The survey, once issued, was great. Very informative and easy to understand. However it took me multiple phone calls over several weeks to get the survey issued. I was given many excuses with promises of call backs but none happened. Overall the survey was good but the communication was poor.

I recently aquired a new property and went with House Smart Surveying for a survey of my property , and I couldn't be happier with the experience. From start to finish, their professionalism and attention to detail were exemplary. The surveyor Hamza was prompt, courteous, and thorough in the assessment, taking his time to explain his findings and answer all of my questions. The report I received was comprehensive and easy to understand, providing valuable insights into the condition of my property.

Needed a house survey for my property so I decided to go with house smart surveying as they were very friendly on the phone and explained which survey is best for the property. The report was also very detailed and the admin team always kept me updated with every step of the process.

Booked a survey and the report was exceptional, professionally organised and very detailed. Communication and service was great, they advised me on which survey was the best and any questions I had at any point were answered quickly.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!

Honestly what an absolute nightmare they are!! There portal didn’t work, they were late in providing the survey, the survey did did provide was incorrect, not even noting what the survey was actually for!!
I submitted TWO complaints and was told they’d be forwarded to the director, and was told I’d get a call from the director, two weeks later?? NOTHING!!
They take your money, fob you off, and give you incorrect surveys!!! Every time I call and speak with the same man, he says he’ll forward my requests for a response and call me back, never once have I had a call back from Marcel or ANYONE at this company. What an utter disgrace.
Me and my partner are first time buyers, and have been told that moving house is stressful anyway, but adding these cowboys on top of it isn’t needed !!! I’m so disgusted in how you treat your customers, I AGAIN, demand a refund!!!!

It seems a lot of companies are using the portal system. I find this very impersonal and often difficult to use.

from first contact all the way until the report was issued the team worked together very well to ensure everything was efficient. Happy with everything, in particular Marcel who was very helpful with updates throughout.

My report was due on 28th March, and I did not receive it on this date. I showed some leniency because of the Easter bank holiday weekend and called on 5th April to follow it up and was told it would be over by the end of the day, which did not materialise. I followed up a further 5 times and was promised a same day delivery, which didn't materialise on any occasion. When I finally did receive it, I was promised a discussion regarding compensation and a week later this has not happened. I strongly recommend avoiding this company at all costs.

Would not recommend. The initial survey date was missed, then when they conducted the survey the report took many many chasers to get a hold of. I was promised at multiple points throughout that I would 100% get it by 5pm, or it’s guaranteed to be with me by the next morning etc etc but it never was. No offer of partial refund or anything apart from apologises and then promises that fell through again. It put all the stress onto me (asif there isn’t enough going on with buying a house). I had no issues with the actual report which is a shame, because this was good quality, but the service was awful.

Booked a level 2 survey and the report I received was very detailed. I was impressed with my report the only downside was communication was not particularly good. When contacted was made the issue was acted on quickly. I would use this company again

Even though I had some doubts after reading a few negative reviews, going with House Smart Surveying turned out to be a good decision. They were super responsive from the moment we booked until after the survey was done. Although it took the full 7 working days for the Level 2 Survey report, it covered everything and was professionally laid out. When I wanted to ask more about the report, they were happy to oblige and the surveyor was able to answer all my questions. Overall, they're affordable and the communication was great. I'd definitely use them again.

Very poor communication, they take money and disappear, avoid

Absolutely awful experience. Avoid! Would give 0 stars actually.

Communication was great when they were trying to secure our business.

Communication went down hill after we had accepted their quote, especially the week before the scheduled survey date and they just didn't show up to carry out the survey. Worse still didn't even forewarn us or notify us or the estate agent on the day, so the vendor was waiting around on the day.

This company wants your money (full balance not a deposit even) before they have even carried out the survey, so we had a lucky escape.

We have subsequently booked another surveyor who is carrying out the survey, then invoicing us and then issuing us with the report, 3 days later.
