Rx from my primary care physician

My doctor has been sending Hanger prescriptions for my compression stockings for several years. My insurance covers 100% of the cost. It hasn't been easy because of their customer unfriendly policies and processes, but usually I'm able with some difficulty to get my prescriptions filled. But this inexplicably changed without even a courtesy notice to me. Now they are not filling the prescription. They left me waiting for almost a month. I don't know why they are not filling the prescription - no information to me or my physician. I do not recommend Hanger Clinic - best to find an alternative provider

Hanger Prosthetics is absolutely the worst experience I've ever had with any prosthetic company, I have been an amputee since 1966. Their lack of Integrity or concern is obvious they are not Better Business Bureau compliant. It is egregious with the lack of dignity they interact with patience. They are impersonal, money driven, with the most insensitive manner in which they deal.Special unhonorable mention To John Quigley, Barry Press

When the statement starts with 'what went wrong this time', should let you know that the company is very poor. AOI was great until Hangar bought them. The Indianapolis Indiana office is the one that has such poor quality of work. I have worked with them since Dec 8 2022 and my left crowboot still isn't ready (after being remade). I have band aids on the bottom of my foot as I have charcot. And the bones stick out on the bottom and the side of my foot (thus the need of a crowboot). If you have a doctor wanting you to go to Hangar, run like the wind and find another place of business!

knee brace does not stay up

knee brace. Manager measured wrong and got wrong size. Had to wait another week 1/2 . after the second brace within 2 days, brace started slipping to the floor all the time & I was in pain. Tried velcro and sticky material and nothing worked. Called Hanger back and manager said he knew this happened and was nothing he could do. Darn thing cost me $300.00 and I'm still in pain. Also had to make several trips at 52 miles round trip. I have now been in contact with the manufacturer and they believe they can help me but at a cost.

I’m not impressed with this company at…

I’m not impressed with this company at all. The prosthetics are fine, but they charged us $652.56 for them when come to find out insurance was going to cover it. When asked about it they stated “well your insurance had just renewed so we assumed they wouldn’t cover it”. Well you know what assuming does? Yeah, that’s what they are.

i have seen both of the people that…

i have seen both of the people that come to the fort dodge iowa location, each a different year, against my daughter's advice. they were both courteous, etc. but the orthotics they provided did not provide the relief needed. my feet hurt and i am very disappointed in the orthotics i received. 2021 and 2022 are the years. don't know the dates

Anna at the Cadcade Hanger is outstanding.

Just got my third socket delivered by the Hanger clinic in Cascade, Michigan and I am very pleased with the results. Anna was my clinician and she is very attentive, knowledgeable and got me up and moving around in no time. Very grateful for the care I have received and will continue to be a customer.

One star only because zero wasn’t an option. Peak Drive in Las Vegas the receptionist was an unbelievable nightmare and utterly unfit to communicate with customers. Wound up buying their identical $286 product for $90 on Amazon. Run!

The clinic in Merced CA is incapable of ordering products needed on time for my prosthetic leg. After 15 years they still can’t have my liners on time and my leg suffers to the point where I can’t walk. They blame the insurance company and I have to be the middle man every time. If you can go somewhere else I’m limited so I have no choice

I had to call for 2 1/2 weeks know one ever returned my call. Then I called again and someone answered the phone.. I told them "I have called for 2 1/2 weeks and know one ever returned my call" She said you have me on the phone now what do you want???? DAWN is her name.. She was rude and curt. I finally got an appt. Then I go in and get measured.. Go back 2 weeks and it was faulty.. then they told me they would get a different kind and be about a week ... 2 weeks later I call and ask where is my brace... She said she didnt know but will check and call me back... She never called back. I call them back and they said it is in but NO appts for 2 weeks the doctor is booked..... I told them to keep it!!! on top of all this the so called Doctor never came in to see me just his assistant.... He was just sitting in the office. I said the asst sees me cant she give it to me.. or call me for a cancellation.... She said I will check with the doctor and call you back.... She ( Dawn) never called back... 5 days later I call back and she said of someone was suppose to call you??? HUMMM well we can take you tomorrow.... So I go in tomorrow but it has been almost 2 months dealing with this Company and Jacksonville Beach area!!!

HANGAR, BAKERSFIELD

HANGAR, BAKERSFIELD:
I was recently referred to Hanger, BAKERSFIELD, by Kaiser Permanente ("KP") for Diabetic shoes/custom inserts. I had heard about Hanger from other local KP members who praised the facility. Starting two years ago, I asked KP's DME Department to refer me there for both footwear and back braces. I was told another vendor "had the contract" and I could not use Hanger. Last year, the "other vendor" made so many and so serious errors on my account and for my orders and I ultimately cancelled all items and demanded a refund. This year I asked for Hanger, and I was very pleased to be given the referral.

Michael Hinkle C.PED gave me the most COMPREHENSIVE foot examination in my life--SUPERIOR to KP's own podiatrists! He explored alternative footwear solutions with me; made the molds; and finalized my order. My previous vendor ONLY CARRIED THE DR. COMFORT line of footwear--Hanger had MULTIPLE LINES, including APEX, which I chose. Two weeks later, much earlier than scheduled, I was asked to return for my fitting. The APEX shoes and custom inserts were SUPERIOR to the Dr. Comfort products, and Michael Hinkle's significant training and experience was again manifest as he explored how my feet should adjust to the new shoes/inserts and what I should look out for if signs of trouble arose.

The entire experience was...revolutionary for me. NO WAIT TIME; complete preparation for my visit; reasonable pricing; and world class attention to my (modest) needs. I cannot convey how much more thorough and expert M. Hinkle was than my previous provider. I also appreciated the abundant efficiency and good cheer of GLORIA and STEPHANIE at the front office! [Without a good front office, no medical provider can render good service.]

I unreservedly recommend HANGER of BAKERSFIELD for anyone needing shoes and inserts--and I strongly suspect that those needing prosthetics of infinitely greater expense and complexity would also receive outstanding treatment. I am grateful that KP has switched to this superior provider.

UPDATE 9-9-22 visit for orthopedic corset aka "back brace".
This visit was with Suheel Bhat BOCPO:
* Gloria & Stephanie continued tradition of earliest possible scheduling; reminder sent; painless check in; confirmation of order details. [Any medical provider lacking a GREAT "FRONT OFFICE" is doomed to failure.
* Mr. Bhat, the Clinic Manager attentatively listened to my needs and history of prior purchases.
* HE SUGGESTED PRODUCT LINES I HAD NEVER EVEN HEARD BEFORE--and while I ended up "buying my usual", the advanced features were impressive. This is a "cutting edge" facility, constantly looking for "next best thing".
* He then searched Hangar's data bases and found the "brace/corset" I wanted in Reno and arranged for expedited shipping.
* Payment was deferred until my next visit to try on the unit.
Let's be real here--my needs are VERY MODEST, but anyone who can handle the trifling patient with superior service will likely excel at far more complex, and expensive, prosthetics.

While I note that some other Hangar facilities had very poor reviews, I continue to recommend this clinic without any reservation.

I had a bad experience with Hanger Clinic

I had a bad experience with Hanger Clinic. I went there to have the straps replaced on my afo. My afo is very comfortable. The man who replaced the straps asked how long Ive had this brace. I said about 25 years. So the guy starts making comments like how the brace is too loose here and the plastic is wearing out there etc.
I left the clinic feeling very uncomfortable. The guy sends a letter to my primary care doctor to get an approval for the brace and my insurance covered it.
I guess my primary care doctor thought I need the brace so he approved it.

I went to my best friend house, pulled the brace out of my shoe and we both examined it. Its in perfect shape. I had an appointment to get measured for the brace and I cancelled it. I told the receptionist that I was cancelling the appointment because I need to see a podiatrist before I get a brace. I was with my friend and she heard me call to cancel the appointment I mean I havent seen a podiatrist since I got the brace 25 years ago. Theres been no need. My foot doesnt hurt and my brace fits fine.

Several weeks after I cancelled the appointment, Hanger Clinic called me two days in a row to reschedule the appointment. I let the calls go to voicemail. The first call asked me to reschedule the appointment. The second call asked for my family to call and schedule an appointment for me. Like they think my family can pressure me into scheduling an appointment. How obnoxious!

I saw my primary care doctor today. I explained the situation. He said that since my brace fits well and Im comfortable, theres no need for me to get another brace.

The whole situation is so unethical. Here the clinic is ready to make a brace for me without me even seeing a podiatrist.

When I need the straps replaced on my brace, I will go somewhere else, not Hanger Clinic.
All they care about is money.

My experience was really bad

My experience was really bad, starting with the receptionist and then the Clinic Manager/CPO.
About a week before my appointment I received a telephone call from the Hanger Clinic, Taos Office, receptionist demanding my insurance information. I explained that I come early and bring it to my first appointment. The receptionist insisted that she needed the information before I would be seen and before my appointment. I was busy but called her back the next day with the requested information.
At my first appointment I wasn't fitted for Bi-lateral Wrist Orthotics, I was handed the Orthotics that were on the shelf.
The CPO/Clinic Manager basically told me that she had three styles in stock. I chose the ones with Thumb supports. CPO then brought 3 boxes: she opened one box, handed me the Orthotic and stood back to watch me put it on. The CPO/Clinic Manager asked how it felt. I said that it was "ok," but that it felt big. I adjusted the Velcro straps as much as I could, there was too much overlapping fabric. The CPO/Clinic Manager said that the Orthotic wasn't supposed to be tight. I explained that I had used an Orthotic years ago and that it felt firm and supportive like a glove. CPO/Clinic Manager repeated that it wasn't supposed to be tight and should fit comfortably. I then said that it didn't feel right, it felt big. CPO/Clinic Manager said that the medal band supports could be adjusted, that I could make an appointment and come back. I agreed and left. I wore one driving home but my wrist was floating inside of the Orthotic.
Next day, I called CPO/Clinic Manager and the conversation became an argument. She said that I was fine with the Orthotic when I left her office. She said that she had spent 45 (documented) minutes with me, adding that her assistant was present during the encounter. At one point CPO began to put words in my mouth. When I told her that both my Physical Therapist and Chiropractor agreed that the Orthotics were not properly fitted, too big; she said that she would be happy to explain to them and asked for their names. I responded that I was the patient, that she seemed uninterested in my case due to her neglecting to fit my Orthotics properly and that without written consent she could not discuss my medical information with anyone.
Like I said, she opened the box and handed them to me. She never touched them to see if my wrists were in the proper position, she didn't adjust the Velcro straps for secure fit, she made no attempts to check for proper fit, she didn't check anything, she didn't even get close enough to see if they were right.
Then she tells me that I can come back. . . . when in fact, that was the whole point of the appointment. It's Covid, we can't be expected to go back and forth the be refitted when the problem should have been addressed on the spot!

Hanger Clinic, Roseville. AVOID this place!

This is a sad thing to have to post this review, but it has to be done. I have been going to the Hanger Clinic in Roseville California for years now for my Orthopedic shoes. This year though the customer service from the front desk personnel has really gotten so bad, I had to find another clinic to help me. I went in for a fitting and that part all went well and I was given an appointment to come back and get my shoes I had ordered.
Then came the first phone call where they told me due to COVID issues the shoes would be late and I needed to reschedule for a couple of weeks later for the shoes to get in. I said no problem, I understood and actually made the appointment for 3 weeks later to give them more time. Then 2 days before the appointment the call and tell me the shoes will not be ready until September 2021 (Way more then 3 weeks). I tell them I have to think about what I want to do and contact my doctor. So, the next day I call and tell them that I will make the appoint I have and will discuss looking at other shoes they have to offer. Well, this is were it gets really bad on their part, because without telling me they have cancelled my appointment. On top of that she told me that I would have to wait until September 2021 to be able to come in and look and other types of shoes. Now keep in mind that I went in for my initial fitting in March of 2021. So I ask them what is going on, I never cancelled my appointment? The receptionist tells me that her supervisor cancelled the appointment because I would not commit to the appointment when she had me on the phone. As I am asking what happened and trying to get answers, she talks over me and cuts me off several times, before she ultimately just hung up on me with any notice of what was going on with the situation.
This is the most unprofessional clinic I have ever come across in my life! You shock a person, because you have lied to them about the shoes you are suppose to be making for them and then when it all blows up in your face, you get rude with the customer and hang up on him! I have notified my ordering medical organization on how the HANGER CLINIC ( ROSEVILLE, CA) treat their patients and when they mislead them about their service. If I were anyone with orthopedic needs, I would go anywhere else besides this place for them. The customer service is really poor and they do not care about patient needs. The front desk queen's needs are more important then the customer!
