haven't met my deductable so I have to pay $390 out of pocket. I tried to explain my concerns but she wouldn't listen and acted frustrated with me. She said she could have the office manager contact me so I agreed to that. The office manager, Jackie, called me back and for the first time since dealing with Hanger Clinic, I received exceptional customer service. I hope they can work through these hurdles in order to improve and care for their customers.
Needed a knee brace for my son
Needed a knee brace for my son. They said they may not be able to get insurance to approve and the cash price would be $400. 40 minutes later, insurance approved it. But since I haven’t met my deductible yet, I had to pay out of pocket. I was fine with that and expecting it. What I didn’t expect was to be price gouged by this business. The price went from $400 up to $750!! I said forget the insurance, we’ll just pay cash. The front desk lady said that “ethically, I’m not allowed to charge you the cash price now that insurance has approve it”. I immediately walked out and bought the same brace online for $195.
I have a c-leg4
I have a c-leg4. I sent my leg in for service and when I received it back Hanger put the wrong pylon and foot back on when I got it back. I would have never found out if I didn’t seek help from professional. While I was seeing this professional they also pointed out that my leg was at least one inch to short if they would have put the right pylon they would have noticed the right marks on the pylon and it would not have been a inch short for a year and with that came a different foot. How do I know I received my original foot. There are other problems that were found I was using the wrong liner. I have been using and trusting hanger for over eight years. To me if they are making changes on your leg you should be updated on it also. Then when I called hanger the tech told they can use what they want, is the foot I received my original foot no because this foot was not taken off the pylon when it was put back. For professional they should tell you about changes. Honesty helps business go on. But as big is hanger these problems will keep happening.

Hanger clinic employees really appreciate all of the people that they serve. Doesn't matter if you are early or late for an appointment. They put you directly into a room and give you total satisfaction treatment. They treat you with total respect and dignity. They deserve the same in return. Thank you to everyone at hanger clinic keep up the fantastic work.
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
3 HORRIBLE visits to the Wichita, KS location. This last one was the worst. I had a scheduled appointment and they knew I couldn’t walk without my brace and said they could get everything done on the itemized list I gave them. My daughter had to take off work and dropped my brace off 1 1/2 hours early. An hour after they were suppose to be DONE they called me and said there was too much work on the list and they couldn’t get it done that day. They said just leave it and we’ll get to it sometime tomorrow. After a very strong response from me they decided they could get it done but would have to work on it after CLOSING because they “had other customers” and couldn’t work on my brace until after closing. I HAD AN APPOINTMENT! My daughter had to go to Hanger before 5 so she could be in the office whenever they finished. She had to take off work for the afternoon because of Hanger’s negligence and lost her pay.
After more than a week, and multiple attempts on my part, I finally got a call back from the regional manager. After several minutes on the call giving me all of her exudes and she would really talk to them. I had to ask her if she was actually even going to apologize to me and for my daughter losing an afternoons pay. Really, I had to ask her to apologize!!!!!!
I cannot say anything good about this…impossible company to work with
I cannot say anything good about this company. It should not take months to get your shoe back for a common lift from a leg discrepancy I have lived with since 1981. These people have no clue what they are doing and pass the buck in a circle from one to the other, inventing bizarre and nonsense rules about why they have not proceeded with a shoe they have had for 2 months. The first shoe they did took 3 months to get back and I was in the most horrible pain from the leg discrepancy and a bad chiropractor who crippled me. The 7 bulging vertebrae and leg discrepancy was pinching my pirriformis nerve, among others, and I literally could not walk for 7 months, being confined to my recliner while awake and getting little sleep at night without heavy doses of narcotics.
My only relief was to have the shoe lifted and they dragged their feet for months getting it done. How kind or sympathetic was that? Now they are claiming I need a new prescription!! The shoe they lifted is falling apart after 7 months. The tip of the shoe is dragging on things and catching grass leaves in between the layers. Let's talk about cheap work to begin with, shall we?
WHY demand a prescription?? I am paying this out of pocket. There is no insurance involved. They submit the invoice to no one but me. A call to corporate has netted 0 results. They prevaricate, stutter and refuse to provide good service. I have had this discrepancy since 1981. My leg is not going to miraculously grow.
Basically, no one is responsible at this company, which means no one cares. Don't fall for their BS about customer service. That's not something they care about!
Go to LIFT MYSHOEs.com (720) 638-7525) for better service and cheaper rates! Don't waste your time with these Hanger clinic idi0ts.They cannot think their way out of a wet paper bag.
1. They have no comprehension of customer service.
2. They are not submitting anything to insurance for most patients. You are going to pay out of pocket and then submit yourself if you have any insurance coverage.
3. Expect them to drag their feet and come up with bizarre reasons why your shoe is not ready. Timeliness is not an issue for them. Could this be because employees do not have the ability to solve problems, yet get the blame? Or is it because the business is so poorly run that people keep quitting and the only hires they have are bottom of the pile? Maybe they don't even train these people, just throw them into the fire and expect them to function.Well, remember, Under the Peterr Principle, every employee rises to the highest level of their incompetence. In this case, no one rises very high, which gives you a clue.
4. Corporate does not care, You will never receive a call from them. They merely redirect your issue to the local chapter of "Idi0ts, Inc."
5. Butts in chairs does not equal competent organization.
6. They are not the most affordable out there. Look elsewhere. ANYWHERE but here.

Amazing wonderful and usually pretty fast been using them for several years (20) at least for all my kiddos
Not acceptable.
It's funny yet pathetic
It's funny yet pathetic! The first place I ended up going to after my amputation was Hanger Prosthetics on reference of a cast dude at University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philly. That was 40 years ago.Through the years I've had different prosthetic companies but always if I could, would go back to Hanger. Why? Because back then they really cared about people and the quality of their prosthetics.Fast forward to today. All they care about is the almighty dollar. I have a hard time getting an appointment because they are SO booked up, it will be some time before they can work me in. REALLY?? It seems to me you don't have enough technicians/prothetists to handle the load. In addition, you hire complete "Karen's" as receptionists that either forget to relay a message or give you the wrong information. There's a lot of hungry people out there who are willing to compete for my business especially since I have Medicaid & Medicare. Even though the prosthetist is great, it's not her fault that you are too cheap to hire more staff. They wouldn't even call Medicaid to get a special preauthorization because they told me Medicaid would say no. Well, I called them and they told me what to do to get my problem resolved, with their help.I need someone in my corner and it's not them. I'm ex military and they had their chance. I'm moving on to the next rising star who is hungry! Peace out to my brothers & sisters!
Do not ever go to the hanger in…
Do not ever go to the hanger in Gainesville Georgia. Avery Hammonds is horrible and does not know what she is doing. She started over three times and now I just have a leg that is a complete copy of the leg that was made for me seven years ago. She couldn’t fit me so she had to copy my old leg which doesn’t really fit me because my body has changed in seven years. Now they refuse to Help me or change anything and I paid about $16,000. She also had to look at the manual, just to know how to work my knee. It has been 11 months since they started on my “new” leg. Still don’t have it completed. And this might be sent to Hanger, but they could absolutely care less about their patients.
The negative reviews are everywhere
Hanger Taos is no better. It's been 18 months since I walked away from this nightmare. I wased well over a year and 10 grand on incompetence.
Do not complain as you will be retaliated against like I was. Even tried to go to another office only to have Taos call ahead to sabotage my care.
Ultimately I ended up with Active Life in Santa Fe and Albuquerque who are masters of their craft. Once they built me new legs I saw the shoddy work I was dealing with in Taos. In 6 weeks so much inflammation went away my legs needed refitted. Then 15 Days later refitted again as I shrunk so much. Everybody was in disbelief.
FRAUDULENT BILLING
Received a bill/collection notice from Hanger Clinic seeking payment for medical device (sling) which was already covered by insurance. Furthermore, I was provided the sling by the attending doctor at the hosptial and no Hanger Clinic involvement whatsoever. I am certain the hospital purchased the sling as part of their inventory and Hanger Clinic is not eligible for any further compensation. I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau.
It has taken 5 months and 7 appointment…
It has taken 5 months and 7 appointment scheduled , for a dual-hinged left ankle, brace the first on I ask for more stride of hinged , foot bed , brain in SunCity, Az. cut the back support section of my brace , cannot put it back , one piece molded plastic , ,I told them of this and he denied doing anything to it, I left the brace on the floor walked out , two weeks later calls me , it's ready , I tryed on brace, no he tried to fix the one he cut , hurt my back foot ,sent me to the ground ,third brace won't fit my foot or shoe , one inch too wide the whole length of foot , he did not remake a mold for corporate to properly make my brace , I'm so done with hanger , I've had 7 orthosis made by them , non this awful 💩👎😱😭
WORRHLESS
This company created the worst prosthetic leg ever. After all the visits and adjustments and wasted time they still couldn't get it right. The socket is still huge and fits like a bucket and the leg is too high and unstable which turns to one side everytime I try to take a step so I gave up. I think during those appointments they never made a single adjustment.. They were just trying to milk my insurance for all the money and give me a crappy product. So now I use the socket as a bucket to clean my floors. Im not going to put out any names but it was a clinic in Las Vegas. Just do yourself a favor and stay away from all of them.
