I’ve used haybox for a number of years. The hay use to arrive in a box and was fresh and green. Now it’s compressed in a bag and smells damp. For the price you are paying I’d expect the same standard. Sadly I think I’ll be looking elsewhere.

The Hay used to be great quality with very little dust. Now its horrendous a dust cloud everytime you take some from the box. The hay had rotten sections which I had to throw away. I called them and emailed, no answer. Recommend go elsewhere. They take top dollar for crap now.

We have had delivery from Hay Box for a couple of years now. They have been great, until unfortunately they made some business changes.

The first and most important is that the quality of hay has dropped off quite a lot. It used to come in a nice box, was fresh and not dusty at all. However, it’s now compressed into bags which has made is so much more dusty and our rabbits just haven’t enjoyed it as much. Plus they always enjoyed getting in the box.

Secondly they have changed the courier they used. DPD used to be fantastic and always on time, however I feel like this isn’t the case anymore with the new courier.

It is a real shame as we loved the hay we received and have given it the benefit of the doubt for a couple of months now, but unfortunately we’ve had to change now.

Having tried a few different hay suppliers for my piggies, Haybox stands out above the rest for me. My order of soft cut hay arrived the very next day after placing my order and my fussy guinea pigs could not eat it quickly enough! The hay is of top quality and was well packaged. I contacted Haybox directly prior to placing my order for some recommendations and advice, what a lovely friendly company I am so pleased to have found.

But I highly recommend the Timothy hay and definitely the dandelion leaves my two girls go crazy over them
I haven’t currently got any forage mats or anything so is just sprinkle a very tiny bit on there food in the mornings and they go crazy over it
And hatbox is such a good price and the quality is outstanding

After using many Timothy hay suppliers, I always come back to Haybox Club. They have a great variety of different hays and their Coarse Cut Timothy hay is my guinea pigs favourite because of the chunky crunchy stems and big buds! And apart from Christmas, you order online and within a day your order is processed and despatched! Really good packaging too, a bag that I resell with a food clip, to keep the Timothy hay fresh and my guinea girls love the boxes to chew and play in!

I had an issue with an order not arriving after waiting 3 days after the suggested timeframe. In response to my email chasing up my order, Sam was great! Sorted me out a replacement order to arrive the next day, refunded my postage for the inconvenience and was very understanding with my frustration. Now I have 2 very happy Buns 🐰

Excellent customer service, extremely responsive and helpful. The products are always fresh and well packaged with a fast delivery time.
I would highly recommend Haybox to anyone with bunnies.

We have used Hay Box for our rabbits for about 4 years now. The hay is always very fresh and the new shrink wrapped packaging makes it even better! Stays fresher and I can order more, making it cheaper, as it’s less bulky for storing. We recently had an issue with a delivery getting lost (due to courier issues) and Sam at customer services very quickly sorted it out and we had our hay within 24 hours. Excellent service, highly recommended.

Brilliant customer service, great quality hay and the subscription service is really convenient. The packaging makes it easy to store the hay and the bunnies love the cardboard box!

We used to love Haybox and it makes me so sad to give them a poor review. We've been buying from them for over 3 years and my bunny always went mad for their hay. Unfortunately the last few months (since the packaging change) there has been a big drop in quality. It's much more dusty and broken, and my rabbit just isn't as interested. She eats it very reluctantly and leaves a massive pile.

I have to look elsewhere which is a shame because it's difficult to find high-quality hay that is affordable.

We will still be buying the pellets and cookies from Haybox as my bunny still loves them and their quality is still good. But the quality of the actual hay has dropped massively.

Our boxes also used to be delivered by DPD within 2-3 days of ordering and with no issues. They're now delivered by Yodel - often a week after delivery and sometimes with the boxes virtually destroyed and beaten. Yet I have no choice to choose the delivery company when I check out.

Haybox - please just go back to your old practices! There was nothing wrong with how the hay used to be packaged, you didn't need to change anything!

Great quality hay that smells lovely and fresh - and also stock an array of high quality bedding, foraging foods and Timothy Hay cookies, which our rabbits love. On the rare occasion when we've needed to contact Customer Services, they've been a joy to speak with, and have resolved any issues very quickly. We're really happy with our Haybox subscription!

Amazing quality hay please don't drop your standards. Fantastic new packaging! Keeps the hay fresh, compact, keeps pesky little bugs, insects, spiders, flies and any other creepy crawlies getting their way into my bunnies hay from transit to delivery so I know my bunnies main food source isn't contaminated by pests! Wonderful packaging and so space saving as I have really limited storage space! Please don't ever change your packaging! I don't want to change hay provider unless I have no alternative! Very pleased :D Thank you.

I was disappointed with the last delivery of hay due to the new plastic packaging and the hay being more compressed and hence broken up more and bunnies were hardly eating it. They immediately sent out a replacement with no issues. I was very grateful for that because my bunnies are top priority ! Thank you Haybox!

So sad that a previously brilliant company has fallen so much. The product was (and for me continues to be, though others have had different experiences) decent.

Their 'customer service' has always been a bit hit and miss - for example they play piteous "How dare you ask where your hay, for which we've charged you, is? Timmy has a cough" tediously often.

They have recently started baling, in plastic, so that the hay is much more compressed and dusty than it was, which is a problem.

But most egregious is the 'subscription date' issue.

Most bunny parents dont live on a farm or own barns. So we order hay (from those who do) on a regular basis.

Except that Haybox club, after years in the business, don't seem able to grasp that.

So orders arrively randomly (usually late), not helped by a recent move from DPD to Yodel as courier, and we have to just accept that.

I am not ordering from HayBox any more. I have been a long time customer but my recent experience has been extremely disappointing.

Two seperate orders didn't show up after two weeks, in total around £50 worth. I got in touch and they said that arranged for them to be dispatched (from discussions it seemed they 'forgot' to dispatch them).

1.5-2 weeks pass, and the orders still did not turn up. It was then getting towards the Christmas period. I was frantically trying to get hay ordered at this point so we weren't left without for my two, stasis prone rabbits over the holidays. Made for quite a lot of stress, especially as I was at one point promised they HayBox order would be dispatched in time for Christmas.

I had to spend a fortune on various other type of hay which had quick delivery times (all of which my rabbits didn't want to eat as they weren't used to it), still no HayBox orders.

They promised to give me a discount due to the trouble caused, but this never arrived. They then started to ignore my emails and I didn't get any replies when asking where my order was. I eventually got through via phone to get my refund almost two months after these orders were due.

The ignoring email and contact via Instagram really left me feeling frustrated, so rude of them.

Have been using haybox for years now and all was ok. But recently they have changed the packaging to wrap the hay in a plastic bag within the box. Previously it was just hay in a box. I understand the plastic is 100% recyclable and made from 30% recycled plastic, but that’s not the point. There was no plastic and now there is plastic and 70% of that is new plastic. Just no need for it.

Also, as we now have to get it out of the plastic bag it makes a lot more mess where as before we just took it out of the box.

Going to look for a new supplier.

Great product and usually really happy, unfortunately the delivery has started to become problematic so will be looking into a better alternative.

Seems to keep getting delivered to the wrong address even though our address is on the box.

As many have reported on here, Haybox used to be brilliant! Best hay around without a doubt. Until now! I received the new box and in opening it realised the hay was very different to the usual. I thought they must have sent the wrong kind but the sticker on the box said it was the soft cut as ordered. I called them to explain it was wrong and very coarse. In their defence they did apologise and said it should be the same as usual. They sent me another box. I’m so sad it’s the same as the first box. Horrible stuff. So now the search to find a company who supplies nice green soft hay begins again. Why do companies do this? Drives me nuts!
