healthequity not working
the wageworks used to work, but not anymore. It forced me to setup passkey but the passkey setup is a crap all bug it never successed. I called support and support say you have to wait 24 hours. I hope I can quit from using it.
I could login after I set up my account…
I could login after I set up my account and no one could help me. When I tried to close the account it took four months and in that time I had to call three times for them to actually start the process and in that time they took all of that money I had in there in fees.
Good Luck getting $5K in claims processed
I have almost $5K in outstanding claims and ample funds to cover. 1) No notification on process - you must log in and check 2) Notes indicate no attached receipt. Wrong, they all have receipts. 3) Website is horrid - your PDF attachments are not labeled so good luck attaching the right dox to the right claim 4) Have to use PLAID or they charge me for payment (yes, really). PLAID requires access to your bank account balance! 5) Once I linked PLAID as the payment mechanism to one claim, that option isn't available for all the other outstanding claims. Great, I have $125 coming from them now. How about the other $4700? Uggh. 6) Live Customer Service is obviously beat up on every call - we are all majorly frustrated by the time we connect with a real person.
Their website is my worst nightmare
Their website is my worst nightmare. I signed up for a day camp for my daughter. I paid extra into the account to cover the amount. I went to get it reimbursed and discovered that the type of day camp wasn't covered. However, I received no explanation as to why. I had to complain to my employer about the situation, and they were finally able to get me in touch with someone who told me that the day camp didn't qualify and why it didn't qualify. Had I known this (had it been listed on their website for what qualifies). I would have stopped the summer camp completely and switched to something else. Now there is no time, as the summer is already over, and no way to cancel for this month or undo the last three months. So, I'm out a huge chunk of money. I even asked them to clarify what day camps don't qualify in an email before I signed her up, and no one responded to me. Even worse, when I did speak with an agent, I told her what type of day camp it was, and she didn't say anything about the day camp not qualifying. I have no desire to use Health Equity now or in the future. I feel like they stole from me, and that's a hard feeling to get past. That's not something you just get over... Do better Health Equity.

Two days, can't get a rep on the phone!A.I.is useless! After two years, still can't use portal because they still my birthdate wrong!!!Gave up trying to correct this!Without a doubt the worst customer support system I've ever dealt with!I'd rather go to the D.M.V.!!!
If I can give 0 star
If I can give 0 star, I would. It is a horrible platform. I have been trying to sign up (if I have the option not to, I would, but unfortunately my company's insurance is stuck with them for commuter benefits) for 2 weeks, and there is still no resolution. Every rep I talked to ask me to do the same steps over and over again (even knowing my ticket said specifically that I tried many times and nothing worked, they still ask me to do it). It shows how disconnected the company is.
Why is zero stars not an option?
Why is zero stars not an option?
In november of last year, my Health equity card was "declined" when I used it for a purchase. My assumption was that we had exhausted our funds and I was thrilled that we had used it all! Then fast forward to a couple of weeks ago, It was again "declined for insufficient funds" was the exact message I got. This surprised me since we haven't had any major medical expenses yet this year and it was only JULY! When I looked up my account, I found that I actually had $2100 left AND $1600 was left last year. What had actually happened was that they had froze our account because 25 items needed "documentation". AND the items that needed documentation were items paid to a hospital, urgent care, and an orthopedic clinic. I could understand if they were charges at walmart or walgreens for items that my NOT be covered, but these were charges to medical institutions. So, the $1600 from last year is just GONE because it was too late to do anything about. And now, I've spent countless hours working on documenting the 25 items with receipts and EOB's so that they will unfreeze my card for my remaining $2300 for this year. The number of calls I've made asking why it's still locked despite my documentation filings is unbelievable. I've spent HOURS and HOURS explaining receipts to their employees and they STILL manage to come up with something else they "need" before they can unfreeze my funds. I would rather pay taxes on my money than ever do this again! DO NOT FALL FOR IT. They take your money and make you work HARD to get it back. And it's cost us with money that was unbeknownst to us, left on the table.
Why isn't there a zero option
Why isn't there a zero option? Heatlhequity is absolute garbage, every step of the way. These scumbags from Moscow Mitch's state of Kentucky paid my employer to get access to the employees. Nothing works correctly. Their latest devolution is when the CEOs son in charge of IT decided to use passkeys to log in to your account. They don't work. Ever.
So, can't log in. Can't see any information on my HSA. Can't get a hold of a human being. Can't switch to a different company. Absolute garbage company.
The new app system sucks and the whole…
The new app system sucks and the whole interface needs to be fixed you can no longer sign in on a computer only on the app, if you try it sends an push notification to your phone and logs in on the phone but wont logging on a PC where you can see the system better. I hate the new update and their is no option to just enter a password. Frustrating.
0 stars should be an option..
0 stars should be an option... for companies like this one. Absolutely no way to log in; I've tried a dozen times... it just gives me a "technical difficulty problem" and goes nowhere. Meanwhile, they take out a $1.50 fee for every statement they send... since I can't log in and go paperless.
Unfortunately 0 stars is not a option
Unfortunately 0 stars is not a option. This company is horrible. You can't access your account, you spend most of the time on customer service which is unable to help, you have fees to use or transfer your own money, adds, and transactions canceled without warning.
Impossible to login, use, or file a claim
Impossible to login, worse that Apple if you lose a password. You have to call during narrow hours to try to reset. Half the time, you get blocked from logging in and that somehow counts against your password attempts and boom you're frozen again.
Their 2FA is broken. I've logged into 5 sites across mobile and email two-factor and am still waiting for their 6-digit code (it's been 30 minutes and I've asked for a new code twice). How can they survive with a simple experience like login being this broken?
Asks for documentation that you have already sent.
Why do business still use this awful company? They are horrible. There are way better companies, and in a world of AI, there are clearly better and cheaper solutions.
Horrible app/ crap customer service
Horrible app, useless customer service and basically have stolen my "savings" and are slowly erasing it with monthly fees. Do not waste your time or money
Help thousands of dollars in limbo for weeks
I transferred a large sum of money into my account for a scheduled cardiac procedure. During the transfer they asked me to agree that it would take 3-5 business days.
Two days later they told me the money would be held until the end fo the month (two weeks later) because of another policy that was not surfaced, and I did not agree to. They then told me that it was too late to cancel and the money would be held with no way for me to access or retrieve it.
They process payments and then ask for…
They process payments and then ask for documentation, but the dates they processed payments doesn't match up with bills or EOB's and they have matched some things up incorrectly and so now I have to give them something new to cover their errors. People on phone or nice but incompetent. I have had FSAs for years with no problem, but since my husband's company went with Health Equity 2 years ago, it's been a nightmare. Horrible, Horrible, Horrible. Never seen anything like with an FSA.
Absolute garbage
Absolute garbage. Why are they even still in business if most of their customers cant even sign in? On top of that the customer service is horrible at best. You cant enter a claim on the app. When you find out how to enter a claim on the site theres no option to enter confirmation documents. So then they decline and you have to jump through hoops to make sure they have everything they need to approve you. The navigation is crap as well. Too bad employers don't do their research before they contract with this company.
They overcharge and underdeliver
They overcharge and underdeliver. Website is clunky, buggy, and not at all user-friendly. I've been locked out of my account more times than I can count, and hence, have spent hours on the phone with customer service trying to get back in.
Ultimately I started transfering my funds to another HSA every 6 months or so, because I literally couldn't access my Health Equity account. That was a do-able workaround I suppose, but as of Nov 2025, there is a $25 fee for any transfers like that. It feels like I am being punished for their ineptitude.
How I wish wish wish my employer would use a different provider. This exasperating.
HealthEquity EZ Receipts: An Unusable, Hostile Mess
HealthEquity EZ Receipts might be the worst piece of business software I have ever been forced to use.
I am using it to apply for a TAP card and access a tiny travel grant, yet the entire process is an absurd amount of fuss for such a small benefit. The application barely works, is poorly explained, crashes constantly, and the mobile app is flat-out useless.
My account is now locked. The site tells me to contact support by logging in, which is impossible because I cannot log in. That circular support process would be funny if it were not wasting so much time.
The authentication design is also ridiculous. It requires a passkey as “2FA,” even though a passkey is intended to replace a password, not be bolted on as a second factor. To set it up, I was required to scan my ID and complete a face scan. The process failed, and then told me that my actual ID was not mine.
I did not manage to get into my account this time. When I was previously able to access it, the interface refreshed so frequently that it broke forms while I was completing them. Clicking blank areas of the page could send me to “page not found” or “access denied” errors. It quite literally did not work.
Even Microsoft Teams feels exceptionally well designed compared with this. That is an extraordinary achievement in the worst possible sense.
Bad software is an insult to users’ limited time. HealthEquity appears to have selected the easiest and cheapest possible option, regardless of whether it functions. The result is embarrassing, unreliable, hostile software from a company handling benefits and sensitive personal information. It is also embarrassing that organizations continue to use it.
This entire industry has normalized forcing people through gross, badly designed systems for basic administrative tasks such as travel grants. HealthEquity should rebuild the product, replace the people responsible for these decisions, and stop making users pay for its incompetence with hours of their lives.
Would rate even lower if I could
This is without a doubt the worst…
This is without a doubt the worst company I've ever worked with in the 56 years I've been on this planet. Steer clear of these people because their customer service is horrible to non-existent. I've been trying to get out of this company for 7 months and they make it impossible to get anything done. I highly recommend you research other companies and go with anybody other than health equity. We have not been able to do a marriage address change for over 7 months now. They keep asking us for information that's not valid and making us get things notarized and doing things to a website that doesn't work so you can't get anything done and it's just impossible. This is the worst company I've ever dealt with.
After trying to log in for 30 minutes…
After trying to log in for 30 minutes using all possible ways, the system fails every time. I can't log into my personal profile with the right password or passkey. Nothing works. The worst website and login system I have seen in my life.
Besides, they have denied every single claim this year even though I had exactly the same type of claims last year that were approved. After I send them letters from doctors, they also deny them.
It's a shame! This company just needs to go off the market.
