Not even remotely worth the cost
They don't tell you what they are going to test for before you buy the test. Two of the three hormones they tested me for were Thyroid related and I had already had them checked twice by my GP within the previous few months.
My kit was still £249 - so for one new test it was a total waste of money. I don't know anything that I didn't already know - and if you want to chat through your results with someone then you have to pay more.
They should either tell you implicitly what they are going to test BEFORE you buy - or at least check what you have already had tested?
I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, and I won't be using of their additional cost follow up services.

We’d like to clarify a few key points raised in your review and provide a clear explanation of the Hertility service.
We offer a bespoke testing service with our at-home Hormone & Fertility test. Our Online Health Assessment (the questionnaire you filled in before purchasing) is our diagnostic tool which assigns you your personalised hormone panel, based on the symptoms and medical history that you tell us about.
We aim to be as transparent with our customers as possible, as our mission is to empower everyone to get the answers they deserve about their own bodies. Our purchase journey is set up purposefully so that this hormone panel would have been shared with you prior to your purchase. This is done so if you do have any questions about the hormones we are testing you for, you can direct them towards our Customer Care team, who would have been happy to support you before purchase if you had any questions regarding your hormone panel.
To maintain our transparency with our customers, we also clearly state on our website that we can test for 'up to 10 hormones', however it is not guaranteed that you will be tested for all 10. We do not test hormones if there is no clinical indication for them to be tested.
We also wanted to take the opportunity to highlight that within the Advanced Hormone and Fertility test package, there is a Clinical Results Review Call. This is a call with one of our expert midwives and nurses, who would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have about your results report. This call is included with every Advanced Hormone and Fertility Test and does not come with an additional fee.
We're keen to support you and provide clarification on your results report with us. As this is a public forum, for confidentiality reasons we cannot discuss your case in more detail. We will reach out to you privately to explore how we can support you with your journey.

No real result.
You pay quite a big sum, to receive a standard blood test back. Which by the way the blood test kit isn’t quick and easy I ended up having to prick myself 4 times. The results don’t come with a consultation to discuss the results. They want more money for the information on the test. I feel let down, still no closer to knowing if I can or cannot have a baby and if not then why.

Hertility Test Is Great For All Women, No Matter Their Stage of Life
It is great to have a service that gives you a comprehensive overview of your fertility and hormonal health. I had a follow up call with a gyneacologist where she walked me through my results and gave me advise based on my needs and where I am in terms of my family planning. Additionally she gave me a letter detailing our conversation and advising on further testing/checks that should be done based on my results. It was great to have access to this service especialy when it has proved difficult to get specialist appointments and comprehensive testing done in a the country I am living in (Ireland). I would recommend Hertility to any women, no matter their circumstances or stage of life.

Firstly, we would like to reassure you that our lab is UKAS accredited (ISO 15189:2022) for capillary and venous blood sampling and was the first UK lab to attain this level of accreditation. It leads the UK in the capillary testing specialisation having published widely on the subject, it maintains the highest form of internal and external regulations. This means that our testing has be accurate to uphold these accreditations.
Our hormone & fertility test kits are CE-marked for IVDR use and MHRA registered, we adhere to strict testing policies to uphold our compliance.
It is important to be aware that different clinics use different assays, and this may be why your GP clinic and our test results may have differed. Our partner lab is used to process NHS samples as well.
Another note to bear in mind is that hormone levels are constantly fluctuating, and many influencing factors will have a direct impact on the reading (time that sample is taken, stress levels, day of cycle, to mention a few!)

Great insight into hormones
I do this every year to see how my hormone levels are fluctuating. Very helpful with PCOS! Instructions are clear with high quality materials included and there is a quick turn around from sending blood sample to receiving an in depth report with results. Highly recommend!

Entering my 30s I wanted to have more…
Entering my 30s I wanted to have more knowledge and understanding about my fertility and that’s why I chose Hertility. The home test was super convenient and straight forward. Whilst I wasn’t at the stage to start trying for a family at that time, I was curious about my hormones and if anything may impact my fertility. My first report highlighted I had high prolactin and since I also was experiencing severe headaches, it advised me to also get checked out by my GP. I’m so glad I did as that led them to carry out further bloods which confirmed the high prolactin and resulted in me having a MRI scan. The whole journey with the NHS was about a year & thankfully no tumour was found but it really made me evaluate my health, as high prolactin can be a cause of stress and it also meant the NHS would monitor my levels. Since then I’ve worked really hard to manage stress and also did another home test last year as my partner & I wanted to start trying for a family. I also had a follow up call with a fertility advisor who gave me great advice when it came to my prolactin and how it may impact ovulation and what steps I could do to monitor this. I followed her advice, and the start of this year my partner & I found out we were expecting. I think if you’re curious about your fertility health, I’d highly recommend Hertility. Whilst it may not provide you with all the answers, it definitely provides a great start!

Too difficult and painful
It is really really difficult to finger prick yourself to get enough blood to fill the vial. I had no hope and ended up having to squeeze my finger which made the blood unable to test. They offered to send a replacement pack but I couldn't do it again I knew it wouldn't work. Fingers were bruised for about a week. Save your money.

We have created a number of options to support our customers with their sample collection process.
Within every testing kit, we provide a step by step instruction booklet that includes pre-testing recommendations, helpful tips and we encourage customers to reach out to our customer service team if they are having difficulty during the process. Our Customer Care team is available to assist from Monday to Friday 7am-6pm and on Saturdays and Sunday from 9am-5pm with any issues customers may have when taking your sample. We mention in our instruction booklet that if you encounter difficulties after using two lancets, you should contact us for further assistance.
We provide a video guide which supports our customers who prefer visual support. In addition, we encourage the use of our Hertility app which can be downloaded via the QR code provided to you in your test kit, which includes an interactive test companion that gives very clear instructions on each step of the testing process
We also offer personalised 1:1 guidance via video calls, providing tips and tricks to ensure a successful sample collection. We have found these video calls to be very successful in reducing haemolysed samples and currently less than 10% of all of our samples fail when they reach our lab to be tested. Our video calls have been able to support customers that have struggled the first time round to be able to collect a fully testable sample.
If you don't feel comfortable taking the sample yourself, we also offer the option to purchase a nurse visit, this is when you have your sample collected by one of our experienced phlebotomists who visit you at home and take a blood sample from a vein in the crook of your arm.
We have done extensive research on our testing kits to make sure they are user friendly. We have also spent a significant amount of time making sure our instructions are applicable to all of our users, as blood flow when collecting is highly dependent on the individual.

Expensive and no test results
Unfortunately not a successful test for two reasons -
1) My blood sample came back as not being of high enough quality- quite common apparently, but they then start charging you significantly more money
2) They don’t make it clear in the sales material that you have to take the test first thing on a certain day of your cycle- which actually means it is fairly inconvenient to fit around a busy gym and work lifestyle - the test takes a long time to do

Once you have completed our online health assessment, we intentionally display your hormone panel before the checkout section of the website.
