My experience through this whole process went pretty smooth. I am not good with technology but was able to complete everything via cell phone and laptop. I had a great team of people I would like to thank for all of your help with this and patience. Nancy Ruiz, Emily Rodriguez, Diana Chan and Karen Graham you made this all work for me. I am so appreciative to qualify for this grant money which I received the full amount I was requesting. When I started my project the application process was not open. I was contacted in December 2023 and started the process. At this point I was a month away from my final inspection and had already paid all my contractors. I had gotten a Heloc loan from my bank and HPP Cares paid that loan off and sent a check directly to my bank.

HPP Cares was instrumental in guiding me through the ADU process including accessing the Cal HFA grant. I attended many webinars and gained access to advisors that helped set me up for success. We passed our final inspection this week, on time, on budget, compliant and ready to start generating rental income. They genuinely care about client success.

I would like to take a moment to point out the efforts made by Genesis Rivera. She has been extremely helpful and always available to answer any questions without hesitation. Funding request have been much easier and moving our project forward seamlessly. The communication from Genesis is remarkable and I'm truly thankful that she has made our dreams come true. Jasmin Catbagan could not have been more professional, caring and thorough in helping me with my paperwork. She not only emailed me the documents, she wrote step by step instructions AND stayed on the phone with me to go through each and every document to make sure I understood how to fill out the forms. Miss Katherine Peoples is excellent and knowledgeable. Our account manager changed hands thrice since December 2022, and we now have Denys Rivera. He is always prompt and responsive when we have any questions. He was very attentive, helpful, and patient with us and answered all of our questions that arose throughout the process.
